Slingshot is faster than a Harrier has any right to be. But he's not really a Harrier; he's a Transformer who looks like one. The laws of physics can go hang.
As soon as he's far enough up, he breaks Mach 1 as he takes off towards the interior of the continent.

Following after Slingshot away from the party, Oracle takes a moment to think wryly that it's probably a good thing she's faster then he is, or this would be an interesting, if possibly tedious, game of follow the leader. This would be because she doesn't have his radio frequency, and she really doesn't feel like using the broadband to try and contact him, the first of which she ought to fix.
Still, faster or not it does take her some time to make up for her later start and belated transformation, so by the time she gets within hailing range they have moved a fair distance inland. Considering he hasn't seen her in her jet mode before, she does take the precaution of sending him a quick hail over the local radio. //Mind company?//

//If I said 'yeah', would you go away?// Slingshot corkscrews, then performs an Immelman to point himself back towards Oracle even though he winds up in higher airspace than she's flying through.

Giving what appeared to be a thoughtful pause, though internally she was really snickering to herself, Oracle watched the other jet fly with interest even as she replied. //Possible, though not likely. I'd be less likely to try and converse though.//
And speaking of conversing, now that she was getting another look at Slingshot's alt-mode, maybe she did have something to talk about with him. //Harrier hm? You'd like the jets they come out with to replace that line I think.// She wasn't going to mention the only reason she knew any details was she almost picked that jet herself when she got reformatted.

//Replace the Harrier?// Slingshot squawks. //Only way you could make me better is if I had better sensors and could carry a heavier payload1!//
Yes, Slingshot over-identifies just a wee bit with his jet-mode. When your group doesn't all turn into the same kind of equipment, you figure out what each of you can do that's special. And in some cases, get fiercely attached to your awesome.

1. All things an F-35B has, plus an F-35B is stealthier than a Harrier. Also, doesn't randomly flip out and kill pilots. Oh, and F-35s are bigger, too.
Congratulations, Oracle is the biggest Autobot fighter jet around.

If she could, Oracle would have blinked at the vehemence of Slingshot's reply. //Err, yes? That's pretty much exactly what the F-35B Lightning II is. But it's also stealthier, larger and well, faster.// Though considering as Transformers they tended to go faster then the Earth built versions of themselves did, that might be less of a concern for him, though she doubted he would mind the extra speed.
//I should still have the specs if you want to see them.// Though she really would need his frequency for that.

This time her startled response is enough to make her wobble slightly in the air, and there's a definite pause before she speaks again. //Just what I said? Technology progresses and all that...?//

Slingshot goes spiralling up, then dives down to her air level and barrel rolls around her. Okay, so she was from the future. The future where they had a better Harrier.
A better Harrier.
When he finally speaks again, he's flying above her and a little ahead. He sounds a lot more calm. Thoughtful, even. //You said you had specs for it?//

Watching Slingshot's antics with some amount of trepidation, Oracle relaxes slightly when it becomes apparent his agitation seems to have died down. She didn't really think she had any reason to be wary, but well....being circled by an agitated jet was enough to make her a little nervous. The overcharge still in her systems probably wasn't helping her paranoia either for that matter.
A thoughtful jet on the other hand, was much easier to talk to. //Yes, the F-35B Lightning II is the STOVL variant of the jet I chose for myself, and I kept the specs afterward when I finished comparing the two.//

//Yes, like blueprints.// Oracle had a feeling she knew why he had asked, but she wasn't sure it was plausible. Still, it couldn't hurt to give him a copy to look at, right?

//If you give me your radio frequency, sure. I can't just think them over to you.// Weird talent she might have, but that's not part of it.
