Oracle still doesn't get it. Go figure. But she's getting the distinct impression for some reason that Mirage and Nightbeat have a rather antagonistic attitude toward each other.
//I usually have more attention then I like, that's nothing new. I could do without presenting someone else with a puzzle today though.//
The change in Mirage's demeanor unsettles her a bit, and she flicks a glance at Nightbeat. This is his fault? Yick. She liked the charming and elegant flirt from before, this overdone bit of fluff is actually almost making her want to toss him around. Though Nightbeat is garnering the same reaction. Show you how we do it in the slums? Grrr. She almost quips something back in irritation, but she doesn't, he doesn't need the potential ammo. Her tucked up secondary winglets rattle with the effort off keeping it behind her teeth though.
Slowly starting to circle when Mirage says they can go back to sparing, Oracle pauses when he says he's staying visible. //You sure about that? I suppose it would serve the purpose of distracting Nightbeat but...// She may end up chasing him around the room a bit, and she doesn't think that's going to be that fun for him. Or for her really.
And then finally, she does get it when Mirage mentions Pee-Dee. Poker game, verbal fencing, all her watching people. Oh yeah. Heh. There's probably more then that, but at least she's not completely clueless anymore, just partially.
Dancing around getting started isn't going to do anything other then make Nightbeat wonder what else they might have been doing, she doesn't think, so seeing Mirage in position, Oracle stops circling and darts in. Nothing too fancy just a knife hand at his side and a leg sweep since she needs to see how Mirage moves when he's visible anyway. Most of her interaction then was playful rather then serious in their last match.

If he had teeth, Nightbeat would be grinding them. Mirage and his holier than thou attitude really ground his gears in general. But it really ground his gears around the ladies. The mention of Pee-Dee nearly had steam coming from Nightbeat's audios.
He winces when Oracle kicks out. If that connects, it's gonna hurt.

//Quite sure. I wish to see how you fight under normal circumstances.// he replies.
Ah, and the games afoot. As she darts in, Mirage attempts to hop over the leg sweep and to grab the wrist of the hand aimed for his side. If he manages the grab, he'll twist her arm hard (but not too hard) and try to put her on the floor.
Of course, her power may mean she can counter his evasion attempts. If so, he might be the one on the floor.
"What's the matter, Nightbeat old chap? No return quip, no jibe. You're slipping, Detective."

//Ah...if you say so Mirage. Just tell me when to stop I guess.// She hoped he was right about Nightbeat getting amusement out of his dents, or she'd end up feeling even worse. Which when she thought about it, sounded pretty wrong anyway.
The problem with hopping over something generally, is that for a short period of time there's a distinct lack of leverage involved with one's parting from the ground. With proper warning, your opponent can take unfortunate advantage of it. And she does. Twisting her hips, the leg that had been sweeping around now hooks back in the other direction, aiming to catch him behind the knees while he's still in the air. At the same time Oracle lets Mirage capture her wrist, twisting it around to secure herself a grip on his forearm as well.
Should her attempt work right, a quick yank on that wrist at the same time she catches him behind the knees should send him floor-bound back first. Of course, if she was mean she would shove with that wrist and send him to the floor face first after a partial flip...but she didn't think he needed that many dents for show.
Nightbeat she was attempting to ignore, but that was a bit hard with Mirage throwing barbs.

Nightbeat is always amused when bad things happen to Mirage.
"Sweet moves, Dollface. Why're you wasting them on the Ivory Tower playboy here?" He grins. "Or have I interrupted foreplay here?"

Mirage does wind up flat on his back on the floor (again), and very deliberately adopts a pained expression. He looks terribly affronted, embarrassed, and generally unhappy. About what you'd expect an aristocrat who just got tossed on his aft to look like.
And while he does fire off a quick, //Don't shoot me for this, love.// to Oracle, even Mirage must admit the attitude is only partially playacting.
"Hmpf, really, Nightbeat, is it possible for you to get any cruder? Why must a singular engagement between a male and female always be so misconstrued? If you pay as much attention to other people's business as seems your want, then you'd know I prefer male archetypes."
And now Mirage very pointedly looks Nightbeat over. "Though given option, she is definitely the handsomer choice in the room. So if you're trying to show interest in me using such schoolyard tactics...don't bother, Nightbeat."
Mirage turns back to Oracle, negligently waving a hand indicating they should continue.

So Nightbeat is a chauvinist. Or there's another explanation for calling her Dollface and the rest of the trend of his commentary but really, Oracle fails to care.
Mirage also, is not helping. In fact, Oracle is getting to the point where she's had quite enough of this nonsense, thank you very much. //Shoot you with what Mirage?// Her voice is entirely too innocent sounding to go along with the expression of determination that flits across her face as she lunges. Mirage may have to do some fast talking later, it is not a happy Seeker currently securing herself a grip on one of his shoulder wheel wells. On the other hand, she does know he's not totally serious so she still makes an effort not to hurt him. Too badly.
One handhold down, it's only a moment before she yanks backward with that hand as she twists to grab another wheel well on his leg. Two points of grip achieved and the momentum of Mirage's fall behind her, she plants her feet, turns, and lets her captive fly like a projectile right at her other source of annoyance. Mission accomplished Oracle stands staring at the two with her arms crossed.
Chauvinist meet afthole. Up close and personal.
If nothing else, the cursing should be spectacular.
------------ OOC: Mirage as projectile with Nightbeat target with player permissions.

"You ain't even close to pretty enough for me, Mirage," he snaps back. "And one of these days, you'll see a knife between the servos or a kick in the bearings is a lot more useful than any of your crap."
Nightbeat has rather superb reflexes and good visual acuity. It should not quite be possible to take him by surprise this way, but his guard is rather down.
As it is, he ends up in a pile of arms and legs with Mirage on the floor. "Get your ivory coated skidplate offa me," he growls. He spares an irritated glance for Oracle as well. "And what about you, ya dipstick dame? What'd you go and do that for?"

"Probably for the same reason anyone else would," Pee-Dee says as she peeks into the training room. "Have any of you seen Dai-Janku? We've got a date tonight."
By which Pee-Dee means they're going to beat the tar out of each other.

Oh, slag.....
Mirage stifles a groan as he tries to get his arms and legs untangled from those of the Detective beneath him. That was...highly unexpected. Mirage has a feeling he will have quite a lot to make up to Oracle later, if this move was an indication of her mood.
//I think, perhaps, I might have preferred to be shot. His aroma is...most unpleasant this close.// Of course, Nightbeat could smell like the finest flower in Botanica's garden, and Mirage would still say the Detective stinks. Just to be contrary.
Mirage dips his head to murmur very quietly against Nightbeat's helm, voice hard, "I know more about knives in the back than you think, Detective." Mirage then gives Nightbeat a quick kiss on the nose before rolling off him and smiling cheerfully up at Pee-Dee.
"Haven't seen him, love!"
OOC: Kissing Nightbeat's nose done w/ permission. >_>

An unhappy flexing of Oracle's hands is her only reaction to Nightbeat's further proving he's a macho idiot. Intellectual he may be, but she's starting to wonder exactly how smart he is.
And then Pee-Dee has wonderful timing, and Oracle grins over at her. "I haven't seen him either, sorry. I assume you've already checked the lounge?" At some point she's going to have to see if Pee-Dee has any idea about Nightbeat's interest, probably not considering that date comment. She could be wrong though.
//Hm. Well, with what gun Mirage? You should have asked me not to stab you if you were covering your bases.// At least Oracle sounds a bit more amused this time, even if her posture isn't really any more relaxed.
She can't quite manage to contain a huff of amusement at the kiss. Whatever her opinion may be, that's not going to go over well with Nightbeat she doesn't think.

Nightbeat would be having steam coming out of his ears, if such a thing were possible. Pee-Dee's comments had already gotten him worked up (him, jealous, no sir. Nope. Not at all). But then Mirage had to go and... !
He's up and his first comes around and connects with Mirage's helmet before he even knows what he's doing. "I ain't your love and you couldn't afford my rates if I was!"

"Thanks," Pee-Dee says as no one has seen Dai-Janku. Then Nightbeat goes and attacks Mirage.
The Junkion copper sighs. "Can't take you out anywhere."

Mirage was expecting Nightbeat to explode, hoping for it in fact, so the spy is rolling even as Nightbeat's fist shoots toward him. The spy still takes the blow though; he was really not in a position to outright avoid it. But at least it only dents his side vents, rather than knocking Mirage down and out.
Of course, the spy goes invisible as he rolls. Of course.
//Nightbeat, daaaarling,// Mirage drawls- over shortrange this time, so everyone in the area can hear. //You would be surprised what I can afford. But I must say, I sincerely doubt that such unseemly displays are the best way to win the lady who has so obviously taken your fancy.// Mirage is silently moving closer to Oracle as he talks.
//But I could be mistaken. What say you Pee-Dee, does this help your opinion of him, or hurt it? Or perhaps, you have no opinion at all?//
To Oracle alone, Mirage replies: //You have a point. I imagine I will pay for that little oversight, will I not, my lovely?// Mirage sounds..much less worried at that prospect than he ought.

Yep she was right, that didn't go over well at all. Not unless decking someone is Nightbeat's version of a fond hello, which she doubts.
As Mirage goes invisible she can't help but straighten slightly, but she really doesn't think he's going to be stupid enough to try something with her right now. But having essentially just said 'smelt it all' she doesn't really take what's going on too seriously anymore. Her possible question about Pee-Dee knowing about Nightbeat's interest might have just been answered anyway.
//Possibly.// She replies back to Mirage. //But you'll know better for next time won't you.//
