“Ooh, are we going there already?” The words contrast quite nicely against the expression of absolute fawning on Farlane’s face. “Well, I guess it was inevitable but I didn’t think we’d start quite this early. Did we ruin your date night that badly?”
Farlane is mostly trying to distance himself at this point. The question was a bit too close to home. It was okay to flirt with really sexy and really dangerous Decepticons when he was a neutral. It wasn’t so okay now, no matter how much of a neutral he tries to be, especially when ‘Autobot’ was not as distant a memory anymore. Much as he really didn’t want a part in this fragging war again, he was slowly coming to terms that he’d been dragged back anyways.
Slowly, mind, and with a lot of denial still. He also really, really wished Needlenose wasn’t so damned pretty.

"Oh, my date's going wonderfully, dear, thanks for asking," Needlenose answers almost dismissively. "But it is rather glaring, isn't it? With all those decorations all over your glorious little body, the one that's missing becomes that much more obvious, doesn't it?"
With that, he attempts to twirl Farlane. If allowed, as Farlane moves closer once more, he'll follow it up by dipping his partner.

Oh, did that strike a chord? Spinister's blades twitch a bit in satisfaction. He muses, "There have always been enemies abhorrent enough for us to find common ground."
Sure, he's implying that the Quintessons are one, but he's not outright stating it.
"Mmm. So. You have any better lines than that, or do I need to do all the work here?" It won't be pretty if Spinister does. He does wetwork.

"I have better lines," Mirage drawls as he settles back in his chair, once more at complete ease, "I thought you'd be more appreciative of the direct approach. I know Iget tired of people constantly trying to prove themselves better than the best."
A waiter passes by and obtrusively places Mirage's preferred drink before the spy, along with another offering for Spinister. The new drink-a fizzy fuchsia liquid served in a champagne flute- is shaded to compliment Spinister's coloring. Tiny threads of glowing teal spiderweb through the fluid.
"Mmm, speaking of," Mirage says as he eyes the two drinks, "Someone is trying too hard to please us."

Farlane’s engine emits a deep purr as he is dipped, the hand on Needlenose’s shoulder sliding over to playfully flick at the collar of that handsome suit. “Much as I would love to show you where my faction symbols are, I think your boyfriend is definitely going to murder me if I do.”
Admit to being neutral and probably probably get killed or admit to being an Autobot and and be actively hunted? Not too big of a difference between the two, especially as a neutral associated with Autobots anyways. Odd that the jet should be ever-so-curious about that particular subject.

Of course Needlenose is interested! He's always on the look out for potential recruitment possibilities!
"Mmmmm." Needlenose's antennae fall back, one cocked slightly in a manner that suggests pleased and relaxed. "You know, I always did wonder what those rub-signs were really for," he murmurs.
He pulls Farlane up again, and they're off across the dance floor. "Or did you have them where you're from?" he asks, casual curiosity.

"I am not much for conversation," Spinister admits or perhaps warns. He picks his drink up, carefully but without grace, and he considers it, adding in an almost self-depreciating fashion, "But I like to think I'm a hard target."
It's a little pun - a soft target is a person; a hard target is a a tank, building, or military installation, but he's also joking that he isn't an easy mark in the club scene - or an easy mark on the battlefield.
Spinister sips his drink. Not really to his tastes, but it's pretty. He sets it back down and then suggests, "Go for a walk with me?"
If Mirage is up to no good, he won't do the no good here, so Spinister wants to see if he'll go, and if so, where.

Mirage chuckles softly, " Spinister, dear, don't be so humble. You are the hardest target. It's part of your appeal."
He takes a sip of his drink, optics dancing with shrewd humor. He caught Spinster's meaning, of course. This doesn't make Mirage's comments any less valid.
The spy stands and moves to Spinister's side in one easy graceful motion, offering the other sniper an arm up.
" A turn around the room would certainly be refreshing. I am at your service."
"For now."

While Farlane can definitely flirt with Decepticons, actually being one was an entirely different matter. Certainly it was something he’d thought about before, having been in close contact with them- but it never entirely fit. Mostly, the possibility disturbed him.
Here and now though, dress swishing behind him as they move across the floor, there was the issue of rub signs to address. “Not as far as I know, and I like to think that I know something about kinky things,” Farlane chuckles. “You guys must have interesting pick up lines there, huh?”

"No rub signs? Oh, for shame!" Needlenose replies, throwing his head back melodramatically. "I would say that some of our pick-up lines are interesting, yes, but the creative sorts hardly need something like that to work from!"
As Needlenose continues to lead Farlane across the dance floor, a quick glance suggests that his attention is no longer entirely on his partner. It would seem that he's noticed that Spinister and Mirage have stood up!

Spinister snorts. He's not humble, just wary. Spinister accepts the possibility that there is someone out there who is better than him, and he is ever-vigilant, should he meet him (or her, for that matter).
Spinister grabs his cane, debating taking Mirage's arm. Mirage has already observed Spinister's shaking, though. So, not without some inner debate, he takes Mirage's arm.
There's an art gallery up here, isn't there? A small one. Spinister looks that way, obviously intending to encourage Mirage to go that way, looking at Needlenose and Farlane out of the corner of his optic. He nods just slightly to let Needlenose know he's fine.

Mirage nods approvingly at Spinster's hint, steering the sniper toward the gallery. It's smaller than the one Mirage and Rodimus visited, but the work is of much more superior quality. It appears to actually be a single body of work by one individual, the works all life paintings with heavy lights and shadows. Technically impeccable, stirring imagery but there's a... flatness to them, as if the artist left a key ingredient. Like passion.
He gives Needlenose a little nod and smirk as well. Smile, nod, play the game. Inwardly though, Mirage is a bit weary of it all. This could be so much fun if they didn't all have different allegiances.
Well, and if there wasn't the threat of random drugging, kidnapping, and vivisection.
"You appreciate art as well as artists, Spinister?" Mirage asks conversationally.

“Ooh, you are making me too curious about those now. They sound like they’ll be devastating amounts of fun in the berth!” Gossipping about Decepticon love lives and kinks counted as information gathering, right?
“Are you the creative sort then, m’dear?” Farlane catches Mirage and Spinister standing up to leave out of the corner of his optic but he keeps his focus on Needlenose. Blue boy could take of himself, although Farlane does wonder what those two were up to. “You are a brilliant dancer if I may say so myself. I would have guessed no less!”

"Oh, I am, I am!" Needlenose agrees cheerfully, his antennae tilting back with pleasure as he agrees with Farlane's assessment of his dancing abilities. Or he's agreeing with Farlane's suggestion that he's the creative sort?
Probably both.
"But, hmm, the rub signs. Turns out they weren't terribly practical. A bit of a short lived fad, they were, though every now and again they make a comeback. You know how it goes... these things move in cycles!"

Spinister's gaze actually lingers over the pieces. If they are cold and lacking passion, perhaps they are like himself. Then, at Mirage's questions, he looks back in the direction where Needlenose would be, though Needlenose is not there.
So maybe he's not like these pieces at all.
Spinister is not hugely interested in art, but he can't feel what he does for his partner without feeling something for art. He is a casual admirer of the arts; he knows what he likes, even if he couldn't discuss the use of light and shadow or what it means.
There's one other thing. "The arts are a fine Decepticon tradition."
