Day 37, Open Autobot thread
Elita really needs to step it up.
At least, that's what she thinks. She's already read and re-read the entire archives. This group has been through so much! And even though they have some civilians with them, they're all so skilled! She's never before thought of herself as a liability or as particularly unskilled, but she feels...almost inadequate next to these other 'Bots.
Best to warm up with some simulated sparring, she thinks, as she calls up a hard light dummy. Now to get to practicing.

Cue one civilian.
If anyone here needs training and practicing more than Elita, it's Long Haul, and while Long Haul's usually pretty busy, he tries to come in to teach himself when he can.
He's still not very good.
The Constructibot trudges into the training room, shoulders slumped and head lowered. He's not in a bad or sad mood or anything - that's just normal Long Haul. When he sees the training room occupied, his optic band flickers.
"Eh, sorry," he answers, and starts to turn back. "Didn't realize the thing was in use."

As part of his now daily routine, Prowl goes to the sparring area to practice. He can scarcely be heard walking up to the room, and quite accidentally blocks Long Haul's progress out.
"Ah, excuse me," he says, sidestepping him quickly and entering the room. He looks up at Elita-1 and then slightly cocks his head, recognizing her as one from his own reality. "Hello, miss," he says and then looks through the room. He turns his head back to Long Haul. "I believe all three of us had the same idea," he smiles. "I was going to start my daily practice. Shall we train together?" he looks from Long Haul to Elita-1.

Elita is in the midst of grappling with her faux opponent when she registers Long Haul's arrival.
"Wait! You don't- ooff!"
The momentary distraction resulted in her getting thrown, and she lands hard on the training room floor. She stretches a hand out toward Long Haul.
"Hold up! Really you don't have to go. I mean, there's plenty of room here, unless you were wanting to do something more than regular training and even then we can probably compromise," she rambles as she pushes herself up. That's when she notices Prowl.
"Oh...hello!"

Long Haul's single optic band brightens as Elita-1 is knocked to the floor. "Oh! Oh, sorry!" he turns around to help her up. If he does manage to help, it may be noticed that despite the fact that he's the shortest robot in the room, he's much, much stronger than he looks.
He looks up as Prowl makes his offer, as well as listening to Elita's suggestions, then chuckles in a somewhat self-depreciating manner. "Well, uhm... see, I'm not so sure I'd be up to your all's level, y'know? I was just a builder and 'hauler before I got here. Decent enough in a bar fight, sure enough, but that's about the extent of it. Name's Long Haul, by the way," he adds, moving to shake the hand of first Prowl, then Elita, if allowed. If they don't respond, the hand will just hand there for a moment, then lower.

While Oracle heading for the training room is hardly unusual at all, to her seeing so much activity around one is. Did someone schedule a training session and she missed the info?
Arriving just after the door clears, she pokes her head in curiously.
The comments make it not sound like anything official, still seems interesting though and she leans against the door frame to watch for the moment, without coming into the room. "I take it everyone had the same idea?" And thanks to Long Haul, she might get introductions to the two she's not familiar with as well. Useful.

Prowl glances over at Oracle, nodding his greeting.
"You could say that. I have been coming early in the cycle every cycle to practice, and then once again later at night. I am running a bit behind and I believe I found who uses the room when I am not here." he says, turning and then shaking Long Haul's extended hand for a brief moment. "It is good to meet you, and you as well, Elita-1," he looks to her and then turns, inputting a code to the simulator to bring up a training dummy that stands still and then stands a bit away from it.
"I hope you do not mind, I shall be beginning my training soon. It is good to keep a sort of familiar routine, don't you think?" he smiles slightly over at the others.

Elita appreciates the hand up from Long Haul and she gives the Constructibot a quick smile.
"Thanks." As she shakes his hand, she tilts her head and asks "Aren't you a bit short for a construction worker? Though you've obviously got strength where it counts."
She does wonder for a moment how Prowl knew her name; they haven't met after all. She tosses it up to styling similarities and a bit of deductive reasoning. She, however, isn't sure who he is; there are still a few 'Bots from her reality she hasn't met yet.
Elita waves at Oracle. "Looks like this is the in place to be! I'm Elita-1, obviously," she grins at Long Haul and Prowl in turn, "And while sticking to a routine is fine and dandy, not taking advantage of training with a diverse group if opportunity presents would be a bit silly on my part. Considering my ability, I need to know who can do what, and what's handy for me to borrow at any given time."

"Eh?" Long Haul turns towards Elita-1. "I'm just fine for construction! Everyone on my team back home was this size! Actually makes it easier to build when you're a smaller robot. I mean, sure, you need ladders and whatnot sometimes, but it's easier for a short person to get a ladder than for a big person to work all hunched down in a small space, y'know?"
At Prowl's talk of routine, Long Haul rubs the back of his head, which he tilts a bit, the confusion showing in the way he holds that tilt. "Routine? I dunno. I done routine all my life. Seems kinda dull, to me." Then his optic band flickers as he belatedly processes something Elita said, and he turns towards her.
"Whaddaya mean, 'borrow'?"

Oracle smiles slightly and nods an acknowledgment in response to the wave, still leaning against the door frame with her arms folded. "Good to meet you Elita." Hopefully she moves out of the door before anyone else attempts entry or egress from the room or even with one wing out of the way it might be an interesting fit.
"There is something to be said for a routine, as long as it doesn't make you predictable at the same time. Once you get into a habit it tends to be easier to maintain whatever behavior you're attempting to enforce. In this case making sure an appropriate amount of time is spent training I would guess." She personally doesn't stick to routines because they do have the factor of making it easier to track someone, and getting too comfortable in a pattern is never a good thing as far as Oracle is concerned.
Tipping her head to the side slightly, she echoes Long Haul's question. "Indeed, what do you mean borrow? And how precisely does that involve tracking what people can do." She's going to assume Elita isn't talking about who has a hidden talent for making blown glass figurines, or something else as inane.

Prowl is careful to read up on those that hail from his own dimension. He listens half-sparkedly as he begins striking at the training dummy, quietly and dangerously. Each blow, if on a target that was living, would severely debilitate that target, if not worse. He hops back and then throws a shuriken into the chest of the target and then stops.
"I keep a routine to hone my skills," he says, and then looks up and at the target. A slight smile crosses his face before he turns and looks up at the others. Beating on the target did help his mental state a bit, as it usually does. "My name is Prowl," he says, bowing his head slightly in greeting.

Prowl's routine is impressive, and Elita-1 gets so distracted watching it she doesn't quite catch everything Oracle and Long Haul say. she does however grin when Prowl introduces himself.
"Oh! You're the other member of Optimus's team! I've been wanting to catch up with you." She looks him over. "Is that your normal look, or did you mod up*?"
Having two people ask about her ability, however, does get through and she turns back to them. "Well, you see, I don't actually have any offensive abilities of my own. Instead, I can temporarily borrow and copy other people's, to differing extents. Like, you're stronger than normal," she points at Long Haul, "I can increase my strength by downloading from you, or copy someone's weapon or special upgrade."
"So...it's rather good for me to know what abilities are out.
OOC: Prowl, it looks like from the wiki, you're Samurai Prowl. If I'm wrong or you aren't wearing the gear let me know and I'll edit.

Long Haul gives Elita a questioning tilt of his head. "Huh? Why wouldja wanna offend anyone?" Then his optic band flickers and he looks down at his arms, even more confused. "Being strong's offensive? I don't get it!"
Then he shakes his head and lower his arms, leaning back a little as he speaks. "Aaaah! Wait, you mean like offensive vs defensive, in the fighty sense. Got it!"

Downloading other's abilities hm? What an interesting talent. Oracle doesn't immediately volunteer that she might have something Elita could borrow, though she's a bit curious as to if it would work. Everything has a catch though, she wonders where the one hiding in Elita's ability is. "How exactly does that work? Do you just duplicate what they can do? And how long would you retain something like that?"
Finally moving away from the door and into the training room, she grins slightly at Long Haul's confusion. "Well I suppose if you decided to hit someone, they might find your strength offensive."

"Indeed I did," Prowl glances down at himself, and then shows that his helmet is removable for a moment, taking it off, and then nodding, before replacing it. "And yes, I am part of his... Team," he works slowly around that word, still finding it weird to say.
He leans up against the target, listening to her explanation of her powers. "And I am assuming they're temporary, unless you have not downloaded a power at all yet? You don't seem to have anything out of the ordinary on your body," he ventures to ask, "Correct me if I guessed wrong."
ooc: Yup, mod'd up to be very awesome indeed ^-^ .
