There was a screen in Eye-Fire's chest that betrayed some of his emotions to the outside world. Eye-Fire kept few secrets, and his emotions were one of them. If he didn't want you to know what he was thinking, you weren't finding out short of invasive methods.
Of course, Eye-Fire couldn't just run into medical and shoot Mixmaster through his knees an watch him drag himself away as Eye-Fire wanted to, at the very least Hook would rip him to shreds. This was not an optimal result, or anything approaching acceptable.
One of the ways to get around this unfortunate problem, other than shoot Hook (Which would be the equivalent of trying to put out a fire by dumping thermite on it.), was to get him on his side. This would be no small feat, but he was fairly confident he'd succeed or think up a place to dump the body and a good alibi.
The first place to check for him was Medical, then his room, and then a shallow grave- No, wait, Eye-Fire was thinking too far ahead. He'd be in a shallow ditch first....

Hook, at the moment, is in Medical, collecting some of the more specialist supplies he requires for the rebuilding of Hellbender. Rock on.

Ah, good. His target sighted, now he just had to find a good hiding point. Over there by the fabricators maybe... No, wait, wrong green and purple bot. He wants to shoot the one with the spay jets above his head.
Approaching Hook cautiously, Eye-Fire raises his left hand in greeting. His right is still twitching slightly.
"Hook, my good ma- I mean, my Lord, may I have a word with you?" He says in a voice that warbles slightly. He bears no obvious signs of damage, should Hook look to see if he's been getting acquainted with the wild life again.

Eye-fire is talking to him. Eye-fire does not sound distressed, but Eye-fire rarely does.
Eye-fire is, however, speaking rather unusually towards him.
Hook glances over his shoulder at the sniper-rifle briefly, expression wary. "Yes."

"I need to speak to you relativly urgently. The subject matter shall mainly revolve around this screen in my chest, Mixmaster, and what I propose to do about it. Secoundry subjects may include what you stand to gain." Eye-Fire says as he ticks the list off on his fingers, his scope aimed high as if he was looking up.
"Where do you want to begin?"

"What has Mixmaster done now?" Long-sufferingly, Hook turns to look at Eye-fire and see this screen in the sniper's chest.

"This screen is what he did. Currently, it shows nothing, but that's probably because it doesn't have a symbol for blind rage." He says as he walks a few steps back, flexing the fingers on his left hand as if he wanted to grab something with it.
"I know you probably don't particularly care about why this screen causes me such great Consternation/Anger/Resentment/Fury, and this suits me fine." Eye-Fire continues, his voice becoming completely monotone halfway through that sentence.
"I want fair compensation."
Maybe Hook knows that Eye-Fire's coding isn't 100% rock solid, maybe he knows he's recently been showing signs of malfunction.

An amused smirk quirks Hook's mouth. "I believe Mixmaster already has a device for revealing his emotional state. It's called a face."

"Sarcasm on your part aside, I'm sure you know what I mean. Specifically, I desire to observe the effects of a energy blaster shot cleanly through the knee joints of a specific Constructicon." He growls as he balls his fist and raises his arms, shaking with rage.
"I understand you might not wish for this experiment to occur. But the question you must ask yourself is not what you can do for for the marksman, but what the marksman can do for you." Eye-Fire says, suddenly lowering his arms and looking as if nothing was wrong.
This sudden veneer of calmness is broken by the *ERROR* message flashing on the screen.

Just like that, Eye-fire's words make the situation no longer amusing. "What the marksman can do for me is sit down."
Eye-fire is obviously in a precarious mental state. Most Decepticons are, as a matter of course, but most Decepticons intelligently avoid Hook when they're in the downslide to 'kill! maim! destroy!'.
Hook is capable of committing brain surgery, after all.

As is Eye-Fire, though from a distance and with the general result of death.
Though for a moment he looks like he might bolt, he dutifully sits himself down on one of the operating tables, and awaits further instruction.

Hook lays aside the supplies he collected to work on Hellbender and gets out his toolkit. "Now, Eye-fire, let's start with you telling me your diagnostic readouts on your processors."

He reads them out. They are not normal. At all.
"I thank you for imposing some discipline back into this unit. The chaos that had been injected due to this idiocy was most unacceptable." Says another, entirely different voice.

Hook selects the tools he needs from his open kit. The diagnostics the sniper is giving him are so far past unacceptable it isn't even amusing. Quite likely, he'll need a programming solution to this (nicing most of Eye-fire's mental processes back to the Stone Age for a few hours sounds good), but first, he ought to check that nothing in there was overheating.
He grips Eye-fire's shoulder, thumb at the base of the neck, when the very much not-Eye-fire voice speaks. Hook pauses, sonic screwdriver in his other hand.
"Who are you?"

"Irrelevant. All you need to know of me is that I'm the one who ensures that Eye-Fire kills with the maximum efficeny and follows his orders to the letter."
Suddenly with one fluid motion, Eye-Fire twists his right arm almost completely around and jabs his energy blaster into Hook's chest, a soft but high pitched whine indicating its charged.
"There are few that could match you at your function, so I don't want to destroy your lasercore unless I have to. Shall we talk?"
