Rodimus does, indeed, flank Emirate Xaaron. Unfortunately, his cheap little troops eventually get mowed down pretty quickly by Emirate Xaaron's tanks. Meanwhile, he spends entirely too much focus and funds on trying to find a 'good' boat, deciding he likes their movement range. This proves a mistake, as the submarines prove unable to fire onto land. D'oh!
"Yeah, it is pretty complex," Rodimus allows, frowning as he hits an impasse.
Then he looks around at the others. "Just so you guys know, I would not treat real troops this way."
He feels the urge to clarify that suddenly.

Sending wave after wave of newly created troops off to nearly certain doom?
Emirate Xaaron would never-
Ahem.
Emirate Xaaron has realised that is an inappropriate thing to do to real people.
After some trial and error.
He agrees, maybe a little too quickly, "Yes, that would be quite inappropriate." He pauses and frowns. "Why is there a flashing bullet on my megatank?" He pauses and looks a bit odd, like he just realised a joke made at his own expense, and he steeples his fingers. "Please don't read anything into how many megatanks I've made."

Optimus wholeheartedly agrees with Rodimus, but then Xaaron seems very sharp in his response. But, once again, people here are worried with taking video games seriously.
For the sake of the enjoyment, he says, "I think at this point we can all agree that these games are just that--games, and that any similarity between them and the real world is purely simulated and our actions in them should not be dictated by, nor be an indication of, how we act in real life."
And why is there a flashing bullet? If Optimus could find the darn manual perhaps he could find out!

Eventually Emirate Xaaron's megatanks wipe out most of Rodimus's smaller, cheaper troops, and Rodimus is forced onto the defensive. At Emirate Xaaron's comment, he frowns.
"Why would I need to be warned about that?" he asks, then gestures. "I mean, I've got two submarines!" Then he chuckles at Optimus. "I'm just pointing it out since this was apparently a concern earlier, that I might kill myself if I don't hold true to my morals, or something."
He shakes his head.
"Nope, no desire to kill myself here!"
He frowns as his turn ends. Now one of his little dudes also has a flashing bullet on it!

"I suppose there is the old worry about acting and being."
Emirate Xaaron believes he understands now what a flashing bullet means, but he refrains from explaining his insight. Rodimus Prime is a bright boy. He can puzzle it out on its own.
Besides, he has a new question, "Why is there a flashing box with an X on it on your submarine? What is with you and submarines, anyway?" Emirate Xaaron is really not grokking this odd and sudden love of aquatics Rodimus Prime seems to have. Sure, there is a fair amount of water on the map, but it doesn't seem like the water body is very strategically important. Emirate Xaaron can just keep his artillery plunked there and shell anything that tries to enter his port.
He sees that Rodimus Prime is building his own megatanks now. (No, they're not related to Megatron.) That will be tricky to deal with, and there is still one corner of the map that Emirate Xaaron is uncertain about, but his infantry should be able to scope it out in two 'days'. What surprises will they find down there?

Optimus agrees with Xaaron's logic. But he hopes the point has been made. But he does give Rodimus an 'encouraging' pat on the shoulder in response to his statement on not killing himself. "Excellent progress. Keep it up!"
Apparently video games make Optimus a bit of a smartass. But at least he's a good-natured smartass.

Rodimus smirks as Optimus gives him that encouraging pat on the shoulder. "I'll see what I can do," he answers dryly.
"I liked their movement," Rodimus admits when Emirate Xaaron asks what's up with Submarines. "I didn't realize they couldn't attack things on land. Real submarines can attack far inland! I was figuring this could at least go, say, a square over."
Rodimus attempts to switch to megatanks, but he's too far behind, and Emirate Xaaron appears to be pumping them out at an alarming rate. It isn't much longer before he's overwhelmed, and the game belongs to Emirate Xaaron.
Rodimus shakes his head, confused. "How did you make so many so fast?" he asks.

Emirate Xaaron smirks and teases, "Well, I put out plenty of radionuclide special and put an arena match on the holoscreen..." Then, he sobers and explains, "If you have an infantry unit capture a building two turns in a row, it'll change colour, and you get more funds. Taxes, I suppose. Or loot. But I prefer to think taxes. More orderly, albeit less honest."
He leans back and looks up at Optimus Prime, suggesting, "How about the Primes play, to cover all the possible permutations?"

Optimus seems to be getting very relaxed. It helps that these Autobots are much less rigid than the high command of his own reality. But playing a friendly competitive game helps him get more comfortable with these people than usual.
"Sounds good to me." Optimus says, amused at the Emirate's natural video game expertise. "Are you sure a couple of games didn't make their way up to you alongside those reports?"
He decides to go looking for another game so that he has something ready when this one ends.

This game is over, actually, and Emirate Xaaron has won.
Rodimus smirks faintly. "Ah, I see. So obviously I focused too much on the enemy and not enough on conquest!" he obseves, tone amused and teasing.
He settles further into his seat and looks over at Optimus. "So, which game's next on the agenda?"

Emirate Xaaron admits, "I never said I had no experience with games. I have a bit of skill playing full-stasis and other such games." And the ocean a bit wet, too. "But that I haven't played any video games. I always preferred simulations with facsimile constructs over solid light hologram rooms. Solid light hologram rooms never really get the smell right."
Also, they're filthy Decepticon technology. Which is now installed on the ship. Emirate Xaaron likes technology, however he manages to get it.
He shoots a slightly disturbed look at Rodimus Prime. Focused on conquest? Was he really? Emirate Xaaron drops the controller in a hurry and moves out of the way, back to the back. He stretches a bit, joints creaking. He excuses, "It's just a game."

Optimus was too busy rummaging to notice Xaaron's reaction to Rodimus' remark in jest. Hmm, this one looks good.
He turns around holding a new disc case. "Hey, what about 'Why Sports Resort?"
He's holding a copy of Wii Sports Resort.

Rodimus gives a briefly wider smirk as Emirate Xaaron drops the controller so hurriedly. He lost the game, but he still scored a few points!
"Good game, Emirate," he congratulates, dropping the smirk, then he turns and frowns at the game Optimus just held up.
"I think it's 'Wii,'" Rodimus says uncertainly. He didn't really have time to play video games after he became Prime, but he's still heard things about the games from time to time.

Xaaron has timed out, Optimus moving to post
"Yes, Xaaron already said that we were playing and.." Optimus looks back at the cover of the box. "Oh. Wii, not we."
This is a large box! In addition to a game disc There are two white sticks with a soft plastic cover on them. They look like controllers, but where are the cables? Shrugging, he passes one over to Rodimus and starts the game up.
He reaches the menu for selecting the game type. "Let's see.. I didn't realize how many terran recreational games there were! And look, it's on a video game--another recreational task!" He's clearly amused by this.
It's about now that Optimus realizes he has a cord on his white stick. Presumably he's meant to put that over his wrist? Let's see!

Nothing good can come of two Primes sitting around fiddling with their white sticks. "Yeah, there is something a bit recursive about playing a game of a game," Rodimus notes, slipping the strap for his own Wiimote over his wrist. Of course, it gets even weirder if someone is playing a game of people playiing games about playing games, but we won't get into that. Rodimus looks at all the choices and shakes his head. "Let's see... eenie... meanie... minee... moe!" He closes his eyes and clicks one completely at random, then opens his eyes again. "Hnh. Archery, huh?" Then he shrugs.
