There are some who think Shockwave completely devoid of emotion.
There are some who think his lack of a face means that even if he has emotions, one can not read them.
They are mistaken. And Shockwave is suddenly very glad this is a private encounter. For if anyone were to witness his complete and utter shock and.....incomprehension at Mixmaster's actions, Shockwave would have to kill them.
He does not return the embrace. Rather, he looks much like a fly pinned to a wall, arms splayed out, as if pushing back against the metal will somehow allow him to sink into it. What in Primus's name is he supposed to do with an armful of gleeful Constructicon? No one hugs Shockwave. No one. He is not the cuddly type.
"No one," he growls, "keeps me!" No, Shockwave keeps people, not the other way around. He grabs one of Mixmaster's shoulders, fingers digging in hard, and pushes, trying to reverse their positions and pin Mixmaster against the wall. "No. One." His optic is entirely too close to Mixmaster's face, and his voice low and deadly. "Remember that Mixmaster. I will tolerate a lot, from those I find useful. I will reward and I will care for them. But do not ever presume in such a manner again."
OOC: permission given, yadda yadda.

Mixmaster hugs Shockwave! And laughs while doing it, too. He has practice with the non-cuddly types.
The chemist allows the switching of positions, laughing the entire time. "Touchy, touchy," he says, and giggles. He finally quiets a little at Shockwave's next words, said in that tone, and he really isn't suicidal. Really. But, instead of leaning away from the optic that really is far too close, Mixmaster tilts his own face closer, expression brightly inquisitive.
"Very touchy. Why, Shockers, I w-would almost say you're slightly upset!"

Poke the badger too much, Mixmaster, and you will get bitten. The fact that Shockwave lacks a mouth will not save you.
Though perhaps that is your intention, hmmm?
The Constructicon is baiting him, and Shockwave knows it. He knows it, and still his hand clamps down harder on Mixmaster's shoulder, hard enough to possibly dent and crimp metal. In that same deadly tone, he growls out, "If I were truly upset, you would no longer have a vocalizer with which to taunt me." Shockwave's accent grows a bit deeper, his voice changing from growl to soft, though it still holds an edge.
"Do not force me to do you violence, Mixmaster. I know you can not help it, I do, but you are walking a very fine line with me at the moment. Or is that what you want? To provoke me?"
His optic narrows to a pinpoint, "Careful, careful, little Constructicon, for one does not always want what one wishes for, once he has it."

Mixmaster tilts his head sharply, a wince, at the sudden feeling of pain coming from his shoulder, where Shockwave had indeed managed to dent the metal. Mixmaster squirms a bit in discomfort and slight uneasiness, but an annoyed Shockwave is still very interesting, and Mixmaster is curious. "If I lacked a vocalizer, I would only have to find other ways to stimulate you to conversation, then wouldn't I? But I wouldn't be f-forcing you to do anything," he states, falling -finally- still and leaning his head away from Shockwave's, curious expression never wavering.
"The only one who can do violence is you, dear Shockers, yes? If you do anything, it is entirely of your own choosing, I think, unless you are saying that I have the ability to force you to do something you are unwilling to do?" Mixmaster's optics dance and he laughs, softly though, and not so loud.
He wants to see how far he can push this Shockwave before it gets too dangerous. It's that insatiable curiousty of his. "I can't know I don't want it until I know what it is, now can I, Shockwave?"
It's going to get him killed someday, he's sure, but at least he'll die happy.

Shockwave knows Mixmaster can be just as violent, just as dangerous, as he, himself, can be. It is the Decepticon way; one does not live long with that brand if one is weak, defective or too easily cowed. And the chemist has his own brand of insane violence to bring to bear.
It is one of the greatest of his charms.
"And just for that bit of impudence, Mixmaster, I am going to do something terribly cruel," Shockwave purrs, his grip on Mixmaster changes from crushing to caressing. "I," he leans close again and murmurs, "am going to leave you wanting, your boundless curiosity unsatisfied."
With that Shockwave releases Mixmaster and steps away. He turns, fully intending to exit unless Mixmaster does something drastic.

Mixmaster doesn't quite stiffen at the touch turned caress, but it's close. After all, there are very few reasons for someone to suddenly change tactics after a threat, very few of them anything good.
It's probably quite telling that most of Mixmaster's tension does not come from fear, but from excited anticipation.
And then Shockwave backs off, last words ringing and...
Mixmaster flickers his optics in surprise after Shockwave's retreating back. Then he crosses his own arms and scowls. "Not fair," he snaps after Shockwave, "you don't just go a-around shoving mechs up against walls, growling even, and then walk away!" And leaving him so curious like this was such a dirty and sneaky and so very cruelly, underhandedly unfair tactic that it made Mixmaster's engine purr a little in delight.
No, Mixmaster does not do anything drastic Shockwave. Not yet. He only giggles to himself, a mixture of annoyance and piqued curiosity, and retreats to his work. It would be very boring after all, if Shockwave had let him figure everything out so easily.
Satisfying, yes, but so very boring.
