Emirate Xaaron nods and confirms, "Yes, we had a report from him during the attack. Just nothing after. He's not responding to comms. When we're in a more stable state, I suppose we can send someone out with e Geiger counter to look for him."
But they won't have to, because Dinobot will find him before it comes to that, but Emirate Xaaron doesn't know that yet because it hasn't happened yet.

Rodimus looks towards Emirate Xaaron, functional optic a bit wider than normal. He shifts faintly and suggests, "Maybe we can go back and check the ejected segment?"

There isn't a moment of hesitation. Emirate Xaaron smiles and is happy to be able to say, "We didn't have to eject a segment, after all."
Poor Rodimus Prime, so confused!
"Just ejecting the Decepticons seemed to work."

The working portion of Rodimus's mouth pulls up in an attempted grin. "That's great!" His voice doesn't carry at all, as low a power as he's operating on, but still, it's obvious that the news pleases him. "Then he's most likely somewhere on this ship." Rodimus frowns.
"You don't think he might have been taken again, do you?"

"They haven't made any demands. Aside from that, I don't know," Emirate Xaaron reports, shaking his head. He doesn't hope. He'll be happy if Spy Shot 6 is alive and uncaptured, but he doesn't hope. Emirate Xaaron doesn't like to set himself up for failure, if he can avoid it. Perhaps he differs from the Prime in that respect, as they do many.

Rodimus hopes, because he is young and foolish.
And because it his nature to bring light.
"All right," Rodimus murmurs. The operational section of his mouth pulls down in a frown. Until they know for sure, hope will have to suffice.
He turns in the medical berth to look up at Xaaron. "Botanica. How's she?" He recalls how she had fallen ill during his repairs.

"She's still the CR chamber, but her condition is holding with no further spread," Emirate Xaaron reports, tabbing through his notes. They're in terrible order right now. He will need to organise them.
Emirate Xaaron doesn't mention that the chamber itself is infected.

Rodimus relaxes. He doesn't know to ask about whether the CR chamber is infected! His optic dims. "S'good. Anything... anything else I should know about?"
Because Rodimus is totally in a position to do something about anything Emirate Xaaron might have to tell him about.
OOC: Unless Xaaron wants to tell Roddy a bed time story or some such, this looks to be wrapping up?

OOC: Oh man, I sort of want to do that now! XD
If Rodimus Prime doesn't know now about the CR chamber, he can find out later when he's recovered. No sense in telling him now and making him worry.
Emirate Xaaron is about to return to his administrative busy work, but he pauses and looks at Rodimus Prime thoughtfully. He asks hesitantly, "Would you like a story?"
Rodimus Prime is Kup's student, after all. Perhaps he would, if he was so bold as to ask Emirate Xaaron for a lullaby.

Rodimus jerks and emits a strange, rough, electronic noise. It's so different from his usual voice that it may be difficult to realize that he's laughing pretty hard, but he is.
It takes a moment for that to subside, and it actually pains him, but from the smile on the operational portion of his mouth, it's worth it.
"What are you, Kup, now?" he asks with an electronic snicker. Then he goes on. "Eh. Why not? Not like I'm going anywhere soon."

Emirate Xaaron lets out a short, sharp laugh. "Oh, by the Celestial Spires of Iacon, no! No, I am not, but you are his student. I thought you might - ah, I see."
Emirate Xaaron is a talker, but he's not exactly a story-teller, and the story he has in mind is nothing like a Kup story.
He starts, "So. Do you know the tale of when Primus was a sun?"
Emirate Xaaron tells mythology.

Sure, Kup tells Rodimus stories. And Rodimus gives him a hard time over it! He's going easy on Xaaron.
Rodimus's good optic narrows in mild bemusement. "No. Who's son was he?"

"Why, he was our sun, of course! Except we weren't here yet, you see," Emirate Xaaron says, entirely deadpan and serious.
"Primus didn't just rush into trapping Unicron in an asteroid. He tested it first. He tried all sorts of physical forms. First, he tried stars, and he liked them terribly much, because they reminded him of his form on the astral plane - burning but never consumed, hot, light and life-giving."
"However... as a star, he saw all that happened in his system, and the few life-forms hanging on after Unicron's ravages did not much like Primus looking into all their affairs and doings. So he tried other stars, again and again, and always it was this way."
"That is where our constellations came from - the stars that burn brightest in our skies once housed Primus."

Rodimus, in as much as his face can currently show anything, looks confused as Xaaron begins his story. After a few moments, however, realization dawns.
"I thought you meant the other kind of son!" he exclaims.
He listens, optic dimming a little, then asks, "So who was keeping Unicron busy while he was zipping around the stars?"

Emirate Xaaron laughs and shakes his head! The genealogy there is head-hurting! "No, not at all. Anyway. Primus wasn't bound to the material plane then. He could return to the astral plane at will, and distances there are... strange, as is the flow of time."
It's just a story, anyway, and if there is any truth to it, it is not in the facts or details but lies elsewhere.
