Breakaway curses silently to himself. Later, he is going to go over and over the tapes of this exercise to figure out what went wrong where. At the moment, he keeps laying down suppressive fire at the encroaching enemies, dashing toward one of the convoy trucks to kick the back left tire out of a ditch.
//Fall back to base. Jetfire, torch anything trying to follow us. Move it, go!// he transmits on a frequency both the Nebulan rebels and the other Autobots can hear, waving his arm to signal the retreat.
Said retreat begins, albeit with much confusion. Turning trucks around on narrow mountain roads (under fire) is difficult. Sim-Optimus resorts to picking up the end of one of the trucks and carrying it around so it faces the right way.

//Yes, sir, Breakaway!//
Torching things is what Jetfire does best! He sweeps over the turning convoy, flamethrowers prepped to immolate any badness-bots (and badness-Nebulans) that head their way. The surrounding trees might end up a bit toasted, too, but just a little, really!

If Breakaway didn't want the trees toasted, he wouldn't have told Jetfire to cover their escape. A forest fire is just the thing to distract their enemies while they fall back, provided said fire does not outpace them getting back to base and deep-fry their allies.
Sim-Optimus falls back down into vehicle mode, tires squealing as he accelerates back toward their starting point with the rest of the convoy. Breakaway lays down more covering fire, attempting to force the Decepticons and Hive troops to keep their heads down. He meets with mixed success, and a bullet sends spiderweb cracks through the glass of his canopy.
There's a badness-bot, (looks like some kind of carformer) drawing a bead on Jetfire.

A shot from the carformer stings across Jetfire's belly even as he rolls in jet-mode to avoid enemy fire. Turning his attention to his attacker Jetfire sweeps low, preceded by a gout of flame.

Breakaway backs down the road, firing behind himself as he goes, switching between his gatling gun and sniper rifle as the situation dictates. Headshot on a Decepticon here, scatter a group of infantry there . . .
He even unleashes a thermal pulse, overheating nearby enemy weapons systems so they can't fire for a while. That's totally something he can do, even if his player keeps forgetting about it.
The Decepticon carbot dodges and rolls to avoid Jetfire's attack, but not quickly enough. Tongues of flame lick across his superstructure, melting delicate internal components into fused slag. Of course, there are two or three more Decepticons to take his place.
OOC: I suggest fading out on a general retreat?
