"You better, kid," Duskwing mutters as he enters the simulation chamber close on Mistwind's tail. "You make me look good, I'll keep you in one piece best I can."

With everyone through the door, Blitzwing follows through and closes the door behind them. The group finds themselves in a large hanger bay, with a lot of other Decepticons going about their business. However, its obvious that that business is war.
Some fliers mill about the place, others nervously chatter amongst themselves. Others still receive last minute work from technicians. A few obvious non fliers can be seen, some boarding transports, while others take up positions in case the Autobots get an assault team into the hanger. The general atmosphere in here can be summed up as resolved nervousness, as veterans and first timers alike prepare for battle against an all too obviously deadly foe.
"So, we still have about 5 or so minutes before we engage. Armories behind me, as well as some data slates that'll give those interested a better picture of exactly whats going on." Blitzwing says as he reaches into subspace and retrieves a data slate, though this one has 'Classified' emblazoned on it. He reaches to give it to Starscream.
Now he just has to wait for a betting pool to be set up.

Starscream accepts the mission outline and looks over it bored. He smirks at the part of the note explaining 'serious consequences' for failure. Cute. He doubts the look he gives Dead End at his remark is going to get any more sense out of him.
He peruses his crew. Hnn.
"It would appear that our priority is to keep me functional for our secondary objective. And before I hear any remark from anyone about ego, cowardice or something like that, if you are capable of anything more technical than changing your own sparkplugs. If not, then my skill set is essential." He turns to Duskwing. "How maneuverable does this one make you when he aids you?"

//Last I checked!// Wildrider takes out his blaster to check it's got a full charge, even though that probably won't matter in a simulation environment.
Wildrider is genuinely put out that he has been placed in charge of getting broken whilst everyone gets to break stuff. That was never in his job description!
//You think if I bust some stuff up I'll get a reward for actin' above and beyond the call of whatever?//

Skystrike checks the diagnostics of her shoulder guns and thrusters as she listens to people generally talk and shuffle about. She only briefly pauses to look up at Starscream when he lists their priorities before nodding and rumbling a 'Yes sir' and striding off to find the data slates Blitzwing had mentioned.
Watching someone else's back was nothing unusual, and the implication that there was something tediously technical about to occur sometime during the simulation settled that. This was, however, in space and Skystrike was admittedly a bit on the rusty side here.

Dead End muses that Blitzwing managed to make the staging area look like the Rebel hangar near the end of "Star Wars"--only with Decepticons. Does that make Starscream Luke Skywalker?
// I figure if we break the guns, they won't shoot us down, and we can get into the mayhem. Of course, they're probably armored against our weapons, so it won't matter. Don't forget your forcefields--the guns are probably big enough to vaporize us outright, but it might help with the smaller stuff. // Because Autobot lasers are notoriously underpowered, especially if they're on TV, but Dead End feels compelled to giving his usual depressing analysis.
Oh look, Starscream is giving him funny looks. If he really wants to know, he'll ask. He was probably just evaluating the chances that the Stunticons would totally blow their part of the mission and embarrass him in front of everyone.
Damn. He was doing to get shot again by Starscream. He just knew it.

Duskwing shifts nervously. He hasn't gotten his orders yet, and they're about to launch, and that makes him edgy. He'd rather be told exactly what he's supposed to do to whom; that way, he could just go and shoot who he was supposed to shoot, and not get yelled at for screwing things up in some incomprehensible way because he didn't guess what the bosses really wanted.
"So whadda we doin', again?"
Then Starscream asks him about flying with Mistwind. Duskwing gives Starscream a suspicious look, and steps in front of the little guy protectively--or possessively.
"Not much. He gives me a speed boost, see? Still gotta handle the extra speed with my own flaps, see?" --- Swapped places with Mistwind by mutual agreement

If the mutterings of Duskwing were a deal, then that's a deal good enough to accept gratefully. At least it didn't sound like the threats Mistwind used to be hearing.
He watches curiously as Commander Starscream and Duskwing discuss him. He tilts his head, "but that's what we're calibrating for" seemingly dismayed he crosses his arms and turns halfly away, "Don't think we can work in unity right off the bat; we need to learn working together effectively"

The data slates have some general information on the Autobot cruiser, such as its estimated crew size, the locations of the ships weapon batteries, and the general area where important subsystems inside the ship can be found. Its mostly useless information.
Whats is of use, though, is the mission outline that it contains. The slate states that you strike teams mission is to enter the sip through any means available and disable the ships engines and power generation facilities. You are of course allowed to break anything or anyone else you might find at your commanders discretion.
"All hear this, all hear this. Main attack force has go to launch. Repeat, Main attack force has go to launch. Strike teams prepare to assault." The perhaps over loud intercom blares out, followed shortly by most of the Decepticon fliers blasting out of hanger bay as the heavy shake and thump of heavy blaster turrets on the ship can be heard as it opens up on the Autobot ship, which gives a similar response from its own guns.
"Time to see if we all remember how to fight in space. Dead End, Wildrider, you can hitch a ride in me or on me if you want. won't do to have you barely out the hanger while were already in the cruiser." Blitzwing says as he pushes himself off the wall he was leaning on.

So it's not just a plain boost, if anything it's impeding on Duskwing's flying skill until teamwork and experience can be established. Hmm.
Starscream moves to shove Duskwing aside. "At least try not to get this jumpy when we are in the mission." He was asking a question. If he really wanted to use Duskwing, or something like that, he would have just taken him.
"All right everyone; wait until the Stunticons have engaged the enemy weapons. Dead End, Wildrider, let Blitzwing carry you to the front line, and activate force fields. Mistwind, transform and connect to Duskwing; Skystrike, transform and fly by me.
As soon as Blitzwing begins escorting the Stunticons out, Starscream will transform and follow.

Dead End's advice is good advice--break the guns and they won't get shot. Wildrider is going to take it under advisement!
Wildrider goes up to Blitzwing at his suggestion. Scale is a weird thing in Transformers--If Blitzwing is a big jet then he'll travel as a passenger. If he isn't that big a jet, Wildrider will lie on top of him and hold on for dear life.

The loud pre-battle announcements and the rush of crowds were familiar at least. Upon hearing Starscream's orders Skystrike sets the slate aside and turns to stride over to his side as ordered. She'll transform and follow him out.

"We fly Air Blitzwing," Dead End notes, and climbs aboard. Blitzwing, as has been observed before, can be large enough to carry several 'Cons if necessary.
// Guess we only have to worry about Blitzwing getting himself slagged by his own simulation--at least until we get there. // Dead End observes to Wildrider. // Pessimistic as I usually am, I strongly suspect that somehow, that won't happen. //

Starscream's hand on his shoulder sends Duskwing stumbling back; he scowls furiously at the back of Starscream's wing--but then Starscream orders Mistwind to attach to Duskwing. Duskwing looks down at Mistwind and almost smiles. Starscream didn't take his really helpful new friend away. Yay!
"Hey kid, think you can latch on me now, and hang on when I transform? We didn't try that one yet. The piece of my back that you latched onto last time is one big chunk that doesn't fold, see? Figure you can manage it."
He reaches down to pick Mistwind up, if Mistwind is ready and willing.

"Sir yes Sir!" Mistwind half bows at Starscream's command before turning to Duskwing, nodding. "I can!"
Picked up by the seeker, he transforms overhead, landing on the jet's backside as requested. As his transformation completes whilst being attached, the turbines let out a whine as they warm up. //All systems ready, Duskwing Sir!//
