Starscream knows he can't take Scourge in a straight fight. Certainly not while the tanker has all of his considerable weaponry trained on him. So he'll wait and bide his time, and suck up, after the manner of Starscreams.
"Well, you've made it quite clear where I stand, Scourge. So tell me, what is our objective? I can think of several goals I would have our forces accomplish, but as you've so elegantly stated, it isn't my call to make," he says, bowing.

User error is the most common, but Shockwave seems too careful to make that sort of mistake. However, reality tropes are strong and dangerous creatures which often exert their will regardless of a person's normal habits.
Needlenose will have no trouble find thing the normal settings, as Shockwave had the Space Bridge files and blueprints open on terminal next to the machine. Every other project is locked down, but nearly everything on the Space Bridge project will be available.
Blackarachnia frowns at Starscream. You're slighting her man with that sarcasm, jetboy. She nods in acknowledgment of Scourge's orders.
"Interesting. We needed two anchor points for out Space Bridges back home. If the second point is variable, floating, that increases the possibility of error. Anything from a solar flare to a dying star could interfere with the destination point."
"He tried to go through the bridge himself?"

Oil Slick steps out of the way of both Needlenose and Blackarachnia. They appear to both be volunteering, so he will let them do as they will. In the meantime, he stands in the vicinity of Scourge and Starscream, but not -too- close, should their tempers flare again.
At Blackarachnia's question, Oil Slick explains: "Lord Shockwave was demonstrating the device - he had opened a pair of portals, tossed something through to show how it worked. I assume he was attempting to shut the device off when the portals collapsed. There was a bright flash, a wave of energy, and when my optics rebooted, Shockwave was gone."

Scourge pauses a moment and then puts his trailer away. He could pull it out any time, Starscream! Don't get cocky! Scourge is still contemplating asking his girlfriend to perma-poison Starscream, anyway. The idea has:
Disadvantages - Makes it hard to break up with Blackarachnia if a cute missile truck shows up. Gives Blackarachnia power over Scourge. - Somewhat implies to Starscream that Scourge is afraid of him, by being underhanded and having him poisoned, instead of just putright killing Atarscream. - Puts Starscream in a bad mood.
Advantages - If Starscream kills Scourge in his defrag, Starscream dies, too, as long as Blackarachnia withholds the antidote. She doesn't like jets. So...
It's just one advantage, but it is a good one! Scourge will think about it.
"Right now, we're just going to sort out the chain of command. Starscream, you're second in command," Scourge directs, as he sidles over to where Team Science is working to observe their work. "We need someone in charge of the General Forces, and I think we have enough of them to split into air and ground. As for my objectives, those'll wait for the announcement speech, if Needlenose doesn't zot Shockwave back in the next five minutes."
This will be so anti-climactic if Needlenose does that. Don't do that, Needlenose.

Needlenose zots Shockwave back!
No, wait, he doesn't do that.
That would be anti-climatic.
Once he verifies that the problem wasn't user error, he begins to get a better look at the schematics shown on the terminal. As he does, he notes, "In my reality, the first 'space bridge' was literally that. A bridge. It didn't need to have a set terminal point exactly, but once it was activated, the other end of the bridge would appear where we needed it to be. There are rumors that the Autobots had developed a smaller 'portal' like bridge, but as I understand, that one only needed the one anchor point, too. Rumor is it wasn't all that reliable, though... for pretty much the reasons you mentioned."
He tilts his head and one of his antennae skews slightly out, brows furrowed as he studies the schematics. "I think... I think this might be based off my reality's space bridge tech, actually."

Starscream isn't being sarcastic. He rarely is. Even when he says things like 'I live to serve you, Lord Megatron.' He just keeps little clauses like 'for now' to himself.
And don't think he hasn't noticed Blackarachnia moving to stand beside Scourge, either. She's juggling, what, three mechs now? How many people does the tanker count as?
"Very well. What are your orders, Lord Scourge?" Starscream asks. Scourge is still dodging his questions. But no matter. He'll play the obedient servant. It'll likely fool no-one, but he can hardly hope to beat the Prime-lookalike in a melee right now.

Scourge counts as one. One big, heavy, powerful tanker truck that even Blackarachnia will admit leaves her prior beaus in the dirt. Or grinds them into it. But let's not split hairs.
"You think so?" she asks Needlenose when the Mayhem makes his conjecture, "Hrm."
Blackarachnia leans in closer to Needlenose, supposedly to get a better look at the schematics. As she does so, she murmurs, "Now, I know I can't order you to play science tech if you don't want. But if you do recognize the technology..."
She lets the request trail off. And that's just what it is- a request.
Louder, she says, "If we can pull the destination history, it might have saved the random coordinates."

Scourge could ask Oil Slick! He can poison circles around Blackarachnia with both servos stasis-cuffed behind his back! And none of that getting-stuck-being-indebted-to-a-conniving-spider-girlfriend stuff.
Instead you get indebted to a sadistic drug-dealer. This might not be a good idea.
For now, Oil Slick will stand around quietly observing unless needed.

"So this device is a bootleg of a bootleg?" Scourge asks Needlenose. He seems to faintly disapprove. Shockwave should have been more careful with himself!
Actually, though Scourge doesn't know it, the chain is like this: 1) Spanner, neutral scientist, develops spacebridge. 2) Decepticons steal spacebridge from Spanner and build Spanner into the spacebridge while he's still alive. 3) Spanner begs Blaster for death. Blaster obtains intel on spacebridge. 4) Emirate Xaaron's scrappy rebels have a prototype nausea-inducing spacebridge based off such. 5) Emirate Xaaron has Perceptor reconstruct spacebridge based off old notes. 6) Frenzy steals Perceptor's plans. 7) Shockwave combines Frenzy's intel with spacebridge work from his own universe. The work that made Megatron and Optimus Prime vanish.
Why was anyone expecting a cloak and dagger game of Telephone to produce a working spacebridge?
Scourge replies to Starscream, "Catch," and wings him a datastick, hard. It has command codes for what Starscream will need as acting second in command! Cool stuff! Boring work. Enjoy that security clearance upgrade!
And then wrangle Duskwing and Slugslinger.

"Mmmmm. Yes, yes. I'm part of this investigation, anyway," Needlenose answers, waving slightly. "Spacebridge design is a good distance from my specialty, but I'll do what I can." He tilts his head and one antennae cocks slightly outward. Then he lifts one of the spacebridge panels open and his wings droop.
"Some of the recent memory's burned out. I know it was pretty obvious that wherever the thing opened, it wasn't where it was supposed to open, but with these burn-outs, I don't think we're going to be able to trace where it actually did open."
He looks up at Scourge as the tanker asks about the thing being a bootleg of a bootleg. "Hmmm. Pretty much that, yes," he admits."

Sometimes a cloak and dagger game of Telephone is all you've got. The idea of not developing a technology that the Autobots have a working version of is unthinkable. Of course, if it was Starscream, he wouldn't have used himself as a test subject. Seems like an illogical decision, that.
The jetformer nimbly catches the datastick and plugs it into his arm, assimilating the command codes and beginning to go over data. There's not that much here that he didn't already know, though some of the medical files are very interesting.
He's been meaning to put the fear of God into put the fear of Starscream into "wrangle" Duskwing and Slugslinger for a while now, anyway. Perhaps he'll pay them a visit once he's done in here.

Shockwave did not use himself as a test subject! He got caught up in a reality-appropriate malfunction!
Blackarachnia continues to poor over the schematics for several minutes. Her brow furrows, though it's hard to see that behind the helmet. "Hrm,"
She opens up a panel and moves aside a bundle of wires.
"Think there was a leak of some sort. Everyone should go decon once we leave."
Straightening up, she addresses the group, "He could be lost completely, or he could have been dropped anywhere in the universe. Given his skills, if he's alive, I'm sure he'll find us before we find him."
OOC: Gonna suggest a fade/end to this thread.

OOC: Yes please.
"Hmm. Should have simplified the controls to a big red button, put it on an away boat, and had Duskwing and Slugslinger test it," Scourge muses.
Maybe that should be the new standard testing procedure.
"Right, showers for everyone," Scourge mutters when Blackarachnia mentions they need to decon.

"Hmmm," Needlenose answers as the showers are mentioned. His guns are at his side, in magnetic holsters - he wasn't about to go into a situation like this without them - and that means they'll have to decon them, too.
"Very well." He looks up at the others. "I'll report when I have something, but I won't hold hopes too high for much beyond, 'It glitched.'" And then he gets back to the investigation.
OOC: Agreed. If not, skippable.

"So you're saying we shouldn't look for our missing leader," Starscream says, leveling his optics at Blackarachnia. Sure, everyone was thinking it, but she's the one who Starscream is implying sounds disloyal for saying it!
He just grunts at the comment about decontamination. A big pile-up as everyone heads to the showers is just exactly what he does not need when he's try to plot his next move in his little Full Stasis match against Scourge.
OOC: Wrap it!
