Rodimus crosses his arms. "Probably in the crisis where we'd spend long periods of time hiding in the Cybertronian tunnels, Perceptor. I'm talking about back home."
Hot Rod was part of the resistance, too, even if he wasn't part of Emirate Xaaron's specific cell. He remembers what it was like (well, when his commanding officer wasn't making plans to go AWOL, anyway).
Then he drops his arms and looks back at Emirate Xaaron, shaking his head. "Not very likely. We had already lost contact with you by the time Unicron showed. But if you weren't dead by then, possibly. Thanks to time rewriting myself, my personal experiences don't match up with the rest of reality from 2006 through 2009."

Emirate Xaaron actually looks more perturbed, not less when Rodimus Prime explains it is was unlikely that he died by Galvatron's hand, but all he says is a thin, "I see. Thank you."
His hands shake - not with fear, but with anger at his alternate self. How dare he, just vanish on the Autobots like that? They deserve everything he has. He can't afford the luxury of vanishing!
Emirate Xaaron moves to rest one hand lightly on top of Perceptor's, if the scientist will let him, until the anger abates, and then he attempts to lever himself up into a standing position.

"Ah." Perceptor has no other comment for that, because Xaaron has already answered the question as far as he is concerned: there were others who saw to Xaaron's safety.
He does not prevent Xaaron from resting his hand there, instead, tilting a concerned gaze toward the Emirate when he detects that tremor of the other mehc's hand. He misinterprets it as fear, though, and gives Xaaron's leg a comforting squeeze as the golden mech finally begins to climb back to his feet, Perceptor following swiftly after.

"I'm... sorry to be the bearer of that sort of news," Rodimus Prime offers a bit lamely. He rubs the back of his head a moment, awkward, and finally says, "Well, if nobody's in any trouble or anything, I guess I'd better go and, well, let you two get back to... well, back to what you were doing, really."
Rodimus doesn't want to think about what they were doing, just in case they just fed him a very cleverly constructed cover story.

Emirate Xaaron offers Perceptor a hand up, if the scientist needs it in standing.
He scowls and grumbles, "I swear, if I ever meet that other-me, I shall ream him out. Vanishing on his troops like that and possibly dying? That's dreadfully irresponsible of me and sloppy, besides!"
He waves his other hand and agrees, "Ah, yes. I won't keep you from more productive tasks."

Yes, Rodimus. It's all a cover story, cleverly constructed to give them the freedom to pull each other's tiggers. No, really. Well, more like give them the freedom so that Perceptor can teach Xaaron how to squeeze Perceptor's trigger, since Xaaron won't be keeping the weapon, thus making it still Perceptor's.
How convoluted is that?
"Thank you for your concern, Rodimus," he says, gratefully accepting the hand up, snorting with amusement as he glances down at all the black paint smeared all over himself now.
"I should definitely adjust the physical reaction limiters to avert another potential accidental discharge incident," he muses, grinning at Xaaron ruefully.
From the paintball gun, Rodimus!

"Erm, right," Rodimus says as quickly as possible, as he books it out of there.
Run away! Run away!
OOC: Out of thread.

Emirate Xaaron would be offended, if he knew what Rodimus Prime was thinking.
Emirate Xaaron would come up with a much, much better cover story if he wanted to carry on a secret affair with Perceptor.
Though really, if he was going to have an affair with anyone, he'd want to make it as public as possible. The media gets so very disappointed when the love lives of politicians are exactly what they seem. No sport, no chase, no excitement!
Emirate Xaaron agrees with Perceptor, "Premature ammunition discharge is a problem that I'm going to have to work on to reduce and eventually eliminate." A pause. "For Rodimus Prime's sanity, if nothing else."

Perceptor is totally a romantic at heart. He wants the chase and the sport and the excitement! Their affair is doomed to failure ere it even starts! Woe. WOE I tell you!
And of course his contrabution was not a few seasons of daytime dramas and bodice ripper novels downloaded upon Earth. Not at all.
"Well, to be honest, that is a problem all must conquer at some point or another as they begin to experiment," Perceptor replies with a shrug. "Although, Rodimus did seem overly... disturbed by it in this instance."
Another shrug. Perceptor doesn't get it. h well.
"Shall we return to your education?" he asks, nodding back down toward the target as he offers Xaaron his weapon back.
The pistol, dammit!

Emirate Xaaron wants to disappoint the paparazzi. Politicians who court exactly who they they're courting and no one on the side are boring, which means that they get left alone and can spend some quality alone-time with the one they're courting. Unlike the politicians with secret Seeker bondage concubines.
He takes the weapon back gently, rubbing it to try to clean off some of the stickiness.
Emirate Xaaron smiles up at Perceptor and replies, "Let us. I am finding your lessons most informative."
OOC: Fade out to boring shootery?

Ah, well, then that would work just fine. Perceptor would look rather foolish tarted up like a Seeker, anyway.
"Excellent!" Perceptor replies, smiling. "And once you have begun to master this, then we may move on to larger, more complicated implements. With dilligence, you will be handling your own weapon with confidence and skill." He kneels and settles himself around Xaaron once again and gets back to the task of teaching the Emirate where and how his limbs should go for maximum comfort and steadiness.
ooc: go for fade out!
