Unfortunately for Airazor, physics also say that she can't jump from the centers of the disks unless she uses her jets. And if she used her jets for that, then why not just use them to fly over the whole thing? No, the point is to be challenged, and thus she keeps jogging and jumping.
She's also taken by surprise when the disks fly out at Synapse, but as they aren't directly over her she gets a better look at them. "Birdies! And not of my type." She grins, and fires her wrist missiles at the next set that comes out.

Emirate Xaaron hits the deck as soon as objects start flying at him. However, he hits the deck onto a spinning disc, so he's now laying flat and spinning. This makes getting up at all tricky. The Emirate gets up onto to his hands and knees, trying to get his bearings. He mutters in reply to Rattrap, "Why don't you come up here and see for yourself? You only have your head to lose."
Of course, if there were enemies, they'd be able to shoot down, in theory, so he needs to get up and back out of the way of flying objects. Wobbly, he gets to his feet and jumps the last set of disks, only to find himself hip-deep in a puddle of mud. Hrm. Looks like he missed the boat, here.

As the the first disks shatter, thanks to Airazor's fire, more disks shoot out. This time they aim for anyone nearing the end of the disk field. Synapse rolls away as some come whizzing towards his prone position. They connect to the surface and shatter.
Quickly, Synapse rolls onto his feet, wobbling a bit as he catches his equilibrium. Jump, roll again, pause, roll--splat. If that mud comes up to Emirate Xaaron's hips, it comes mid-way up Synapse's chest. The odd texture of cold, gritty, and slimy sends shivers running up and down his frame. He doesn't flail though. If this puddle had been any deeper, he would have sunk for a few seconds before churning his way up quietly. That could result in either a very dirty scout or a very stuck scout. All that is a lot better than a very 'given away' scout. So quiet it is.
Synapse glances over at Emirate Xaaron before starting to half-swim, half-forge his way through the muck. If he stays ahead of Xaaron, then Xaaron can't see the stiff expression over his face.

"Decapitation ain't exactly my idea of a warm welcome," grumbles Rattrap as he rolls under another swinging bar and onto his feet. Whether or not Emirate Xaaron actually hears it isn't the point. Rattrap has to say it anyway.
He spies ahead, between a couple of gearshafts, Xaaron sinking into muck. Synapse follows shortly. And Rattrap promptly determines his yearly recommended allowance of mud has been met; he starts working in a diagonal line toward one side of the messy obstacle. He'll just run alongside, thanks. At least there are random divots to jump, just for a bit of spice. Maybe he should volunteer for training in a supervisory capacity from here out.

Airazor continues running and jumping, dodging and firing at any discs that come her way. She does note first Xaaron then Synapse jumping into the mud pool. If she tried that, then the mud would end up being over her head.
Besides, feathers and mud do not get along, even psuedoorganic feathers. So at the last disk Airazor jumps off to the side, intending to run along the side of the pool with Rattrap.

Emirate Xaaron frowns and muses, "There has to be some trick to this aside from slogging through the mud."
For one thing, it's way too deep for Rattrap and Airazor. What are they doing? They are running along the side, which seems a lot more pleasant. So what's Kup trying to say here? 'Look before you leap'? Yeah, well, that's easier said than done when one is being fired at.
He continues slogging toward the end of the mud pool, and hopefully the next obstacle will be a bit more forgiving.

Synapse hasn't quite figured out any other trick to getting through this mud. Granted, this mud thing is a little new to him but he keeps moving along.
It takes a few minutes, but eventually a mud-caked minibot makes it to the edge of the puddle and levers himself out. His visor flickers as the mud oozes off and Synapse begins to quickly scrape off as much as possible in order to rid himself of feeling. Intent as he is on getting himself cleared of ooze, Synapse isn't quite concentrating on the course ahead.
Here's for hoping that whatever's ahead won't knock him back into that puddle.

On the one hand, Rattrap isn't schlepping through mud. This is never a bad thing. On the other hand, he's quickly getting sick of jumping. And lucky him, up ahead is a steep climbing wall. A little taller than the average Autobot if his running guesstimate isn't too far off, wide enough for two, maybe three (if they're a little smaller) Autobots to climb side by side if they want to, with shallow, evenly-spaced ridges for footholds and handy knotted ropes – cables, whichever – to pull themselves up. The rough outside borders, realises the spy as he forges closer, might as well be rock walls.
So, no, it won't be knocking over anyone. He also doesn't get the excuse of not being able to climb it and just going around.
"Last I checked," he grumbles even as he gives himself a jumping start up the wall border, latching on and scaling upward, "my name was Rattrap, not Squirrel Boy."

"Just think of it," Airazor replies as she jumps up to start climbing on the other border, "as climbing up an elevator shaft." In other words, you're infiltrating again Rattrap.
Airazor's missing most of her normal grace as she climbs. Yes, the hand- and foot-hold are reachable for Maximals, but they're still better-suited for someone closer to a minibot size, and thus awkward for her.

Emirate Xaaron more or less throws himself at the wall. He goes after the handholds, disdaining the rope. A rope can be shot or cut. Handholds are a little sturdier, in general.
Those beast warriors do seem to bicker quite a bit, don't they? It seems to be a natural state for them. Perhaps it comes of packing a normal machine's allotment of snark into a much smaller body.
Now, what is on the other side of this wall? The end, perhaps?

Synapse hurriedly brushes off whatever mud is still clinging onto him before rushing after the others. The wall ahead brings a slightly relieved look on the scout's face.
Handholds suitable for minibot-sized mechs? Then Synapse definitely takes advantage of those, alternating between using those holds and ropes to pull himself up--whichever one is closest and most convenient for the quick up-and-over.

Oh, no. No, see, elevator shafts are actually almost fun, in a dodge the cars before you get crushed sort of way. And they have four walls. This, Rattrap determines as he watches Emirate Xaaron and Synapse scale right on up, this is about as entertaining as the flying mountain. And he blew that up.
"If dis is like an elevatah shaft, I'm da president o' Kaon Local Sigma-Four-Two," Rattrap grumbles to himself, throwing one leg across the top of the wall and pausing there to take in the rest of the course. Looks like a straight run to the finish posts. He can't help wondering where the pit trap is. There's always a pit trap, right? Ehh… it's probably set for Autobots, not Maximals. He might just be light enough to avoid tripping one if it's there.
First, it's getting down. Again. At least down is faster than up.

OOC: Airazor timed out, so skipping her. She can pose back in whenever.
Emirate Xaaron looks over the wall, down at the ground below them, patches of mud flaking off his frame. So gold and silver under the sun do a good job of baking.
He crouches for a moment, like a gaudy gargoyle, then, he grabs a rope and quickly shimmies down. He does not, however, let go of the rope when he reaches the bottom. Instead, still firmly holding the rope, he gives the ground a good, solid stomp.
The ground gives way. There's that pit trap Rattrap wanted.
Emirate Xaaron looks up and calls, "Don't just jump off the top. There is a pit down here."
He kicks off the wall, swinging the rope over the pit and he lands on the other side. The finish is just a short sprint now, but someone may yet (and probably will) overtake him.

"Thank you for the warning, sir," Synapse nods before sliding down a rope after the Emirate and kicking himself off the side of the wall. He makes sure to land exactly where Xaaron had, if the other is gone from that spot of course. If not, Synapse makes sure to land very close by, checking the surrounding ground for any other falls before quickly making more room. Never know what other pit traps to expect.
--That's why Synapse isn't making a straight break to the finish. Nope, he's cautiously testing out the ground and surroundings as he goes. The end is always the most treacherous part of a journey and deserves just as much attention and caution as the rest, if not more. Either that or Synapse's self-preservation protocols are kicking in and edging his actions with paranoia.

There's always a pit trap. It's in a rulebook somewhere, right after the section on effectively baiting your painfully conspicuous rope trap. Rattrap's pretty sure he's read it at some point, and apparently, so has Kup.
Rattrap wends the rest of the way down, partly by proper climbing and partly by making controlled, short falls to expedite the process. The last catch and release, swinging himself to one side and clear of the pit, he'll pay for that one later with a few sore servos. Small price, big payoff. He crouches into the landing and springs back up, taking off at a full sprint for the finish. Not that his best sprint is a match for even the slowest Autobot jogging. Slag, the only Maximal slower than Rattrap is Rhinox and even that's just a hard and fast rule.
