Kup follows Swerve to the table. Despite the fact that he's had considerably more to drink than the constable, his expression is decidedly sober. Unlike most of the others, he grabs a cube and helps himself to some of the remaining mid-grade. His old container is still left where he set it down. He's rather intentionally not cleaning up after himself tonight.
He dips his head faintly to Mirage and Emirate Xaaron by way of greeting. "'Evening."

It could be pointed out that Mirage is filling Emirate Xaaron's glass from the same bowl as he did previously, and that Mirage had already mentioned that he did not wish a refill. But if Xaaron wishes to be paranoid he may, and Mirage only shrugs as the Emirate makes a point of not drinking the drink he requested.
Kup and Swerve's arrivals provide a much needed respite from conversation grown tedious, and Mirage smiles wryly at them both. To Swerve he says, "I've had both worse and better times, but this evening has been enjoyable, yes. Yourselves?"

Emirate Xaaron shifts uncomfortably before answering Swerve with a muttered, "Decent." He can't call it bad. He's not dead. He can't call it enjoyable, either, but there are few things that he would call enjoyable.
He eyes both Swerve and Kup nervously. Has Kup done anything to Swerve? He better have not. If he did... Emirate Xaaron will do absolutely nothing. It's all he good for.

Swerve gives Mirage an understanding smile.
"I've had a fair time," he replies. Most of what he found unpleasant was necessary and generally balanced out by the overall easy atmosphere of the party. And Jazz. As much as Swerve didn't entirely appreciate being spun around, it's hard for him to keep blaming anyone so thoroughly enjoying the festivities. And Kup was good enough to keep him from eating rooftop, for which he's really quite grateful. It's been a better occasion than he thought it would, but he'll keep that to himself.
He shifts his attention to Emirate Xaaron instead; why the discomfort? he has to wonder. Just what sorts of topics have been discussed? Emirate Xaaron seemed well enough the last time Swerve checked….
"Is there anything I can do, sir?" asks the constable quietly, his tone speaking both concern for Emirate Xaaron and apology for his absence. He can at least try to improve the situation somehow.

"Eh," Kup answers casually. "I haven't had enough to drink, and the only punches thrown weren't by me, but beyond that, it's been a fair enough night." He turns to the others as he takes a moment to down nearly half his cube. Obviously he's not worried about drugged energon.
"Company's a bit, well, mixed for what I'd usually call a real party, though," he grins. "But it'll do."

Mirage chuckles, "Yes, mixed indeed. We are an odd group aren't we?" He glances around the rooftop, taking in those remaining. Looks like a few people have overindulged, and that looks like Skyblast resting in the corner.
"Next time, perhaps we might arrange the music before hand. Give the gathering some semblance of coherency at least. And perhaps a better variety of mixers, more options in the like."

Emirate Xaaron scurries over to Swerve side and assures, "Just being here is quite enough, Swerve."
He closes the distance between him and Swerve a bit at Kup's comments. Company is too mixed, is it? Two too many politicians is what he means.
Now, more mixers is something that Emirate Xaaron could get behind, but he isn't going to mention that.

"All right, sir," is Swerve's dutiful reply even as he turns himself ever so slightly to afford Emirate Xaaron that space behind his shoulder on the off chance it'll be needed – a move not entirely uncalled for, he decides when his leader edges closer. Louder, he continues in a conciliatory tone, "I don't particularly mind the company. It's a nice change from the ordinary." Considering the constable's definition of ordinary, this is a gross understatement. "And the music was decent… for the most part." He can't lie and say he liked all of it. Or even most of it. But it wasn't intolerable.
He will not, however, be cajoled into drinking again if he can help it. He'll leave the mixers to those who'll enjoy them.

Actually, Kup was talking about all the kiddies. Not polite to start a good brawl in front of the young one's - despite Nightbeat's attempts previously.
Kup nods. "Odd indeed," he sighs before taking another long sip. He chuckles ruefully and says softly, "Just when you think you've seen it all... all things considered, though, we're doing pretty well." Kup eyes the empty container of high grade. "Next time, though, the dragon stays away from the drinks."
Kup watches the alternate Emirate and the alternate Swerve for a moment, and seems to be considering something. Finally, though, he blurts it out. "You two ready to call it a night?" Might as well take over guard duties from Arcee and Mirage for a bit. He'll need some time to think about things, anyway.

Mirage shoots Kup a grateful look. He doesn't mind playing Swerve's keeper for the most part, and this Emirate hadn't been bad company, but Mirage really did want a break. After all, that had been the original idea when he and Arcee were first given their tasks, he thought.
"On that note, I do hope you all will excuse me? Skyblast appears to have been abandoned by his fellows, and someone should check up on him. Emirate," Mirage reaches out and takes Xaaron's hand, raises it to his lips and places a light kiss on the back of it, "Thank you ever so much for indulging me. So nice to know that I'm not the only one of the group from a cultured background." He lets Xaaron's hand fall, then turns to go check on the tiny sulky jet."
Privately to Kup: //I assume you'll want to talk to me later?//
OOC: radio message cross-posted to radio thread. Freaking out Kissing of Xaaron-3 done w/ permission. And Mirage is out of the thread.

Hiding behind Swerve implies that he has reason to hide and implies that he thinks that he is in danger. People tend to be inclined to oblige him of such thoughts. It's better to not show fear, if he can avoid it.
Emirate Xaaron inquires archly of Kup, "Are we so dangerous as to warrant your personal attention?" As that was perhaps a bit standoffish, he quickly ameliorates, "But I am not averse to heading back, if Swerve is agreeable."
Mirage quite nearly leaves Emirate Xaaron dumbstruck. The reaction is useless, and he tries to force himself out of it, force himself past the desire to cringe, because neither of those are terribly helpful right now. He mumbles, his words clumsy and uncollected, "You're welcome."
Emirate Xaaron really doesn't mean that at all, not one bit, and he does duck behind Swerve now, just to hide whatever has to be on his face.
But what would Mirage make of his real background?

Swerve wouldn't mind turning in, really. Some rest would do him no end of good; the day has been a pretty busy one and the party has left him feeling just a little… thin.
A fact made painfully clear when he stands there gawking dumbly as Mirage kisses Emirate Xaaron. Only on the back of his hand – and what an odd place to kiss someone like that, comes the idle thought – but… he kissed Emirate Xaaron. The constable can't seem to get past that point, testament to the effects of high grade and fatigue on his beleaguered processors. Only belatedly does he kick himself back into gear, one arm automatically extended behind himself a few protective degrees when Emirate Xaaron retreats to his back.
"I think it's about time to close the event, yes," he agrees with the faintest edge to his voice, tracking Mirage with unusually bright optics and a stern shade of a frown tugging at the corners of his mouth. He isn't exactly averse to a change in guard, either, and turns on Kup an expression that is and isn't the most pleasant thing in the world while he drags his manners back into place and tries to reassemble the polite face he normally presents. He adds, voice still not back to its normal evenness, "Thank you kindly for asking, Kup. Sir?" and he glances to Emirate Xaaron, and suddenly that sharpness is gone, "Whenever you're ready."
OOC: Wrapping up here in a bit, then?

Kup shakes his head faintly, gaze skyward, at both the kiss and the, in his opinion, overblown reactions to the kiss. Pretty interesting overblown reactions, though, aren't they?
"Possibly," Kup answers Emirate Xaaron's question about the danger they may represent, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips that suggests he may be joking. Maybe. "And even if not, looks like everyone else is occupied." That's the problem with being the one who has to make sure a job gets done - if you want to give everyone else a break, that means you're the one doing it.
Without another word - because if they've all agreed, what more words are needed? - Kup turns and heads towards the ramp, slow only at first to make sure he's being followed.
OOC: I'm good with calling the thread done, unless you two have something you absolutely need to add.
