"It is a little bit of both, actually." The lilting, accented voice comes from off to the right of the trio, emanating from what appears to be one of those brightly-colored plants. Botanica detaches herself from the surrounding plant life and moves gracefully over to the path. The plants seem to almost part around her like a wave.
"We are located in the midst of an area teeming with tropical and sub-tropical specimens, and so many of the species you will find here are jungle life. However, further in, you will find an area more similar to the low plains, where I am cultivating some some grasses and more hardy specimens of shrubs and wildflowers."
Botanica tilts her head, examining the Constructicon. She's seen him about, but has had little to no interaction with him thus far. "Boondocker already knows to keep to the path as much as one is able, so as not to disturb my work. I would appreciate the same courtesy from you, Scrapper."
She hold out her hand, and if Spy Shot wishes, he can hop over to her. "Thank you again, Spy Shot, for your assistance with my archives. Which reminds me...," her secondary hand comes up and she rests a finger on her cheek, "The Diamonde Aredente Calix should be blooming any moment now. You've missed the last few cycles."
She looks from Scrapper to Boondocker, and back, "That is, if your companions would not object to a short interruption in their tour?"

Blooming plant! Spy Shot quickly makes the jump over to Botanica's hand. "I want to watch!"
There's nothing quite like seeing a flower bud blossom open, spreading out colourful petals, especially this particular plant. Living things are so interesting. Most of the flowers that ended up in Sector Seven were clipped and dying, and while the slow death and wilting was still a change worth watching at least once, it wasn't as dramatic and fascinating as a blooming plant.
The camera-bot does not have Botanica's manners and sees nothing wrong with running off without warning if something interesting beckons. This time he does give his companions the benefit of turning to look at them and saying, "Come and see, it is very pretty."
Very, very pretty. Pretty enough that he's still excited to watch it again even though he's seen this particular plant bloom before.

Boondocker watches their small companion take off with a bit of a grin. "Daggum, that feller's more excited'n than George Jones performin' in a bar durin' happy hour, I tell ya what!"
Then he turns to Botanica. "Reckon it won't hurt. We's just passin' through t' git this here feller innerduced t' Mayday so he kin help out with that spaceshipamajigger he's a-buildin'."

Wow. Sub-tropi-what? Scrapper figures that she basically means that they got some big plants in this area and some small plants in another. But half of the things in the forest didn't fascinate him as much as Botanica. He mostly kept his eyes focused on her as she was speaking, not really paying attention until she finished.
"Huh?" Scrapper asks. "Oh, right. Da path."
Scrapper steps to the side, closer to the path, making sure he isn't crushing any plant life, his optics still focused on her. He'd never seen a plant transformer before, or a female one. How come nobody back home told him they made fembots!? Now, if he found one his size, he'd have to make a few catcalls.
He doesn't mind that Spy Shot's running off to look at the flower. That camera's an excitable little fella, anyways. As Boondocker mentions Mayday, Scrapper figures that it's time to move on with this little tour...But, not without a question.
"So, Botanica," Scrapper starts. "How do ya transform anyway?"

Well, now, Botanica is not so far off Scrapper's size as one might expect, since she is one of the few Beast-era mechs affected by the odd size increase triggered upon arrival to Gillanan III. She stands rough fifteen feet high, when not augmented by her vines, about as tall as Jazz.
It would not, however, be recommended for Scrapper to attempt any catcalls. She might have to remind the Constructicon that her alt mode is a carnivorous plant.
"Mayday? Ah yes, he's working on the opposite end of the garden, on the biosphere outer hull, if I recall. The main path will take you there, with the least amount of winding." She points a short way down, to where the path splits in several directions. It is easy to pick out the most worn-and largest- path. "And the Calix is more or less on the way, so if you would also like to see it you may."
She starts that way herself, only to be stopped by Scrapper's question. She looks back over her shoulder at him and Boondocker. She sighs a bit tiredly, but her smile is still in place.
"It is easier to show than to explain, as my transform is not like the others here," she says.
Botanica gently places Spy Shot on a low hanging limb, turns back around, and initiates her transform sequence. It is less like a transform and more like her body simply reforms itself at a molecular level, a fluid sliding of parts. It all finishes with a soft burst of white light, and she's hovering before them in her robot mode, body almost translucent, possessed of an iridescent glow. Look closely, and one can see the tiny tracks of circuitry in the her skirt and helm. Her whirling spark can be seen within her chest.
"Now that's done with..." she reaches over and scoops up Spy Shot once more, "Any other questions?"
Handling Spy Shot done with permission.

Spy Shot waits patiently as Botanica speaks with his touring companions, but has little interest in Mayday and the ship beyond stopping by on occasion to see how it is changed. It doesn't help that the engineer has a tendency to flail and shoo him off if he tries to get a closer look at any of the really interesting parts. The forest is more interesting than the spaceship anyway. Much less like Sector Seven.
He waits quietly as Botanica sets him aside for a moment, not the least bit bothered by being manhandled about any which way, and enjoys watching her transformation. It's very different from the other transformations he has seen, and from his own. It is quite pretty, too, really. He wonders if that's a side-effect of her being a plant. After all, flowers are pretty and flowers are plants... therefore Botanica is pretty? Hm.
He breaks the silence after he's picked up once more and Botanica makes a call for questions. What do you mean she was probably directing that to Scrapper? Questions are questions! "Can we go see the Calix now? Are any other flowers going to bloom today? Do you have any new plants?"
Yes, Spy Shot is getting a handle on this business of asking questions.

Yes, Botanica is pretty. However, Boondocker is not enamored with her or her transformation. Not that he doesn't like it or her, he just has different focuses.
And here's hoping someone understanding is around, should Scrapper meet up with any of the ladies around base soon, to avoid conflict.
"Only question I got is if y'all need any help 'round hyar, Miz Botanica" Boony asks, ever the helpful handyman. He starts in the shuttle direction now, though still looking back. "If'n y' do, I kin come back once I show these fellers t' the right place."

It's probably not the right time to mention that Scrapper likes it when they're feisty.
"Uh, tanks," Scrapper nods, referring to her direction giving. Any more questions? None that Scrapper can think of. Best to leave the question askin' to the little camera bot.
"I got nothin'," Scrapper answers. "Guess I'll just be movin' along now."

Botanica quirks a brow. Short attention span, this one has, it seems. Ah, well, she has other things to do. But, they are heading in her same direction, so Scrapper is not quite rid of her yet.
"I have a few new specimens, Spy Shot, but nothing that is out of the seedling stage. I'm not encouraging them too much, as I am unsure as to their fit within the soil we will be taking along. I prefer them to grow and open a bit more naturally in those first testing stages."
"I've nothing pressing, though if you've time later, perhaps you might assist with some soil transportation, Boondocker. And yes," she chuckles, patting Spy Shot very carefully on the head, "We can go and see the Calix now."
With that she heads down the path which she pointed out to Scrapper and Boondocker. She's hovering along at a decent pace, but not so fast that she will not hear questions and comments that are directed at her.
OOC: as mentioned Botanica and Spy Shot are not leaving the thread, just moving down the path.

"Good," Spy shot says, patting Botanica's palm in response to the pat on his head. "I like the Calix." He has to say it, because that fact totally isn't obvious already.
Sitting down, the camera-bot makes himself comfortable and proceeds to scrutinize the garden as they go, systematically comparing plants to his last memory of them and noting any changes.

Boondocker gives Botanica a nod, heading off in the direction with more focus now that his question has been answered.
Time to look forward to some dirt-movin'! Sure beats patrol.

"So, uh," Scrapper starts, as he walks down the short path.. "Who is dis Mayday guy anyway? A mechanic or somethin'?"
You gotta know who you're working with...And what you're building.
"And Long Haul said somethin' about him buildin' a ship?" Scrapper adds.

Botanica debates answering Scrapper's question, but it was not addressed to her. She does, however, speak over her shoulder to Boondocker.
"If you haven't yet you should let Mayday know you are coming and bringing our new Constructibot. -Con. Whichever. Easily spooked as he is, I would hate him to greet you- less than warmly."
And Botancia isn't radioing Mayday because every time she contacts him in such a manner, he starts and goes on about Skivien Radio Motes that could ride her "organic" signal and infest his CPU. He'd rather speak to her in person.
Admittedly, that "in person" is from at least fifteen feet away.
"Oh, Spy Shot," she hold the tiny camera up so that she can better address him, "Did I tell you I am building you in your own entrance into the biosphere? That way, you needn't worry that the failsafes in place for us large ones will harm you."

Spy Shot keeps idle track of the conversation going on around him, noting any questions asked, whether or not they are answered, and if he has any information to offer in response to them. When Scrapper's questions aren't specifically answered by Botanica, he feels the need to add his own knowledge: "Mayday is an Autobot. He is just one little bot that designs, builds, and flies spaceships. That's it. He's not a miracle worker." Is Spy Shot paraphrasing something he heard someone ranting to himself? Why yes! Yes he is! "I do not know if he is a mechanic. He is building a ship. It is a spaceship."
Thank you, Spy Shot, you are truly the most helpful and informative of Transformers. Really.
He glances up at Botanica as she addresses him, but quickly turns back to back to his comparisons. He can look and listen at the same time, they're completely different strains of sensory input!
"You did not tell me," he admits. But that's okay, because she is telling him now. "I am glad that you are doing that. I wouldn't like being harmed."

"Mayday's th' feller whut's buildin' the rocketship that'll take us offa this here planet. Lil' feller, kinna timid."
And then Botanica makes a good point. Boondocker blinks, then takes a sheepish look. "D'oh, that there might be a good idear, lemme git right on that..." he says, mentally spacing out while he goes on his radio to warn/alert/poke Mayday.
