Car Wash...of what? Definitely the wrong universe for Wedge.
"I guess not," chuckles Wedge, changing the angle of the spray. Then again, Gizmo hasn't met the singing shark, multiple-form Galvatron and at least the people in the carbot's world seem to notice when giant robots are fighting in the middle of their cities. "Wait, all six?" Whoa...sounds like a pretty long movie-night.
"If it's not a problem for you." The Buildbot grins as he levels a quick blast of water at Gizmo's helm before honestly getting to work. "Dunno how much experience you have in rinsing off a bulldozer." Wedge's voice is playful as he aims the hose at Gizmo's joints.

"Ack!" Gizmo sputters as he happens to turn his head at just the wrong moment, catching that blast of water right in the face. He pauses a moment to clear his air intakes before he continues. "Yeah, there's six if you don't count the different spin-offs they've added over the years. Though we can always split 'em up and watch one or two a night. Doesn't have to be a big marathon."
"Um, experience? None, actually, the only bulldozers I know are from the Constructicons." No, he didn't really clue in that Wedge was joking. "That's kind of funny, in our universe the construction vehicles are 'Cons, but in your universe they're 'Bots..."

With a clank and a piercing hiss as cooling systems reconnect and fire up, Swerve secures the last bolt and tightens it down. Only once he's finished with that does he slump and lean back against the wall, allowing himself a moment's relaxation.
I made it. He cycles air, forcing his ventilation into a slow, steady rhythm. It isn't easy to do when he'd rather pull in as much fresh air as he can as quickly as he can, but he does it. And with another high-stress repair job behind him, pain reduced to the dull soreness that comes with healing, temperature slowly dropping back to normal, he almost feels… good. He blames that on the relief and brushes it off to pack up his tools and supplies before clambering slowly to his feet. He's been left alone long enough for his work; the kids aren't paying any attention to him. He can hear Wedge and Gizmo goofing around and Primus knows what idiocy Sideburn's up to, but they've all left Swerve be. If he wants, he can just walk off quietly and not have to put himself out for a bunch of half-shifted brat Autobots. He won't have to be responsible for them any more.
It'll be like it used to be. Just Swerve looking out for Swerve and nobody else. He could leave right now and be free.
"…Stupid fraggin' kids," he snarls quietly and starts with a stiff stride back toward the group instead. Can't do that to them. They… they trust…. I'm supposed to look out for them, ain't I? He mumbles a few curses to himself as he stops and leans against the building, crossing his arms to watch Gizmo and Wedge screw around in the water.

"Aw, but where's the fun in that?" Wedge grins as he works around various places he might have missed while Gizmo stayed in his car-mode. "Get them all in one go and we don't lose the momentum." Here Wedge goes making a challenge out of things, but hey, they always make things more exciting. "Besides, it can be like a game. Last mech standing--er, still up--wins."
He finishes up the last of Gizmo with one last quick spray and holds out the hose to the carbot. Gizmo's comment about the Constructicons and a further difference between their universes earns an amused laugh from Wedge as he folds down into his vehicle mode. "What'd make it even more interesting is if they were a combiner team too."
At this point, as he shifts around slightly to find a good spot to stay in, Wedge notices Swerve against the building. "Hey Swerve! You need a rinse too?"

"Ooh, so a marathon!" Gizmo says with a grin. "That's the best way to see them, in my opinion. One right after the other. And is that a challenge?" He chuckles. "So what would the last mech standing win? A challenge isn't a proper challenge without a prize..."
He accepts the hose, and once Wedge transforms he starts hosing him down, starting at the front with his shovel. His comment about combiner teams makes him pause for just a minute. "That's eerie... the Constructicons ARE a combiner team. They're all green and purple, though, not orange."

Competition? Swerve's interest piques at the idea and he starts paying closer attention to the conversation. He still has no idea what it is they're talking about, but it involves a contest of some sort. That works fairly well by him.
"No," he rumbles dismissively at Wedge. He's still got sand in a couple of awkward places – cleared out of where it matters, though – and he's still too warm, but it isn't like he has to have…. "Well… maybe," he admits very grudgingly, staring at a trough a few feet away like it deserves to be kicked through the nearest wall just for being there while he flounders. He ought to change the subject and fast. "Later. So – what's this challenge you two're mumbling about, anyway?"

"Of course it's last mech standing wins!" Wedge practically beams, even in his alt-mode. The idea of an upcoming challenge and event is enough to the Buildbot into an eager mood. He pauses though, processors racing to come up with an idea for a prize. The competitions that Wedge remembers back home, it was mostly a pride thing. You win, then you win recognition which is something Wedge has always been eager for (though, if he would think about it, winning a movie marathon probably isn't the biggest deal...). But a concrete prize? What on earth--or rather-- what on Gillanan III would he or anyone else want? "How about winner picks the prize? Within some reason, yeah?"
"You're right next in line then," Wedge says, raising his shovel a bit so the stream of water could rinse at its flats. Swerve's reluctance is barely even noted though as the subject switches back to the future "Star Wars" challenges. "You up for it, Swerve? Gizmo says it's a 'marathon'."

"Yeah, within some reason," Gizmo replies, moving the stream of water over Wedge's chassis, making sure not to miss any spots. "Just some things we're not going to make available as a prize." He aint' giving up his laptop to the victor, for one thing...
At Swerve's remark he turns to face the red Velocetronian. "Um... Star Wars. Human films -- like holovids but in 2D. There's six of 'em, and we were thinking whoever manages to stay online through them all wins."

"I know about video," Swerve growls, glare flicking Gizmo's way. "I ain't stupid. The races got broadcast all over the place." His frown lessens just a little. "You wingnuts can have it. I thought it was gonna be a real competition or something… no sport in sitting on your aft watching recordings." He shrugs one shoulder, not really looking at either of them. "You wanna blow a bunch of your time with it, go ahead."
They could at least do something productive, like racing. Or Gizmo and Sideburn could race. Wedge could wave the flags.

Well, if Wedge is going to be doing something like waving flags, someone better make it out to be a big important deal or else this bulldozer is going to feel even more frustrated with his obvious lack of speed in this group. How about something more to do with power? Tractor-pulls anyone?
"You can still join us if you ever change your mind." Wedge unfolds back into robot mode, face displaying a slightly put off but hopeful expression. "I mean, the more the merrier, right?" He turns to face Gizmo. "I mean, what fun is there in beating only one person?" His last words are said with a grin and a wink. Oh yes Gizmo, this is a challenge and Wedge will be ready the moment they get back to base...though it will likely be delayed.
"Alright, I'm good now, Gizmo." It doesn't take too much of a rinse for Wedge to feel clean. He's used to clinging grit.

"Yeah, it's always open for all," Gizmo replies. He figures once they get back, they'll round up more volunteers for the marathon -- he can't be the only one in this base interested in a movie night, can he? Though he probably wouldn't be averse to a race sometime if Swerve openly suggested it -- he's never participated in one before, but he can stretch himself to try something new if he wants.
He lowers the hose once Wedge has indicated he's done. "Guess Swerve's up now..."

Swerve doesn't see his opinion changing any time soon. He's also stubborn and set firmly on his track, so unless there's something really interesting in those movies – preferably something high-speed – chances are good that he won't show up.
"I can clean myself off," he mutters, extending a hand to take the hose from Gizmo if the hacker will hand it over. "Either of you see one of those fuel stations anywhere around here?" That'd be useful once this is done with.

Pity Wedge doesn't know anything about the pod races in movie 1, or else he'd try that to perk Swerve's interest. It'd be wheedling, but that isn't something Wedge is unfamiliar with trying on teammates when passionate exclamations just don't cut it.
"Want any he--" the Buildbot cuts off as Swerve provides his answer. But before Wedge can protest and insist some teamwork, Swerve's question comes to attention. "I haven't seen any fuel station yet, but I didn't look over some of this place yet. Well, if you're sure that you don't need any help, we can look now and see if there's anything nearby." Wedge doesn't seem to find that idea too hot though. They'd be leaving Swerve behind. Again. What about Sideburn too?

Gizmo lets Swerve have the hose. "I haven't seen one either... but I haven't looked around much either. Hey Wedge, want a hand with exploring this place?" He really wants to make himself useful on this trip and not a liability.

Swerve's a grown-up. He can take care of himself. And Sideburn, even if Swerve thinks he needs a swift kick to the head for that "cute" smelt-slag as much as he needs a chaperone.
"Get goin'," he rumbles at the two of them, turning the hose in so that water splashes up his free arm; it hisses on the exhaust pipes, throwing up thick wisps and curls of steam. "It's not like me and the dipstick can't catch up if you wander off too far or get in over your blinkered heads." He's trying to be reassuring – in his own awkward, backhanded way – figuring Wedge is worried about running into more trouble. "And the radio still works."
