It's not a matter of being sheltered so much as there isn't a lot of consensual non-painful touching among Deadlock's Decepticon friends. The last time anyone touched him, they were slapping a stasis lock on him. And the last time he touched anyone was a good head-butt to the face.
"He was touching me in non-violent ways." Pervert. QED.
And Drift sits through Sentinel's little flashcard show. Thanks. That was...immensely non-helpful.
"Didn't I rescue your aft after you nearly blew us all up?" Seriously. This is some abstruse violation of Bros Before Hos.
If....Drift had any idea what that was.

Another voice attachment. This one irate.
"Move the personal discussion somewhere else! If it doesn't have to do with, 'What is a Transformers female,' it don't belong in this segment of the database!"

Well, Guzzle has experience with one female, might as well throw that in here.
It's a video entry. Well, not video, just a pic of some brat giving the camera a defiant and smug smirk. Over it, he narrates: "Only female from my reality that I know. Stubborn brat with a mouth. Though gotta give her credit, she went into Garrus-9 with us and wasn't squished instantly."
Oh wait, this was Transformers only wasn't it?
"....Hrn. Right. No organics. Nevermind."
Click, picture off.

This entry is a video feed.
Mirage is leaning against a wall, arms crossed over his chest, ever-present smirk clearly present on his lips. He brings one hand up to cover his mouth as he coughs softly.
"Ahem. To get back on topic. Not that this tangent isn't totally fascinating."
"I come from a reality which contains both genders, however, at the time of my displacement, females were becoming quite the minority. For some reason, there just weren't as many being brought online with a pre-set default of female." Mirage looks thoughtful for a moment. "I wonder..."
He waves a hand, "Thoughts for another time. Like in Sentinel's reality, one simply can't assume gender based on build. Overall though, our female models followed the guidelines given by Kup in his entry. Lighter build, smoother curves, often with increased agility and maneuverability. Overall, the women I have known do trend more to the protective, but they also tend to be some of the the most ruthless individuals I have known, especially when kith and kin is threatened. Most males I have known have a line they simply won't cross even in battle, be it due to honor or some other reason."
"Most women I have known," Mirage states firmly, "do not."
"I would not classify any of the women I have known, there or here, as weak. Perhaps some are not so strong as the average male, perhaps there armor is not so thick, but," Mirage's smirk widens, "I have also just described myself. And I am very definitely male."
Just ask Skyblast.
"In regards to the subject of pronouns- which is very much not stupid- some ladies are more emphatic about proper use than others, just as some males are." He's making a point here Drift. "It is polite to use the preferred pronoun set when speaking to another person, regardless of one's own opinions in regards to if we are truly a gendered society or not, or gender neutral and using pronouns to be conformist."
"Though Primus knows politeness is a quality many of our company here lack," he mutters mostly to himself just before the feed cuts out.
