He has turned Grimlock into a cannibal? No. No this is not the result which Perceptor had been aiming for.
"Errr... well, the metals need not be Cybertronian in origin," he replies a little weakly. "Any metals should suffice."

Grimlock was chewing on Cybertronians long before this!
"Ohhh, okay. Maybe me just go find Starscream and munch his wings off."

"I... cannot say that I can not support such an activity," Perceptor replies. Inflicting pain on the one responsible for stealing Ratchet from them?
Never let it be said that Perceptor does not have at least a small vindictive streak in him. Ahem.

"Me Grimlock take their wings, then they not able to fly away from me Grimlock!" he announces, punching a fist into an open hand, proud of his little strategy.
How he's going to catch a Seeker long enough gnaw their wings off, he hasn't covered yet.
Maybe he'll throw Slag at them.

Perceptor is going to need a bigger umbrella.
"Sideswipe and Sunstreaker had not been sharing combat techniques with you before you arrived here, had they?" Perceptor asks warily. Dinobots and Jet Judo?
Madness. Utter, terrifying madness.

"No. Them know better than to try and teach Dinobots how to fight. Me Grimlock no need their help."
If a Dinobot tried Jet Judo, it'd probably turn into Jet Sumo, given the Dinobots' weight...

Jet Sumo has a certain amount of appeal, actually, as that implies a significant lack of falling.
"No, no," Perceptor hastily replies as he starts fitting in the new components to the existing armor pieces he has removed. "Of course you do not require their assistance. Although, broadening one's scope of abilities is always admirable. I, for one, do plan on taking advantage of the opportunity to learn whatever new scientific and combative techniques any of our new Autobot associates have to offer."

Grimlock rumbles a bit, glancing askance. "Me Grimlock learn if me think it useful."
Mirage will find this out soon enough, yessssss.

Poor Mirage. Perceptor is going to be most put out ifwhen he has to piece the spy back together again.
"That is an excellent philosophy, Grimlock," Perceptor remarks just a little absently as he works on integrating new systems. "Now, we must address broadening your impressions upon what you consider useful."

The Dinobot snorts. "Me Grimlock no need people telling me what me should find useful! Me Grimlock perfectly capable of deciding for myself," he says, and would scowl if he had a face.
Stubborn Dinobot is stubborn.

"Hn. Of course," Perceptor replies wryly. Yes, you can lead a dinobot to water, but you cannot make him keep off the grass. Botanica has tried, and see how well that worked?
"And perhaps," Perceptor adds, turning to spear Grimlock with a stern look, shaking his wrench at the dinobot commander for emphaisis - and no, Perceptor is not afraid to use it for effect on dinobots, either, "if you had a few more tactics beyond 'stomp, burn, chomp', then I would not need to develop new and interesting means by which to keep you in fewer than a dozen components, hmmm?"

Grimlock recoils slightly from the look Perceptor gives him, but hackles up after the scientist makes his point. "Hmmph! It not me Grimlock's fault that Decepticons here in stupid dimension not know how to take proper beating!"
At this point, the Dinobot Commander crosses his arms in a defensive gesture. Careful, Perceptor. Grimlock may like you better than the average 'bot, but it's still Grimlock you're poking.

Perceptor snorts with a bit of a fond grin as he return to his work. "Stubborn. You get it from your creators," he observes with a sigh. "But, I imagine that you would need to be to keep mechs like Slag in line. I cannot see anyone else being able to do so skilled a job at it."
Flies and honey and all that. Perceptor isn't above the application of a little... sweets.

Grimlock looks a bit puzzled now. "What you mean? Me Grimlock keep Slag in line just fine. And him not going to learn anything new - him more stubborn than me Grimlock."

Mrf. Perceptor used too large of words again, apparently. Time to translate.
"That is my point, Grimlock," he explains patiently. "You do keep Slag in line. I do not think that anyone else could, at least not as well as you do."
Perhaps Kup, by simple expedient of refusing to tell them stories except as a reward for good behavior... but perhaps not.
"And I firmly believe that you may all learn things," Perceptor adds absently as he carefully wires in new interface modules to the armor pieces he is working on. "Stubborn you may be, but you are not stupid."
Unintelligent, yes. Foolhearty? Often. Dumb? Far too noisy a lot for that to ever apply. Truly stupid? Not nearly as much as everyone assumes, and Perceptor is not afraid to "thump a few cranials" himself to stand up for that fact.
He is, perhaps, just a little biased for his friends' creations. Oh well.
