Truthfully, Rodimus honestly doesn't understand how Romulus reached the conclusion he did from the words Rodimus said, and without even that much understanding, he can't see how he didn't provide enough speech cues. So instead he continues on his path out, walking despite the temptation to roll out of respect for Botanica - as much as he'd enjoy tearing it up down here, that would be a lot more damaging to the plants. He keeps himself from glancing back this time, mostly in an attempt to hide his confused expression.

"Yes," he replies to Perceptor. "I am startled by many things. That way I am usually hidden by the time anyone dangerous approaches."
Where Perceptor was oblivious to the earlier conflict and is now noticing the tension, Spy Shot is paying absolutely no mind to anyone other than the person who's hand he's sitting in. As long as no one is shouting or sounding angry, learning about plants is infinitely more attention-grabbing than conversations about things he doesn't really understand.
Settling himself comfortably on Perceptor's palm, he must admit that the vine the scientist is pointing out does look fascinating. "That would suit," he answers, prompting Perceptor to take him to the plant.
This is looking to be a very good day.
OOC: Out unless something happens that Spy needs to respond to.

Nodding silently, Ramulus will follow Botanica as she leads on. Grasses....? His sudden increase in aircycles is mere.... coincidence, really.

"Excellent," Perceptor replies cheerfully. Finally! Someone to indulge his curiosity with who will not mind when he rambles off in a dissertation about polination and budding and life stages of vegetative life! It does not matter to him that Spy Shot is such a neophyte who would not possibly be able to keep up were Perceptor to really ramble off on a pendantic academic discourse. Sometimes, merely having a depth of sheer cuiriosity to match his own is just as, if not more, enjoyable than having a finely educated mind with which to debate.
Almost as much as Perceptor enjoys - lives for - learning and discovery, he enjoys sharing that knowledge. He enjoys teaching. Perhaps that is another reason beyond Holi's general sunny disposition that he enjoys the micromaster's company so much.
Be careful Spy Shot. You may just get adopted by the babbling, absent-minded microscope!
"Mastedus Nisterum," he explains as he wanders off with Spy Shot literally in hand. "I encountered a sample upon an exploratory expedition in my youth upon Andraneas VI, in the possession of a tramp freighter captain from the outer reaches of the galaxy. He had quite a selection of exotic species that he had collected over his lengthy years of interstellar trading, and was quite pleased to share access to his collection to schollars that he encountered upon his..." His voice fades out as they both move out of earshot on their little tour.
out of thread and happily babbling away, answering anything and everything that Spy Shot cares to ask about any subject whatsoever. Spy Shot should feel free to use this as an excuse to know things which he otherwise would not have known, if it's something Perceptor would know.

Botanica does indeed lead Ramulus to a small clearing, one obviously fairly freshly sodded, though the extent of the grass growth seems at odds with that fact. Most are sprouts she had brought in from the plains and other areas of grasslands, such as the wind-farming community to the north. She waves Ramulus on toward the neat rows of tender shoots, "Please, tell which best please your palate."
After giving the Ibex time to study- and taste, is desired- the grassy delights, Botancia very quietly asks, "Have you always had such troubles with your spark?" She had not missed that little display when Ramulus lost his temper, oh no.
Botanica sits, hoping that will make Ramulus a bit more comfortable. At least she is no longer towering over him.
OOC: just reminding that Botanica did take the upsize option and is around 15ft tall. Doesn't look like Ramulus took that option, according to the wiki.

Oh dear. Oh.... dear. Ramulus stares at the growths. For a moment there's hesitation, but what he's asked to do is impossible without his refined sensors, and there's no way to delay without rousing suspicion. "Beastmode" he commands, dedicated and firm. When the extra set of feet hit the ground, he finds himself to be calm and in control. Perfect, no troubles there.
Setting off on a slow route, grass brushing against his nose, he takes in scent. Some sprouts invite a lick, some a gentle nibble.
Botanica then asks him; "Have you always had such troubles with your spark?" Instinctively, Ramulus stills, head dipped low to the ground as he sets focus on her. What does she mean?
Presuming Botanica to be as unfamiliar with him as the next bot, wait, no, not the next bot. She recognised his spark glow. Hence the question others didn't ask. He calmly moves his head up, "That's an... interesting question; what makes you think something like that?" he replies.
It's neither denial, nor admitting. It's gauging her wonderings. He needs to know.
----------------------------- Hmm, no, he's Maximal sized....? Larger than the origin, yes, but not as large as the carformers. Height table is... strange.

Botanica quirks an eyebrow up at Ramulus's answer- cum-question, and she very pointedly tries to hold the ibex's gaze for a moment before replying.
"While it is unclear as of yet if you are truly from the same reality line as myself, having such a visible spark is not the most common of things. You will find that most here are unused to it and therefore may think nothing of such a struggle as I recently witnessed. It will simply be classified as 'yet another normal abnormality'."
She tilts her head, considering, then, says, "Hold a moment," before initiating her own transform to robot mode. The smooth, almost fluid shapeshift is a far cry from the traditional transform, and when it ends with a soft burst of white light, her whirling spark is clearly visible within her translucent chest. She touches the area lightly with one hand.
"As I said, not so common. But it would concern me less had I not seen what appeared to be a fight for control within yours." Her voice grows a bit more stern, "Now, Ramulus, I take my duties seriously, and if you fall to something later which may be within my- or any medics- power to repair I will be most cross."
She leaves it at that, waiting to see if Ramulus will be forthcoming without her having to pull the information out of him.

Good point taken, Ramulus twitches his ears while watching her shift. It's not like his, as his spark is only visible by the green flows when he heals, boosts a charge or establishes control. But without a doubt it's what drives her transformation, meaning she uses it, instead of just having it. And that's familiar. "My apologies, but I think you can understand my reason for caution, if not now, then later." He amends.
"....And a visible sparktrace is also uncommon where I come from. Maximize!" He transforms back, deciding that if he has to have this conversation, it is not without his most vantage position. Crossing his arms in front of him, he looks away, thinking for a moment. What she said made a difference... a huge one: there are medics here, he should not forget that.
And medics need to know an internal you preferably before they get said you on their tables. Still doesn't make him happy to share vulnerabilities. Ramulus is a bit shifty as he begins to relay;
"I'm not sure if all beastformers experience their shells like this, not most of whom I talked to back home; but have you ever felt.... not Cybertronian?" he questions, hurriedly explaining himself, "I mean, ever since activating in this form, I have had these extra statistics from my 'organic' side, things we bots don't need, like... being able to determine what is edible!" he points at the green, "I can eat it, it's converted to fuel however possible, but...." Hesitation kicks in, "It feels like I've been doing so all my life, which isn't so. Yet something in me feels peacefull when doing it." He concludes. "That same side, my beast mode! responds if I startle, if I'm angry, all of it, and it can get so strong that it takes over with primitive instincts." Rubbing his shoulder-neck junction, he shakes his head, "Being in bot mode doesn't stop it, so that's how I learned to use my spark to force it down. We're usually in good balance, but sometimes..."
He looks back where they came from, remembering how on his shock the ibex had been willing to take on their supreme second in command. Setting back to Botanica, he shrugs, "We haven't been 'together' for very long, not that we're separate entities or something... it's very very vague and hard to explain... but do you get this?"

Botanica listens to Ramulus's explanation with no small amount of surprise- and a touch of confusion. Some of what he explains makes sense, matches up with what is, well, normal when it comes to beast-era mechs. But what confuses her is that some of what he says seems more in line with her timeframe than it should, as if somehow a reformatting like hers and the others had been started and then interrupted, or some such. How odd.
"I have never felt alien, no, as if some part does not match the whole," she begins slowly, "That said, I am also quite unique among my own. Though not the only one of my expedition to take on a plant alternate mode, I am the only one to return and be reformatted as such. At least to our knowledge; we have not fully canvased our reformatted planet yet."
"I can speak with some authority on how...fully the needs of the one form can be integrated into the other. For example, while I will not wilt for want of sunlight and rain, I do need these-or approximations- to perform at optimum function. And then there are my abilities." On cue, a small wildflower burst into bloom beside her. "I am not separate from my alt mode, nor am I 'in balance'. It is full intergration. I am just as much a Zantedeschia Alata Utricularia as I am a Transformer."
She shakes her head, "I have not encountered one with your problem before. It sounds as if something interrupted the reformatting process of your protoform, hence the separation of beast instinct from robot will. There...may be a way to repair the damage. I shall have to research...and weigh consequences."

Thinking some more, Ramulus finds himself shaking his head again, "It's a difficult and strange situation; I'm not sure what happened, just that there was damage, and it healed up... I am unfamiliar with your concept of reformatting, but if you feel it's a something, feel free to analyse."
He then tilts his head, a wry, sad smile coming up on his lips. "you say that if that's the case you might be able to 'fix' me? I admire your willingness to help, but my beastmode is the least of my problems..." Really, the best should be saved for last; "The crash of my stasispod damaged systems, most got repaired on their own as we had no CR-chambers..... but my sparkcore remains... fractured".
He points to the crystalshield in his chest, which leads to the internal sparkchamber, and therefore shows the glow of his spark, "if I get emotionally loaded, it begins to discharge ionic pulses; the more distressed I get, the harder they hit me.... and my surroundings." He leaves the full extent of such a predicament -stasislock- to Botanica's logic systems. He remains calm, eerily calm.

She waves a hand, 'My Cybertron is fully-integrated technorganic now, as are all of those that are left upon it. Reformatted by Oracle, Sigma, and Matrix, a last ditch effort at saving us all from extinction at Megatron's hands." She'll refrain from going into details about restoring balance and the organic core, unless asked. It tends to be a rather...volatile subject.
"In reference to yourself, I meant when your protoform first assimilated your beast mode. But..you say your spark itself is damaged?" The worry on Botanica's face is quite evident. What Ramulus describes is akin to having a bad heart in an organic, a faulty power converter or core in a mech. It is, she thinks, a Very Bad Thing.tm
She attempts to reach out, place a soothing hand on Ramulus's arm. That he seems calm does not mean he is, and she is too much a mother to not offer the comfort. "Such a severing...I've not heard of such before. Subversion of spark, yes, imprinting of another base code but not a breaking...and such a consequence...." She shakes her head. "This will have to be shared, not just with the medical team, but with command. I hope you realize this?"

"You want to do what!?" No he doesn't realize! "Why, Botanica?! What do they know about sparkcores?!" His sudden nervosity sends a sharp pulse through his system, and depending on Botanica's proximity, the shock might chance to jump across. It's intensive enough to have him winch; a harsh warning to calm himself quickly.
Thus Ramulus stumbles back, eyeing the other Maximal in toned down annoyance and fear while taking his distance, "I don't want to be put on low-active duty here! I want to help just as good as anyone else..... I don't want to risk them having any reason to burden others with stuff I could've done!" Shaking his head furiously in defiance, he locks his stare on Botanica, "I don't see why they should know! They're not even as familiar with all of this as you seem to be.... or are they?"
He listens, but, this is such a bad idea. Bad for him!

Botanica does indeed get a shock in exchange for her compassion, but though she winces and her hand twitches, it does not change either her intent of action. It is only when Ramulus distances himself that she lets her hand drop, absently rubbing her singed fingertips.
Another small plant pops up, and she breaks off a small piece, applying the sap to her fingers, "Calm yourself, please Ramulus. I mean no harm nor slight. But let me ask you this- if you were in command of a group, and one of those under your command had an injury which may affect a mission adversely would you not want to know about it?"
She shakes her head, "I cannot imagine that the answer would be no. I am not talking about broadcasting far and wide; who you tell beyond Xaaron, Rodimus, Wedge, and First Aid is up to you. And you will not be placed on light or inactive duty, I can assure you. We are in too much need here."
"They know next to nothing about our kind, Ramulus, and they rely upon us to be honest with them about our needs. If they will not censure me for my flaw, which is considerably more encompassing- will instead try to accommodate it- they will not censure you for yours."
Her words all along have been soft and even, as if she is trying to talk a deer out of bolting.

Winching as he sees how Botanica tends to her hand, Ramulus looks on with embarrasment, listening intently. In the end he shakes his head, "I'm sorry about that. No, you are right" He steps back towards her, what with the shockiness having faded away, "They have a good need to know, so I'll be having nothing against it; it was... selfish of me to object" and unwise, let's not forget that....
Turning back towards the growth, he points out a few specimens; "These will do fine, and like I said, it would leave more rations for the others, though I do not wish to go completely off those, since I'm not sure if it affects my capabilities as a technological being"
Thinking of something, he glances back at Botanica, "Do I need to tell them, or, if such a thing falls under your responsibilities, is that something you want to do alone?"

Botanica smiles at Ramulus as he relents, an understanding sort of smile. She does understand his reluctance, she really does. At least he did not ask her for details of her own problem.
"All things considered, it may be better for me to broach the subject. I have a meeting with Rodimus tomorrow, and, despite what his poor wording earlier indicated, he does seem to understand us a bit better than Xaaron." She frowns, "Xaaron is a good leader, he does what must be done, but he seems...less flexible at times."
She notes which grasses Ramulus points out, mentally calculating their spatial and dietary needs. It will be tricky; so many of the specimens are more tropical....but she will make it work.
"I would also caution against over-supplementation. After Primal and the others were reformatted in my time, they attempted to consume an organic food source. Doing so seemed to....switch control of their bodies from the thinking robot to the reacting beast, and things were quite hairy for awhile, according to Cheetor. While this may not be an issue considering that you are not fully integrated, your other problems...well, better to be safe than sorry."
