"That sounds interesting. I wish I'd met them," Skyfire said wistfully. He also listens for Holi's response, while looking over the party. As guest of honor, he felt obliged to see everyone home and close out the party. He'd be the last one to leave tonight.
"Remind me when we get back to work on that 3-D reconstruction of the probe to have Kup and Wheelie take a look at it, too." Alas, Skyfire couldn't resist slipping a bit of work into the conversation.

Holi nods in response to being pressed for further information, but takes a second or two to pick up his own drink again and sip it circumspectly before tendering his answer.
"Jan's parents were scientists," he recounts carefully, and if he sounds a little stilted, it's because the history of Jan's adoption is awkward and he's never really had to go over it before; it was common knowledge among his Autobots. "They were aboard a research station in space when the Dinoforce attacked it. Jan was still just a baby then, so his parents called the Autobots for help and got him into an escape pod. He escaped, but… well, they didn't." Holi peers into his drink for several long, heavy moments before continuing in a less grave tone, "Supreme Commander Star Saber found and rescued him, and chose to take responsibility for him. So he adopted him, and Jan's been living with us Autobots ever since." It's how Holi has managed to rack up so many babysitting hours; as the smallest of Star Saber's group, he was best suited to handle a tiny human infant. Go on, find another Micromaster who knows how to properly change a diaper.
Alright, so babysitting Jan hasn't always been the most glorious of jobs Star Saber could give him – and he really could've done without getting drawn on – but it's had its bright spots, too. And all the food in his seats, all the teasing and taunting, all the flowers and squiggles drawn in marker over his paint and all the mockery aside, Jan is still his friend. Or so he hopes. He's been gone a long while now….
"Well, he's still living with us, but he's going to school with other human kids now," Holi adds, redirecting his own train of thought. "And does he ever need it." Hey, what little boys can't resist ribbing each other? Though it isn't the same, he decides, without Jan here to make comebacks.
