Aww...Grimlock has one moment of good sportsmanship, and the Junkion and the detective play temptation cards. "...me Grimlock not sure. If you really think you can handle me..."
A couple of steps, and he's back in the ring. "Me Grimlock say be ready to pull yourself together after me done!"

Wedge's optics widen at Kup's words of Pee-Dee's ability to be taken apart and put back together. Come to think of it, she doesn't look anywhere near as dented as she was back at the quickswitch obstacle course. That and all those times she took a tumble in those pitfalls, she always came out alright. What Wedge definitely isn't expecting is for the Kup to just pull Pee-Dee's arm off like that. Well, he wouldn't expect anyone to be pulling off anyone's limbs. But it's so casual, as if Kup's explaining how to repair generators. The fact that Pee-Dee's dismembered arm is being pointed at him doesn't help the weirdness factor at all.
"I think I gotcha," says Wedge with a slight nod. Man, what sort of crazy engineering can accomplish that kind of stuff? Wicked cool. "So, how's this going to work?"
And what's up between Pee-Dee and Nightbeat?

Pee-Dee reattaches her arm casually after Kup hands it back to her. It was a clean break, so it isn't long before she's rotating it back and forth in the socket to make sure there are no burrs in her movements.
"Yeah, you know how you guys keep saying that you aren't built to come apart at the limbs?" Her rust-colored fist smacks hard against her open hand, and she grins nastily, showing off her sawblade 'teeth'. "You kinda are."
Her arm didn't come out of its socket at that jolt. Good! She gives the others a jaunty wave and steps into the ring with Grimlock. "It'll be while I'm fighting you, Ty-rex."

Nightbeat almost wishes he had a bowl of popcorn he could enjoy right now. This was gonna be good.
...So what was this strange feeling in his chest? A quick diagnostic confirmed that all his systems were functioning normally. So why should he feel so bad about sending that annoying excuse for a parking lot attendant against one of the most powerful Autobots this side of a Prime?

"You're welcome to try, lass," Kup murmurs so softly under his breath that he might easily not be heard over the noise of the training field.
(Well, okay. Nightbeat almost certainly heard it.)
Still, all he does is step outside of the circle, cross his arms, and narrow his optics to watch the battle's progression, while he mentally prepares lists of dos and don'ts of combat when dealing with a Dinobot or a Junkion (the big one is just generally 'if you have a choice, don't'), predict likely moves, and so forth.
Expect a lot of commentary from the peanut gallery.

Don't worry, Nightbeat! It's just training. Grimlock's not gonna chop her up into itty-bitty pieces or anything. Then again, she'd probably recover from that.
Ah well. Time to get down to business! Kup says she can take it, she says she can take it, Nightbeat says she can take it, so let's see her take it!
Balling up his right fist and drawing it back, Grimlock charges Pee-Dee, grunting and growling in focus. Kinda like when he charged Swerve, 'cept he's not mad. He draws back just slightly farther, and throws a heavy punch Pee-Dee's way when he's close enough, aimed for her torso.

Oh wow, this should be interesting. Wedge scoots over to the side of the ring, optics glued to the unfolding scene. Well, a demonstration is a lot more too the point than a bunch of instructions. He can't help but feel slightly fidgety about this all. Hopefully, no one will get seriously hurt in this...

Pee-Dee dodges to the right. No way in heck is she letting a punch connect if she can help it! They'd made her breakable, not stupid.
"I hear you Dinobots are big, strong lugs with no weaknesses," she comments as she pivots abruptly, ducks under Grimlock's extended arm to attempt a shoulder-slam. The impact makes a tremendous clang, and the Junkion bounces back and catches herself in a stumble.
"Guess that's true," she says a little woozily. "I mean, you dinged Kup up, and he can knock me on my aft three falls out of four."
Time to play keep-away for a little bit! 'Least until she can figure out the right way to handle this, and no, it's not to pull her gun out. That'd defeat the purpose of melee training.

Well, this is certainly entertaining so far!
Kick her aft, Grimmy, Nightbeat thinks.

Kup moves nearer to Wedge to provide his commentary and 'wisdom' over the battle as it unfolds, although is reaction is to snort at the three-falls-of-four thing. Of course, there's also the fact that just knocking a Junkion down isn't the trick, which is probably why he doesn't actually challenge the comment out loud.
"Now, see, lad, she's right about then being big and strong, but the 'no weakness' thing is a bit less on the money. Not much in the way of physical weaknesses - most folks can outrun or outride a Dinobot, even me. There's also the personality weaknesses. For example, Grimlock's a bit on the arrogant side, and ol' Megatron used to take advantage of that. You notice how we had him off balance for a bit early in that last match?" Never mind that Wedge wasn't there. Kup seems to have forgotten about that bit. "Same deal."
"It's kind of like fighting an oversized Tryslexian Jungle Lizard, which is to say, not something you want to do unless you've gotta. Luckily, Grimlock's on our side... it's a bit harder to recruit Tryslexian Jungle Lizards..."

Grimlock stumbles from his punch not connecting, wobbling slightly from her shoulder-slam, but staying on his feet. Turning around, he faces her. "Me Grimlock able do plenty more than ding Kup up! Now come back, me Grimlock show what me can do!" Again, his fist draws back, and a few steps forward. This time, however, his fist slams into the ground. It's not as strong as his previous ground-slam, but hopefully enough to take the Junkion by surprise, as after the impact Grimlock is up again, charging her.

The ground-pound has Wedge shifting for balance, but he listens to Kup's words and hangs onto every one of them. Seeing Pee-Dee's rebound from slamming Grimlock, Wedge's optics widen and there might be a bit of a sharp gasp happening.
"So what can you do when he's off balance? His armor looks pretty thick."

Pee-Dee's blocky heels make her a little more stable than one would normally expect for a mech in high heels. On the other hand, they're still ultimately heels.
The ground-tremors make her stumble back to keep her balance. The pounding of Grimlock's feet against the ground aren't helping her regain it quickly enough-
Grimlock's punch crumples her chestplate and sends her flying out of the ring. Not quite as far as a Cybertronian mech her size ought to, and she crashes far more heavily, too. One arm snaps at the elbow, and she snatches it up and begins to repair it.
"That was pathetic," she mutters, mostly to herself. "Kung Pow'd have my head if I fought him like that. And he'd be welcome to it."
Grimlock was big, strong, and tough. Slower than her, from what she'd seen, and pretty straightforward. She could fight him and win, she was sure of it, but not if she acted like this was some rookie she was dancing with.
How would she do this on Junk? Well, she'd get some friends together, for one.
For another, she'd take out his knees.
Pee-Dee stood up and feigned dusting herself off. Then her shield slid from its resting place on her left arm to a full guard position, and she charged the Dinobot. Someone watching who knew the way she fought would recognize that this wasn't a full-out charge from her.

Nightbeat hasn't actually seen Pee-Dee fight (well, not physically fighting. He's argued with her often enough), but he's also very good at reading another's body language.
Well, even if Pee-Dee gets the upper hand, this is going to be one heck of a fight.

"Well, ideally, what you do when he's off balance is turn around and run as fast as you can," Kup answers Wedge. "Or, if you're faster in alternate mode, transform and roll. If that is, for whatever reason, not an option, you look around and see what there is in the area that you can use against him." Kup, after all, once faced up to Chaos, a much bigger monster, using his wits... and a very, very large gun that happened to be there, anyway. "If you've got a lot of fast guys - because believe me, this is one case where you want a group - you try to move in, attack, and back out before he can strike, but keep in mind that in a real fight, he'd be using his flames, too, and sooner or later, someone's going to get tak-" then he cuts himself off as he hears the discussion going on at the battlefield.
"Hey! Hey!" Kup shouts, arms crossed in annoyance. "And just why the blazes is this a discussion of 'How much I can beat up Kup'?!"
Never mind that he had just been giving Wedge advice for fighting Grimlock.
