Spinister might possibly agree with Shockwave's assessment of Fleetwind. The Seeker is a very interesting fellow.
Scourge bears watching, full stop. The tanker truck is pretty much a walking heresy.
Spinister notes, glancing over at Needlenose's screens, "Decoy-happy bunch."

The giant* locust alights outside of the monitoring station. Almost immediately, Scourge is transformed. Stalking forward-when not hopping, he always seems to be stalking-he enters the station. Scourge was not the type to participate in exercises like this one, but he was certainly happy to watch, and watch he would. He looks around the room, noting who all was present.
“Well, gentlemen, how goes the game?” Scourge speaks loudly but politely. “If any one’s interested, I’ve got something I’d like to test out. Would make this far more interesting.” The scientists doesn’t truly expect his fellow Decepticons to approve of his idea, but no harm in trying.
*As compared to the Earth animal. Scourge is standard BW-sized

There is not that much to comment on. Though, like Spinister, Shockwave notes that several groups are opting for decoys. It is a rather predictable choice, not creative at all really. But perhaps they will use their decoys in a creative manner.
He nods at Scourge's entrance. Shockwave still expects Scourge (This is not the Prime you are looking for) to threaten Scourge (gives the Orkin man nightmares) with a giant can of bug spray if the locust does not choose another designation. Likely it will only take one too many instances of miscommunication for the tanker to exterminate the Predacon with extreme prejudice.

The so called "beast warriors" fascinate Ratbat, at least from a design point of view. That many of them have managed to be significantly more energy efficient than even minibots or cassettes certainly suggests that there is something to them.
Personally, he considers it a good idea to simply have one or the other of them dissected.
"A simple strategy, but not without the potential to prove itself effective. I shall be interested to know how it will play out."

"I'm assuming the simulation has some built-in means to tell the flags apart?" Needlenose asks Spinister. "With all those decoys around, it could get amusing if anyone manages to lose track of their own flag. Of course, one problem all sides face is that no one really has the manpower to protect multiple flags and go on the offensive. Do they protect a fake flag and leave the real one unguarded to make the lie more convincing?"
"And, erm, Scourge... no. I'm thinking we want to keep the unknown outside factors to a minimum this go-round."
That, and Scourge is faintly creepy.

"Not this time," Spinister answers Scourge. It strikes him as pretty weird that they have two Scourges. One of them needs to get killed by GI Joe and rebuilt with a new name. It's the only solution.
Spinister is leaving the door open to someday testing diseases during a training session. Bad Spinister, bad!
"The game should be starting soon," he also adds. Finally, he answers Needlenose, "Uh-huh. The game keeps track." He keys in a command, and the location of all the true flags pops up on a monitor.

Scouge shrugs. "Right, right. Don't want any outside variables contaminating the experiment." On of the insect legs on his left arm twitches, slightly. Perhaps next time.
Scourge makes his way over to somewhere he can properly see the monitors from. "So... Decoys. An interesting ploy, definitely reasonable. I'd cover them with toxins, but not everyone has those." The thought of toxins reminds Scourge that he could really use some test subjects. Perhaps the local wildlife would be workable, at least when targeting organics...
The other Scourge could potentially prove interesting. If he ever decided he was sick of having someone share his name, well, he'd learn why exactly nobody had exterminated the Predacon before. Scourge had no doubt one of his creations would disable Scourge. Scouge also was beginning to think he should start referring to himself and Scourge differently in his internal monologues. Scourge's insect leg twitched again. He'd have to look into that. Perhaps he'd taken some minor damage.

"I suppose it'd be more interesting if all of my teams weren't doing it," Needlenose snorts. "Well, at least it's not all they're doing, but..." He narrows his optics, pauses, and turns towards Spinister. "Can just shower my 'city' with fake flags? Can I? Huh? I'll make them different colors, even!"
Then he gestures at the monitor that's following Frenzy. "Now, I knew Sky-Byte didn't like Scourge, so I wasn't surprised when he wasted part of his prep time spying on his own teammate, but what's the blade-bug's malfunction? Please tell me it's not over Scourge's attempt to grab at him earlier. Way he was acting, I'd have made a grab, too! I mean, I know we're not always the most trustworthy bunch, but if he's going to turn on a teammate over that..." Needlenose trails off, feeling his meaning is made clear.

"Frenzy is rather...unique. He is used to his partner tolerating- at the very least- his spastic behavior. I also imagine he is quite put out at not only being on a separate team Barricade, but a separate group," Shockwave says, more to himself than to room, "An interesting pair, they are."
"At any rate, Scourge seems not to trust either Frenzy or Sky-Byte. Perhaps he intends to win this game all on his own." Shockwave shakes his head, "Arrogant. Powerful, yes, but arrogant."
"And decoys are all well and good, but they lack the numbers to make a convincing ruse of more than one. Besides, if the flag is the- how did you put it Spinister?- 'Weapon of the Week,' creating multiple decoys would not necessarily be possible."

Post by Demolishor on Jan 10, 2008 13:11:14 GMT -5
It is at this point Demolishor comes stomping in. He'd managed to curl up in some place so out of the way that no one could notice that he wasn't working, slept for what felt like a month as some cosmic entity went off to another continent, and completely missed both prep and the beginning of the game. Stupid jets and cars. No sense of patience.
He'd been all ready to storm out and give everyone concerned a piece of his mind and his turrets with the fury that only a tankmech can provide, and then that...thing had shown up in the sky and nearly caused him to have a bout of autolubrication. It looked like that Unicron thing everyone had been talking about, and holo or not it had still scared him bad enough that he'd had to transform and hunker down for a few minutes before he got the courage to keep on walking without looking like a small, scared little child.
That had taken the edge of his anger pretty quickly. Still, it felt better to focus on petty betrayals of trust rather than giant things with maws the size of Cyber City and he is still going to feed one of his so-called teammates to the other once he got his hands on them.
Still fuming, the newly-arrived tank leans against the nearest available wall (at a rather odd slant to accommodate the seat thingie sticking out of his lower back) and starts watching the monitors. Better than nothing, he supposes, but so's a dull spear in the optic.

Spinister's attention is drawn to the twitching of the Predacon. It's a predator/prey thing. Prey moves.
To Needlenose, he answers, "It's your sim to run. Do what you feel necessary to test your subjects."
Frenzy's over-reaction is duly noted. Spinister's going to continue to split up Frenzy and Barricade at every chance. They can hate him if they want. He knows what they are.
Demolishor is the one who didn't hold up his end of the bargain: being here on time. Let him sulk.

Needlenose watches his screens with interest as the time is up, and Starscream flies right past Thundercracker and directly towards Skystrike and Wreckage. Needlenose narrows his optics, then widens them and chuckles. Found them rather quickly, didn't he?
"I... think I'm going to hold off for now," he tells the others. Then he nods up to Shockwave. "Yeah. They didn't seem to take that into account." He shrugs. "Not that it matters. If they're smart, they'll figure out how to sort them out soon enough."
He pays no attention to Demolishor's surly entrance, but then, he was on one of Spinister's teams, not Needlenose's.

Now that the game has begun in earnest, Shockwave has been paying very close attention to the monitors. Not close enough to miss Demolisher's entrance, or his attitude, however. At this rate, Demolisher can forget about getting a shiny new sword for Christmas; he's been a very bad little Decepticon.
Without looking at the tank, he comments, to no one in particular, "Blackarachnia makes a good addition to Fleetwind's team. Choosing such a high placement might hurt considering the number of fliers, but her organic form gives her an advantage most fliers wouldn't consider. Those webs of hers can be quite the annoyance. If they can take out Hellbender, they should be able to outmaneuver and out-think Cannonball's team. Something they might not have been able to do otherwise."
Shockwave watched for several more minutes, then makes a small tsk sound, "Starscream erred in trusting the flag to Dead End. It was only logical that Scourge would go after Dead End, and though the Stunticon is a good fighter, he is simply not in Scourge's class. And Thundercracker seems to have already turned on his teammates. How very predictable."
He leans in to peer at one of Spinister's monitors, "Barricade has found Hellbender' primary battery compartment." His optic flickers. The Saleen certainly seems to be enjoying his work. Shockwave really must have a talk with Barricade and his partner once the games are done.

Needlenose pays more attention to his teams than Spinister's. He nods once. "Thundercracker's been performing... sub-optimally since he got here, to judge by the number of repairs he's been needing. Maybe he's trying to get in on Starscream's good side after that?" He shrugs. "Or maybe he's just choosing the familiar over the unfamiliar. Don't know."
The Targetmaster then taps a monitor that's been largely still for awhile now. "Of course, I didn't really realize that Scourge could be two places at once when I was writing up the roster. Might have done it differently otherwise."
