Set early in day 7.
Starscream makes his way to the energon storage shed, in need of a refuel. It's not standard procedure but it's one of the perks of being leader--if you do it then it's not against the rules.
However, apparently someone else thinks they're entitled to the same privilege! Which is funny, because people who might have this entitlement might also have access to the shed without blasting the lock off, as can be found here!
As soon as he notices the missing lock, Starscream scowls and shoves the door open, curious as to how much energon has gone missing.

Eye-Fire has spent the better part of the last day camped out in a small, uncomfortorble space watching the energon shed, having noticed the damage done to it on one of his patrols. Having found a small and concealed area to hide in which had view of the shed, Eye-Fire had been hoping to catch the thief, with no luck so far.
Floating out of his hidey hole in gun mode, Eye-Fire transforms and hits the ground loud enough to alert Starscream of his presence without hopefully startling him.
"I assume you don't know who did this then, my lord?" Eye-Fire offers as he moves forward towards the shed.

Aimless has been wandering about, well, aimlessly, and his current path has brought him near enough to the rations store for him to catch both Starscream's expression and Eye-Fire's subsequent appearance from nowhere.
This is bad, very bad, and Aimless wants nothing to do with it.
He attempts to beat feet before he's noticed, at the same time letting his partner know what's up.
//Yo, Misfire, someone broke into the rations shed. Starscream is pissed, and that spooky sniper is aro-Gah!//
Did Aimless just trip and near break his neck, or did someone snatch him up? Stay tuned and find out!

"You have assumed correctly. I really have to wonder who would be stupid enough to think they could get away with this." Starscream mutters as he mentally constructs a list of people who would be stupid enough. As he hears some kind of noise--something that might be an organic in a metal suit calling out in fright as he trips over, but Starscream cannot place his finger on it--Starscream turns suddenly in the direction of the sound.
As unlikely as it might be that this is the person who broke into storage, Starscream isn't just banking on that assumption. He swiftly moves towards wherever Aimless is doing whatever he's doing.

Eye-Fire skipped due to time-out. He may rejoin rotation at his leisure.
Aimless is currently sprawled face first on the ground after tripping over a hunk of metal (which may or may not be a piece of the door lock). he's not hurt mind you; he's just fervently hoping that if he is quiet and doesn't move no one can see him.
Alas, this is not to be the case.
As he hears footsteps heading his way, the Nebulan pushes up to a sitting position and twists around so that he can face Starscream. Hopefully, Misfire will arrive soon and get Aimless out of this mess.
"Er, hello, Lord Starscream. I was just-" running for his life "-looking for Misfire. He's not here, so I suppose I can just be going...."

Starscream peers at the Nebulan. "Stay." is all he says. "Why were you expecting him here, anyway?"
"And while we're at it. You're meant to be a Targetmaster. Where's the other little organic for Misfire?" Starscream has hung out with Needlenose and Spinister too long.

"Ex-expecting him? No, no, Lord Starscream. I was just wandering about and he's in roughly this direction, and well, I was trying to not interrupt you, and...," Aimless babbles as he picks himself up off the ground. "You seemed...busy, so I was just going to pass quietly, but I tripped and..I am babbling," he finishes, looking both worried and sheepish, "My-my apologies, sir."
But when Starscream asks about where Misfire's "other organic" is, Aimless can't quite keep the confusion off his face.
"Lord Starscream, um, I am Misfire's only Master partner. He is a Targetmaster; singles are much more common than Double Targetmasters, like the May- like Spinster and Needlenose."

"Hnn." Starscream grunts. "Well, perhaps you'll be of some use. Come with me." He points to the energon shed.
"I need to investigate who has broken into the shed. There may be some need for small optics.. or whatever it is you organics have. So I have use of you."

"But...but...," Aimless starts, then thinks better of arguing with the Decepticon Commander-in-Chief. "Yes, Lord Starscream. He rather reluctantly heads into the shed.
Aimless just sort of stands there, rocking back and forth on his heels and looking about. Initiative is low; perhaps he botched his roll.
"Er, what would you like me to do, sir? And, um, Misfire should be here really soon, too, if you need help, sir."

"Look. Look for clues." Starscream pauses near the entryway. "and I'll question Misfire on what he knows when he gets here." He better not be late.
He frowns as he surveys the ground around. Just what he was afraid of--far too much activity around here. And Starscream, unaware that there was a need to preserve this as he arrived, contaminated it further. However, the prints there are all about the same size and depth--he can rule out the larger and bulkier of his number, like Hellbender and Scourge.
Starscream raises himself above the ground and hovers over towards the entrance. "If you must arrive, do your best to avoid spoiling the footprints that are already here."

Aimless looks over his shoulder at Starscream, "Um, yessir. Misfire doesn't have those yet; though he's got a request in. He won't be able to play hover-detective." Aimless then turns his attention back to the shed.
A few more minutes perusal (well, actually, he figured it out almost as soon as he walked in, but hey. Gotta keep up the slacker image.) Aimless decides that he'd be better off looking for clues outside than in. He ambles back out, peeks up at the door and mumbles, mostly to himself.
"Blown off. And a messy job. Could have been handled better...doesn't anyone here know how to finesse a demolition? Pfagh..." He dissolves into muttered grumbling about building codes and site teardowns as he pokes about.
Under a bit of brush, he finds what he was looking for, "Here's what's left of your lock, Lord Starscream. Though there might be more pieces scattered about....oh, look! Here's Misfire!"
Evident relief if very evident.
The gaudy jet transforms and tumbles, landing lightly on his feet a short distance away from the shed. He half-bows at Starscream, "Aimless says you need assistance, Commander?".

Starscream thrusts a hand out over the entryway. "Misfire, do not just trudge over here, make your way around carefully."
"Aimless, pass the parts to your--" Boss? Master Owner? "--to Misfire."

Aimless practically runs over to Misfire and hands up the bit of busted lock. Misfire takes it as he answers Starscream, "Of course, my lord." Really, Misfire does know better, but he isn't going to press that point with Starscream of all people.
Carefully, he makes his way over to the shed, gracefully moving between prints- and leaving very little of his own. He may not have his anti-gravs yet, but he is still a nimble mech. He knows how to walk without disturbing things. Aimless follows along behind, very, very glad to have his partner to hide behind now.
"The lock was blasted off in a rather messy manner, my lord. It seems whoever did this either didn't care that that they might be found out, or thought they were above reproach."

"Or," adds Starscream, "They were stupid. Do we have some idea about what height the blaster fire came from, in relation to where the lock was?" If it helps narrow down the suspects, he's fine with that.
"For all of this trouble, only a few cubes were taken." Starscream privately decides that such a big risk for minimal gain is solid proof for the 'they thief was stupid' case.

Misfire blinks slowly in astonishment as Starscream asks him for a critical scene assessment. Misfire is more used to being ignored or considered stupid, as many translate his lack of aim into general ineptitude. The moment passes quickly, though, and he nods, all business once more.
"You are right, of course my lord. The lock was placed here?" He points at the door. "I'm not an analyst, sir, though I think they shoved me through that program once or twice. Tried to find something I could do...." but he still couldn't pas any of the shooting requirements. Oh, man, did the Mayhems tell Starscream how many times Misfire flunked out?
"Er," he scratches the back of his head, "Maybe someone shorter than us? One of the cars, maybe?"
