"Yes, I suppose it will have to be. If luck is with him, perhaps he'll even have a fresh start."
Mirage is quiet for several moments, not really sure what to say to Punch. He can't quite imagine what things must be like for the other spy. He does think of something, though. Something that Punch might find an invaluable piece of information. However...
"If I have information which might possible be of the life-saving variety, but might also be risky for you to have, would you prefer to be told, or no?"

Punch pauses. He looks down the road, his lips pursed in a thoughtful expression as he considers Mirage's question carefully, looking at it from all angles.
Finally, he says, "I suppose that depends on how much danger the 'Bots will be in if the intel falls into the hands of the likes of Shockwave or Starscream. It's not so much for my own protection that I avoid knowing what's going on with you, but the less I know, the less I can tell them if I'm caught."

Mirage considers Punch's answer, and then nods. Fair enough.
"This is not something which will affect us in anyway, but it may well save your aft at some point. Something I found out during my partnership with the other Spinister."
He cuts his optics back toward Punch. "That Spinister had an extremely good cloaking system. Better than mine, and I think it lacked my own system's handicaps. I think it best to assume that your Spinster is similarly equipped."

Punch's optic-band widens with Mirage's news.
"He what?!" the Autobot exclaims, then he narrows that band and looks around, making sure that there's still no one else to overhear.
"That is... ah... that is very significant news." He frowns and shakes his head. "It does explain a few things, actually." Then he sighs. "I'll keep alert. There's... not really much I can do about the matter, though, beyond that." Another pause, then, softer, "Damn, that's bad."

"Invisibility is a difficult thing to plan or fight against, yes," Mirage answers, quite dryly. "I admit, I envy that system of Spinister's most keenly. I'm not sure of it's limitations, but I'd trade up in a nanosecond."
"Actually," Mirage continues, "If you've no experience with that sort of opponent and have the time, I've no objections to being a practice partner. I'll not tell you all the tricks, of course, for my own safety." Signature smirk. "But enough to maybe help you if it comes to that."

"I don't have no experience, but, well, it's minimal," Punch admits grudgingly. He looks up and studies Mirage silently as he chews on the bottom of his lip and considers.
Finally, he nods and pushes himself away from the tree he'd been leaning against. "More training is always a good idea, and it's not like I get to make the regular sessions," he states.

"True," Mirage agrees, "Though I imagine you still get some training in from time to time." Gracefully, he unfolds and rises, turning to face Punch. Instead of taking a fighting stance, though, he leans one shoulder against the tree trunk. "If you're agreeable, I'll use your frequency for communication while cloaked. After all, what's the point of practicing against an invisible opponent, if I give away my position with my voice. And I need to be able to give you pointers in some manner." Mirage totally doesn't mean to sound as arrogant as he does. Poof OOC: Yes, that means Mirage is cloaked.

While Punch doesn't have sensors enhanced over any other Transformer's (the room that might have gone with that is instead used on the specialized systems that give him two robot modes), he knows how to use what he's got more effectively than most. He is, in other words, extremely observant, and the moment Mirage vanishes, his gaze drifts to the ground, the spot Mirage had been standing on. His gaze scans out from there.
"Sure, sure," he replies to Mirage's question about frequency. "Just keep it very low power."

Mirage does not move immediately upon cloaking. Instead, he remains quite still, watching Punch. Mirage smiles a bit as the other so carefully scans the ground. Not a bad start. At least he's actually looking properly.
The grass and dirt underfoot is a hindrance. Mirage is good, very, very good, and even in such a setting he will leave little trace. But there is much more to betray him here than he is used to dealing with, more factors to consider. Then, there is Mirage's own condition to consider. He's built for stealth, but he's not in top form after all the cross-country running he's been doing. The barest out of place creak and Punch will be able to tag him.
Tensing, Mirage leaps to one side, landing several feet away with a soft, barely audible thump. He's fishing for a reaction. He wants to see a bit of how this one works.

Punch turns - spins - towards the soft thump. eyes on the ground, but he misjudges where it is, and looks a little too far. He scans back, still watching the ground, but now crouches, getting more defensive. It's obvious that he's lost Mirage, but just as obvious that he's got the general area right, at least.
While watching, he moves around the tree he had been leaning against earlier, keeping his back to it, and, in fact, moves closer towards it, reducing the number of directions that Mirage can come at him from, but not attacking himself.

Mirage begins to carefully, but not that slowly make his way toward Punch, intending to circle opposite of Punch's own direction around his tree. If he's timed it right, he should meet Punch in the middle, more or less.
At which point, Mirage will attempt to grab Punch's arm and flip the other spy to the ground. If successful, Mirage won't attempt a pin, but will instead try and spring back and away from the (likely annoyed) blue car.

Punch is flipped to the ground! And he is annoyed, though he's far short of the seething anger Counterpunch would be experiencing. He doesn't move for the moment as Mirage springs back, staying as still as possible, listening for where Mirage landed... then he springs up very suddenly, grabbing a handful of dirt and throwing it in a wide pattern in the general direction he heard Mirage in.

The dirt briefly outlines the outer edge of Mirage's box o' electro-disruption. Not bad, Punch, not bad.
Mirage doesn't immediately move though, instead waiting just long enough to see what Punch will do.

Just before Punch charges towards Mirage, he hesitates, as though his focus were suddenly grabbed by something else. The moment passes swiftly, and after he's springing towards Mirage, intent to try to grapple the invisible spy. His moment of hesitation may well has cost him, however...
"Never stated if energy weapons were allowed," he notes, indicating he would be resorting to such a thing, were he sure.

Hopefully, Punch will forgive Mirage. The spy is, honestly, playing a bit, deliberately baiting. He's done so little sparring since arriving, and he really does enjoy it. Besides...one day he may have to fight Punch (in whatever his alter ego may be), and knowing at least a bit about how the other spy fights will help.
Mirage takes advantage of that brief hesitation to gracefully pivot to one side as Punch charges, and simultaneously kicking out one leg to try and trip and, if that is successful, bringing his elbow down hard, aiming at the back of Punch's neck.
//You are correct.// Mirage almost-purrs on Punch's frequency, over very low power as requested, //No terms of engagement were set. But if you progress past mere hand to hand, than I will be free to do the same.//
