Impactor hesitates. Didn't Springer pull this once already?
Wait. No.
His Springer talked him back to his senses. And did it without pounding him in the head. He owes him.
Impactor starts to move aside in order to let Springer up. He grunts. "Wish I knew. Something got into your head. You were going on about rebels and the Impactor you're 'programmed to remember.' Soon as this fight's over, we gotta get you checked out."

Springer nods, sitting up, still woozy. "Damn, you knocked me for a helluva loo--aaaghh!"
The triple-changer grabs ahold of his own head, teeth clenched. There's a lot of pain, but it soon dulls enough that he's coherent again, looking over at Impactor with a look of horror. "...what'd you do to me, you piece of rebel scrap!"
Springer rolls away, and gets into a defensive position, looking around.

Aw, slag. Looks like that check up's not going to hold until after the battle, after all.
"Knocked some sense into you, but apparently I didn't hit hard enough!" he shouts. He rolls back from his knees to a crouch on his feet and shifts, moving to bring his shoulder cannon in line with Springer. He doesn't look angry, however - his frown, the slightly wide optics. He looks... remorseful.
"I hate to do this, Springer, but I can't have you running loose during this business until someone gets a chance to figure what's wrong with you."
Damn it. His Springer talked him down. He owes him.
He hesitates.

Springer brings both of his arm-mounted guns to bear, and opens fire. He doesn't say anything. Springer looks a good bit rattled, actually. He keeps firing, until Impactor goes down. Then he rises, cycling air fairly heavily. His arms start to sink down, until that nasty pain hits him in the head again. He yells out in agony, stumbling around and into the wall. He starts to fall, but catches himself. "...I'm...I'm free. But... What do I do. I just..." He groans, punching the wall. The ship is under attack, and he's taken out one of his own combatants. The pain starts to come back, but he tries to bite it back. There's not much time, so Springer makes a radio call...----- OOC: Shootin' up of Impactor done with player permission.

In life, Impactor had been tank-tough and stubborn, and there's a chance that even after that blasting, he'd still be functioning. Badly damaged, but still in the fight.
There's a chance. But now, in his current state, there is no chance. Impactor falls, peppered through with Springer's blasts, and he does not move again.
OOC: Out of thread due to death. Or unconsciousness. They're about the same thing for Impactor.

Arcee is not running to Springer's rescue, much as she might wish to. No, she is making her way carefully toward Springer's last known position. He's her friend, but right now, he's a liability- even if she doesn't know exactly why.
A pained cry echoes through the corridors and she flattens herself against the fall, rifle at the ready. There's an intersection to cross before she reaches the hallway where Springer is supposed to be. Arcee creeps along the wall, pauses, then moves to swiftly cross that intersection.
She knows her Springer better than nearly anyone, knows his strengths and weaknesses. This isn't her Springer- but hopefully, he's enough like hers that the knowledge does her some good.

There might not be a lot going on in Twin Twist's head, but that just means there's more room for thoughts to rattle around when he does have them. Brainwashing isn't common to his reality. Decepticons do it to other Decepticons, sometimes, and the human once accidentally swapped the Decepticons to good and the Autobots to evil, but bad guys brainwashing Autobots is not something that occurs to Twin twist at the top of his mind when Rodimus says that Springer is, 'Compromised. Somehow Shockwave got to him. He's resisting, but he's not clear.'
What immediately occurs to Twin Twist is that Springer has betrayed them, for whatever reason. It happens sometimes. The other thought that runs through Twin Twist's head is that Xaaron asked for anyone tracking down Springer to call Xaaron or Rodimus. Brainwashing's not common in Twin Twist's reality, but executions, or almost executions are! Outback was nearly killed for being sassy to Ultra Magnus, Optimus Prime was put in front of a firing squad for impersonating himself (good times), Backstreet was worried about being executed, Roadhandler expected the gallows, and then there's Twin Twist himself, who was almost offlined for his mistakes.
The third thing is that Twin Twist has been on the other side of the firing squad. He asks Rodimus, sounding concerned, //I don't have to kill Springer, do I? I can just capture him?//
This isn't his Springer, but this Springer has a Twin Twist, too, and that Twin Twist can't be there, so Twin Twist reasons that he might as well. He's sure the other Twin Twist would want him to. Then there's Impactor. Twin Twist owes them both.
So while Arcee is being stealthy, Twin Twist is just blowing through the hallways as speeds that might well be reckoned breakneck. It's entirely possible that he nearly runs into her, but at the least, he'll make a good distraction for her, rushing in where Action Girls fear to tread like he is!

Springer is really busy at the moment, trying to fight one personality down. Which one is which right now, though?
Given that he's been talking to Shockwave, this is Dreamwave Springer.
A Springer that's currently very confused. He thought he had things figured out. Do some work for Shockwave, quash the rebel menace, get things sorted out.
But...between that reveal about Magnus, and Impactor's punch apparently making him suddenly locked in mental turmoil with another version of himself - now dealing with another whole set of memories - a lot of them match up: Stuff from arriving on Gillanan, the adventures that led to Pz-Zazz...
But the memories of home are different. Very, very different. There's a lot of respect of Kup in here, and that thing with Thunderwing. Aren't these the fakes that Shockwave gave him to work with? What's fake? What's real?
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" Springer bellows, running into a wall, then stumbles back into the middle of the hall, and amidst painful noises, something akin to Jekyll and Hyde plays out - though it's more like Jekyll and Misguided Jekyll.
"How can I get -out-? This is my head!" "No, it's mine!" "You're just a fake - something Shockwave cooked up and had Needlenose put in!" "No, that's not true...it can't be. Needlenose helped me!" "Needlenose didn't help you! He beat me up, and plugged you in! What the hell version of me is sympathetic to 'Cons?!"
Springer clutches his head with a dual groan, then hears something coming. He steps back, one arm to bear, gun pointed roughly in Twin Twist's direction.
"What do you want?!"

Arcee throws herself out of the way of Twin Twist and rolls the rest of the way through the intersection, coming up on one knee with her rifle pointed at Springer. The rifle doesn't waver, and neither does her voice as she snaps out a command to the Wrecker.
"Springer! Back up and back down!"
She shifts slightly. Her rifle is pointed just left of Springer's spark chamber. Close enough to cause possibly incapacitating feedback, but not kill him. She can see Impactor's body off to the side. Boorish as the zombie is, she hopes he's only mostly dead instead of all dead.
"Springer," she repeats, "Don't do this. Let us help. Please."

"What do you want?!"
There's a gun pointed at him, and he's chewed up from when Barricade tore into him but good with the flail. Popping up into robot mode, Twin Twist draws his own semi-automatic cannon-rifle and points it right back. Non-violent negotiation is not his strong suit. He looks from Springer to Impactor to Arcee, expression puzzled and pained.
Slag, Twin Twist is bad at this. Being taken in for fragging something up beyond recognition is something that happens to Twin Twist, not something he generally does unto others! He finally answers, "I want you to put your hands up and point any weapons out of the way."
That's how it's done, right? Then they just restrain Springer, wrestle him to the brig, and take Impactor to medical, right? And hope that Impactor doesn't wake up in the meantime and try to eat any brain modules?

For a moment, the arm stays up, albeit shaky as Springer looks back and forth between Twin Twist and Arcee.
Then Springer's arm turns back to him - the movements are tremulous, and Springer looks both pained and confused as the forearm gun points to his opposite arm, in the bicep area, and fires, blowing a hole through it.
Springer cries out, clutching at the new wound, dropping to one knee. He cycles air heavily, looking up at the others. Springer pulls his remaining weapons from subspace, and tosses them across the hall, out of reach.
"...I... I think I have him --gnngh-- repressed enough."

Arcee's finger tightens on the trigger as Springer's gun move jerkily. She's good enough, steady enough that when the Triplechanger shoots himself, she doesn't punctuate his pained cry with a shot to the spark. So close though. A hair more, and the shot would have been loosed
It still could be.
She doesn't move, doesn't stop sighting down the barrel. It could be a ruse. The Springer she knows would shoot himself to fool a enemy.
"Twin Twist, try and secure him. Springer, if you so much as twitch wrong, I will drop you. Understood?"

Weapons raining down the hallway. It's some screwed up version of Wrecker Christmas!
Twin Twist is baffled by Springer shooting himself in the arm. So, what, is there an evil Springer in Springer's arm? Luckily, Arcee is giving Twin Twist orders, and orders are something Twin Twist can do. She isn't too specific, though, which means Twin Twist has to think on his own, which is always a problem.
He thinks, what would Springer do? Work for Shockwave and flip out on Impactor and shoot himself in the arm. Not good. What would Impactor do? Get pasted by Springer. Not good, either. What would... Emirate Xaaron do? Slag, it's always hard to do that one, but at least he hasn't worked his way all the way to what Whirl would do; that always ends in tears. Twin Twist's optics dim as he walks stiffly over to Springer, thinking. He's thinking that Springer is known for his strength, so he'll probably break a lot of the ropes, chains, and cords Twin Twist has in subspace, but speaking of cords? He has detcord and... oh, okay, he can do that!
Twin Twist attempts to slap a small explosive charge on Springer's back, where Springer will have trouble reaching, and he announces, "Okay, that's an anti-armour charge, and I have the radio detonator here." He holds it up, thumb over the button. "So unless you want a new exhaust port torn through your torso, do what Arcee says."
She's clearly the brains of this operation. Twin Twist is actually impressed by her, how she's calm in a tense situation, how she coolly draws a bead even on a valued comrade!

Springer nods at Arcee, then at Twin Twist. "Yeah, I got it..." Springer's impressed with both of them, actually.
His face is...well, a mess - all scrunched up with pain all over the place, and Impactor's drive-by facelift didn't do much to help things. There's a hint of a smirk in there, though it's forced. "Hope there's some allowance for sudden movements due to pain. Not exactly a walk in the park here, y'know..."

"Some," Arcee says, "Not much."
"Remember Springer, I know a you very, very well. Which means I know just how smart, dangerous, and persuasive Springers can be."
Carefully, she stands, still keeping her rifle trained on the Wrecker.
"Go get Impactor's body, Twin Twist. I doubt the zombie is down for the final count, no matter what Springer did to him. We'll take Springer to the brig, and drop Impactor at a med station."
