"Nothing a good cube won't fix," the Mini-con replies, transforming and landing to disengage his hook. "Wasn't expecting that to work."
His light shines over to Skid-Z. Before he can ask about the racer's well-being, he spots the can that splashed him. "Uh, remember what you said about not wearing pink?"

Skid-Z visibly freezes as Makeshift mentions his earlier words. He tilts his head curiously. "What with it?"

"Well, I hope you prefer looking like an evil black repaint," Makeshift replies, picking up the cans that splashed all over the racer. One is dark enough to look black in the low lighting, the other a sort of metallic teal. Beware the awesome might of Nemesis Skid-Z.
"So what do we do about our playmate there?" He indicates the unconscious raptor with a nod of his head.

Looking himself over, Skid-Z blinks, and seems to be waiting for something. "This....." a pinch of approval rips through his systems, "is not considered a problem" He eventually concludes. Meaning that for now, he will feel less pressured to fix his appearance, and able to properly concentrate on his work. Which is good.
Picking up the ropes Makeshift had dropped in the scramble, Skid-Z binds the creature in case it wakes up and considers options. Personally he feels more for setting it free once they are finished, why would command have need of it? He still decides to make a quick notice to radio, in case he's mistaken. "Let's stock up, mark the location, and try to get most of the mixable base colors back with us. You want to try and dismantle the drones for resources for a hand unit? Now's a good time"
That said, the racer takes a few cans of pure white and absently mindedly mentions, "You're pretty native-sized, right?" State the obvious, does he mean to indicate something? Why, yes, he does. It regards transport.

"Eh, I'm used to these enough to wait," Makeshift says of hands. He doesn't really like having guns for fingers, but they do keep coming in handy, unfortunately. "Maybe if we have room, we should grab a drone or two for spare parts, though."
Shining his light around to look for baser colors, the Mini-con blinks at the question. "Well, I haven't exactly met any of the natives face to face, but going by most of their structures, they were about my size, maybe a little taller. Why?"

"Alright" Skid-Z nods, gathering cans in the center of the room and walking over to the next row. Slow but surely the two are gathering a good selection of stock.
"I was thinking maybe you'd feel up to it... dunno, try and see if we could find a transport carrier.... and drive it?" Considering he could operate the interface rightly, that is. Considering any such thing would start.
Considering.... if it's worth it. If not on any point, they'll carry themselves, but less.

Makeshift considers as he rolls over a few more sealed cans. "Worth a shot, if we can find something that looks operable. Hardest part'll be finding something I can fit behind the wheel of and hope I don't need too much manual dexterity to work it. If not, maybe we can find a trailer or something and rig a way to tow it." Plus, hey, a vehicle or a trailer makes for more spare parts.

Makeshift doesn't laugh at his offer, in fact, even begins to think along with it. Skid-Z is happy! And evidently gets more energetic in his collecting. "As long as we find anything, it's great!"
As the stock gets bigger and bigger, and more colors find their way in, the racer begins to make a datalog of how many of what they have been gathering. When black hits an approvable number, and the storage rack hits rock bottom, Skid-Z stretches himself.
"If they can't make a full spectrum out of these..." he starts; the basic color patterns of reds, yellows, blues and the supports of white/black along with some random colors suspected to be in high use are now centered in the room. Plain, metalique and even rare pearlescent are sampled on the cans.
Strangely enough the random colors do seem to fall in line with the largest bots, or the most vain ones.
"Makeshift, I think I want to leave the selection of a vehicle, if any, to you"

"Then I'm gonna take a quick poke around and see what I can find," Makeshift replies. "Be back in a nano."
The Mini-con transforms, flying at a fairly low speed towards the loading dock they entered from to begin his search. Several moments pass as he hovers past closed doors, searchlight sweeping back and forth. Finally, he settles on a fair-sized pickup truck-like vehicle, setting down and transforming next to it to inspect it. The sides are decorated with names in the native language, showing an emblem of a local holding a dripping brush.
//Found a possible choice,// he radios, including directions. //Gonna give it a try.//

//Alright! I'm standing by// His excitement is hard to mask, and inside the compound, Skid-Z begins to pace, waiting for when Makeshift radios the results.

After fiddling with the hand a bit, Makeshift manages to get the truck door open. Another brief struggle to get the seat pushed back as far as possible to accommodate his tail boom, and he's in, albeit somewhat cramped. He takes a moment to attempt to familiarize himself with the layout of the controls, to little avail. Then, with a shrug, he reaches for what looks like an ignition switch.
There's a sputter, a chugging sound as the engine tries to turn over, and a rapid clicking. Makeshift holds it for a few seconds, lets go, and tries again. Sputter, chug, clicking.
//You know anything about starting up an engine that's been sitting for a year or so? Sounds like the battery's still got some charge, but it won't start up.//

"//Eh.......//" It's silent for a while as Skid-Z thinks, shaking his head, "//I have no clue. Have you tried looking at .....//" He trails away, turning blank for just a click. "//Don't start it again, I'm coming over//"
He threads swiftly, and soon Makeshift should be able to see Skid-Z arrive, led around by the blown away dust and the smell of fumes. He gently opens the hood, inspects some things, then reaches behind him to pull out some cables. He fastens this to the car's engine block, and transforms. The ridge behind his cockpit is now open, with the cables coming from it. "I'm trying to slow-charge this, so you have enough extra power to start" He explains as fans begin to whirl. After a short moment, Makeshift may try again.

After a few moments, Makeshift tries the ignition. It stutters again, until the Mini-con gives the console a good whack in annoyance. Then it turns over and starts up, spewing a cloud of dust out of the rear exhaust.
"Alright, that worked," Makeshift states the obvious in true comic continuity fashion. "Now which one of these is the brake...?"
He pokes at a curious button. A loud honk blares out of the front of the vehicle. "Er, not that one......any words of wisdom for the flyboy who's never driven a ground vehicle before?"

"eh..... brakes and gas are a good place to start" Speaking from experience. Transforming back and disconnecting with the van, he gets alongside the passenger side, peering inside. "Don't you have pedals or something by your feet? Brake and gas are usually controlled by pistons and levers, not by buttons" He notices a handlebar which can be placed in various positions, but it's not like the transmission that's in his mode.
Still, it looks the part, almost like an automatic drive.... hmm. By the looks of it it might be in the right position should Makeshift hit the gas and loose the handbrake the van will roll away. "I need you to turn the steering wheel a bit to the left, should something happen you won't start running yourself into a wall.... let's see.... that handle thing between the seats? That might be the hard brake, but don't lower it yet..." Driving lessons 101, oh my.
"Just try and find the gas for now, if we hear the engine and the car begins to pull up, let go of whatever you're pressing"
