"I named and trained Jetfire and Jetstorm," replies Sentinel Prime, slightly sullenly. "They didn't even mention me to you?" Wretched little ingrates.
He puts on a smile and shakes Perceptor's hand, answering, "Great to meet you, too!" Not really, but it's something to say. "Prime's an officer rank, one step below Magnus. Our current leader and ruler of a free Cybertron is Ultra Magnus. Back home, anyway."
Where life is mostly sane.
So, this Perceptor experiments on people, too, huh? Sounds like it, judging by the chatter between Perceptor and Firebolt.
Then, his optics widen, and his jaw drops. Long Haul warned him about those... those... things, but the logistics officer could not prepare him for the true horror! Sentinel Prime recoils from Botanica like Dracula from the True Cross.

"I think they did mention you, but I didn't think I'd actually be meeting you!" She admits, as her ponytails fold back up and she rubs at the back of her head sheepishly. She kicks at the ground for a moment, and is thankful for the distraction that Botanica provides, even if it freaks out poor Sentinel. She looks over at him, and worriedly holds out a hand, before dropping it.
"Yes, yes, the flowers did their job. In fact... Dai-Janku says he likes me too," she says softly, blushing at admitting this, "And I like him, s-so it worked out really great-like! I... I am very happy that somebody likes me for me!!" She says a bit louder now, "And jeeze, I can't believe I'm saying it out loud to others that aren't him."

Wait. Sentinal named the twins? "Forgive me," Perceptor offers to Sentinal Prime. "I was unaware that Jetfire and Jetstorm were your creations." Why else would he have named them? "Although, in their defense, things were rather... chaotic. They have not had much opportunity to discuss their progenitor."
"Oh! Botanica!" he greets cheerfully, turning as she speaks, and thus, utterly missing Sentinal's horrified response. "Exactly the person I was looking for. I have those valance equations for the atomic substituions in the replicator mechanism. I hope they are helpful to you."
Curiously, absent-minded, oblivious scientist occassionally can catch something that parades just under his nasal ridge. All this talk of flowers and Firebolt's excitement summons up a warmly sly little smile for the Ferrari girl.
"Flowers, hmm? Am I to understand that you and Dai-Janku have come to an... understanding?" he inquires, grinning. Good for Firebolt!
Hmm... It is, apparently, a good thing that Perceptor lives in the laboratory; the lovebirds will likely appreciate the privacy!

"Why Firebolt, that is wonderful!" Botanica exclaims, beaming up at the young 'Bot. She tries to reach one arm around Firebolt to give her a quick hug. "I'm so glad. Having a companion can do wonders, can it not?"
She then turns her head toward Perceptor and nods, "I do hope so. The biosphere will eventually be truly self-sustainable, but for the time being..." she trails off as she juggles the items in her hands about so that she has a hand free, "...being able to replicate some of the plants' dietary requirements will be most helpful once my stores are depleted."
Through all this, she has been pointedly ignoring Sentinel's minor freak out (compared to Mayday's it is minor!). It's not like she isn't used to it by now, after all. So in the interest of politeness, she offers her hand to the newcomer.
"Good day to you. I am Botanica, Med/Engineering's second. My apologies for startling you with my sudden appearance. You are?"

Sentinel Prime looks as if Van Helsing over there has just poured holy water in her super-soaker an taken aim. But but but, he managed to shake hands with that human politician, right? And she has rank? Time for the old Sentinel charm. He plasters a smile on his face and reaches out to delicately shake her hand - delicately, because he doesn't want to touch her any more than he has to. He replies cheerily enough, "Why ma'am, I'm Sentinel Prime, at your service."
Then, he shoots a dumbstruck look at Perceptor and protests, hands in the air, "Oh, no, no, no! Me? What? No." Does he really look the paternal type? "They were rebuilt into their current forms by Perceptor, Wheeljack, and Red Alert, using some of Starscream's programming. Uhm. Not you. Obviously. A different Perceptor. Shorter." ...and he's just going to stop now before he can wedge his foot all the way into his mouth, down his throat, and into his fuel tank. But isn't Perceptor just thrilled to hear that his alternate gets up to the most interesting foursomes?

Firebolt doesn't mind the hug, but doesn't return it for a moment as she's sort of busy thinking of her new special number one. She giggles out loud and and then clasps her hands together and close to her body. She nods, looking up at Perceptor, "Yes, indeed! You know, I don't think I coulda done it if I hadn't gotten up graded and gotten my self confidence knocked a few notches up. Thank you," she bows a moment, before smiling up at him.
She then listens to Sentinel's explanation about Jetstorm's and Jetfire's origins. She thinks for a moment before saying, "Well, that still I guess, makes you a figure to them anyway. Not a father, but you know, I'm sure they look up to you. Cos you're cool, right?" She beams, trying to help distract him from his anxiety. She figures some sort of compliments seem to make Sentinel better. She does think he's cool, so it isn't lying either.

Botanica's return handshake is much less delicate than Sentinel's, quick and businesslike.
"Ah, yes. The young Optimus's acquaintance who was being so vocal. I recall the voice now." She manages to keep her tone neutral; that display really was quite unseemly.
"But I must be off. I have to keep the Valinte on it's feeding schedule or it gets quite testy."
She turns toward Perceptor, who is busy nodding in absent-minded agreement to something or another. "If you've the time to accompany me, I've something to discuss which you might find interesting?"
Botanica out of thread. Posing Perc with permission.

Ah. Rebuilt by his own alternatre. Yes, of cou--
His absent-minded nodding suddenly halts as he stares at Sentinel for a long moment. Wheeljack, yes, of course. Comforting to find that, not only does his friend exist across the facets of reality as well, but that they are apparently associates there too.
Red Alert is a little... perplexing, however, perhaps their Red Alert is not the same as his own.
But Starscream?
"Ah. Of... course..."
Starscream. Really. Well... no accounting for taste? Or something.
"Ah, yes, of course, Botanica," he stammers with a final wave toward Sentinel. "Good day, Sentinel Prime. And, again, congratulations, Firebolt."
Cue one bewildered scientist quickly wandering off after Botanica.
Perc out of thread, too.

Down the corridor a ways, an immense wall of white came around the corner and strolled up the corridor. Skyfire frowned down at a datapad held in one hand; he stopped abruptly, just short of the group and looked up from the datapad.
"Oh, hello. Firebolt and... you must be Sentinel, Optimus's friend." Skyfire smiled. "I'm Skyfire."

Sentinel Prime had honestly never thought that the Twin might looks up to him. The thought vaguely terrifies him, and he doesn't know why, and he doesn't want to think about it.
(They don't look up to him, anyway.)
As soon as Botanica is gone, Sentinel Prime pulls out a wipe to clean off his hand. Even now, her corrosive chemicals could be eating his hand!
He looks up Skyfire, and without missing a beat, and without letting a perfect smile waver from his face, he says mildly, "I wouldn't call him my friend."

Firebolt's attempts to try and cheer up Sentinel have failed! She visibly looks sadder, her ponytails drooping as she drops her arms at her sides and looks nearly ready to give up everything. "Oh... I failed at trying to be helpful," she mutters softly, before looking up and waving slightly at Skyfire.
She looks back up and then at Sentinel, wondering what the wipes were for, "Are your hands dirty?" she asks, giving her best guess. "I've not seen anyone around here have stuff like that."

Skyfire frowns at his data pad one last time, then tucks it way in his cockpit. "You wouldn't? Oh. I misheard then; I thought you were old acquaintances. That's third-hand information for you--not something to trust your life or fortune on. I've heard so many stories of fantastic planets or lifeforms that proved to be pretty much nothing after I ran them to ground."
He smirks slightly, and adds, "And then there's the supposedly harmless, unimportant places that turned out to be anything but! But I'm rambling."
He looks down at Firebolt and smiles. "What's wrong, Firebolt? Your antennae are drooping."

Firebolt shouldn't feel too bad. Sentinel Prime has the perceptive abilities of a rock.
And that is insulting to the Rock Lords.
Sentinel Prime looks over at Firebolt warily and mutters, "You can never be too careful."
These robot-organic hybrids seem horrific to him. They would be better off dead! But the leader here must be a true madman, even more warped than the hybrids, to give one rank!
It would be kinder to murder this Emirate Xaaron in his sleep and rid the universe of his taint. The man is old, right?
But enough of that. Baby steps, baby steps.
Still smiling, he answers Skyfire, "Oh, and a lot of people know of a Megatron, too," but that doesn't make them friends. "But Skyfire. You're another one of those Autobot fliers huh?"

How about another monkey wrench to throw into the works? Another large one, and black to balance Skyfire's white, in fact.
Jetfire hobbles into view from an adjoining corridor, grumbling to himself. He has, for the record, still not gotten those Decepticon symbols repainted yet. He should probably see about doing that. Soon.
"Ah! Skyfire!" he calls by way of greeting. "Just the mech I was looking for! Have you a few hours, lad? I've those charts I wanted to compare to yours. Time to see how outdated I am, after all these years. No time like the present and all that. I-- Oh, hello, there. Jetfire's m'name," he adds towards Sentinel, giving Firebolt a quick nod of greeting, too.
Miracle of miracles, he hasn't dropped a single bolt. Yet.

"They're ponytails," she mumbles as she shrinks back a bit, looking up at Skyfire and pointing at her head. "And satellite dishes too. And they're droopin' cos I tried to help Sentinel feel better but it didn't work!!" She focuses elsewhere as Jetfire comes stomping up and waves up at him.
"Hello Mr. Jetfire!" She says, and then snaps her fingers, "I have yet to give hugs out. I wanna yanno, try! It was one of my things I said I'd try to do when I got on the ship. Yanno, like, as part of one of those 'try to be more sociable' sort of thing." She looks up as innocently, and cutely as she can at Jetfire and Skyfire, trying to hope one of them will agree to it.
