Since background-Springer is there to keep the background Lithones busy (such as the big guy Optimus recently jumped over), Impactor has a moment to get his bearings. Sentinel did give the spacial co-ordinates of the control room earlier over the radio, after all. He points with his harpoon at the corner where one of the bulkheads intersects the floor. "Directly through there," he pronounces, then transforms. "As it turns out, the shortest distance between any two points is a damned drill tank."
Once in vehicle mode, he has access to his sonar and other sensors, a fact which gives him pause. Open space 'reads' as a blind spot, but right now he's reading rather a large blind spot. "This is a support wall, but through that and below we've got a large drop." Then he tilts forward and his drill starts to chew through the corner. "'Course, you got a grapple, I got a harpoon, and Springer's got jump-jets, so that shouldn't be a problem." And with that, Impactor opens a whole into a rather large drop from one of the upper levels of the engine room.

There are a few bodies on the floor here. Some of them look like they were run over by a snow plow. Some look... chewed. In particular, there's Stumpy again, with a clear lance wound through his chest that's been gnawed on some, perhaps before he died. A head rolls down the hallway. It's difficult to see in the darkness, now that the lights have gone out, but it looks like... Sentinel Prime's head. The neck has been severed raggedly, the metal rent and torn, not like the clean cut that the Headmaster made. The optics are shattered and black, and the head's not moving and making obnoxious, demanding remarks. The blue paint might have blackened; it's hard to tell in the gloom. Whatever decapitated Sentinel Prime must have been traumatic, since the head isn't lively at all, but where is the rest of his body? His spark must be there. The control room that his coordinates indicated is just through that doorway. - - - OOC: SceneMod suggests that Optimus and Impactor ought to post, and then Elita-1 and SceneMod will return.

"I'm not sure drilling is the best idea, this ship seems unstable already and- nevermind." Someone had to point it out, and it wasn't going to be one of the Wreckers. Not that Impactor listened.
Optimus looks before he leaps into the hole Impactor has made, spotting a nearby catwalk that looks like it isn't about to collapse. He grapples over to it and looks down towards the floor, leaning over the railing. "Sentinel! Elita!" he calls, straining to see in the gloom. Oh, please let that not be Sentinel Prime's head. Let it be a Reaver with a giant chin.

Impactor pretty much ignores Optimus's warnings. For one thing, they're trying to blow the ship up, but for another, caution is for the living.
He breaks through the floor and starts to fall. As he does, he transforms, turns on his lights (the orange square in his chest), and blasts his harpoon towards the nearest wall (the one he had reported earlier that runs all the way up through the level above). He lets himself swing in towards it, twisting to land against it with his feet. Then he kicks away from it, releasing more line as he does, before swinging against it once more.
At this point, he's reached the end of the line, but since he doesn't have nearly as far to drop, he braces himself against the wall and yanks his harpoon loose, dropping the rest of the way. He lands heavily on his feet - heavily enough that several of his leg panels are shaken loose, and the one on the right side of his right leg falls off entirely. He scowls.
He does not look towards the head. Things like that tend to go rolling along as a distraction. Instead, he searches for what set the head rolling.

Well, there goes Impactor. Optimus Prime is not going to let another Autobot head into danger alone. Even if that other Autobot is an unkillable zombie who was a legendary badaft in his own lifetime even before he was undead.
He hooks his grapple around the railing of the catwalk and lowers himself down on the line. He's about half-way down to the floor when the railing bends, abruptly dropping him down slightly with a jerk. It's one of those moments during a tense scene where you think everything is finally about to go wrong, like you know it must, but then it is just something minor. Like when the alien in the ceiling is really just a cluster of pipes and wiring. Optimus makes it most of the way to the floor without incident before coming to the end of his line, then drops the rest of the way. His feet give two puffs of dust as he hits.
The Prime draws his axe, extends his battle mask, and scans the room. He doesn't remember actually retracting his mask, but he must have at some point.

There are several Lithone bodies crowding the area just outside the door to the control room. Some do look as if they were rammed by a snowplow. More look live they've been literally ripped apart. A few of the Lithones are alive, crouching back in the shadows or clinging to the wall and staring at the open doorway. When Impactor and Optimus drop into this little corner of hell, the Lithones growl in unison, but rather than attack, begin to slink backwards into the deeper darkness.
Whatever is in that room, they obviously want no part of it.
Should Optimus choose to look closer at the rolling head, he will see that is it indeed Sentinel Prime's. Once the pair get closer to the open doorway, Impactor's light falls on a the fallen silhouette of a very familiar no-longer-bright-blue Prime. Sentinel's paint is faded to a steely blue-gray, and aside from missing his head, there is a rather telling hole through Sentinel's upper chest.
Also visible by the light of Impactor's lamps is a decidedly non-Lithone silhouette sitting upon Sentinel's fallen body.

It is a decidedly non-Lithone silhouette that is as terribly, frighteningly familiar. A figure sporting a myriad of cuts upon its body. A figure spattered in a gruesome mix of gore and pink and orange fluids.
A figure that has just plucked a bit of Sentinel's spark casing out of his chest and is currently nibbling rather daintily upon it.
Elita-1 blinks and hisses as she brings her free hand up to shield her optics from the bright light. The feral look on her face fades for a moment as something like recognition flickers over her face.
"I can't control it. You should run."
"Because I want some more," she snarls, recognition fading as she leaps- not toward the duo, but upwards toward the ventilation shaft.

Impactor has no battle mask, though for all the indication he shows of what he's feeling at the moment, he might as well. Without hesitation, he lifts his harpoon and fires at Elita's arm, attempting to prevent her escape.
"Check the console. We need to get that countdown started again."
And then he activates his radio.

Seriously, universe? Seriously? Again with this?
Optimus Prime doesn't know what to do or say, presented with the scene in front of him. He can only stare, axe hanging limply in his hand. He doesn't really notice anything other than Sentinel Prime's corpse with Elita-1 sitting on top, eating him.
It's only when she runs away that he snaps out of it, rushing after her, calling her name. He is not going to let this happen. He is going to cuddle Elita-1 to his chestplate and stroke her helmet and murmur comforting words until she is all better and then they will put Sentinel's head back on and fix his chest because he's really not that gray, he is specifically blue-gray which means he is still alive and they are going to fix him and everything is going to be okay forever.
What is not going to happen is Optimus is not going to lose his two best friends again, right after he sort-of-reconciled with the one and the other came back from the dead.
It's entirely possible someone is saying something about a console. Optimus is vaguely aware of that as he runs after Elita-1.

Optimus doesn't have far to run, because Impactor's harpoon catches her through the arm and yanks her back down. The problem is that since Optimus was running toward her, that means she's getting yanked right toward him.
She twists in the air, hands literally turned to claws as she tries to come down on him. She's grinning wickedly, teeth bared. There's nothing left of the Elita Optimus Primes knows in this feral creature's countenance. Nothing is left but the blinding, eager urge to kill.
Elita at normal stats wouldn't be able to physically do much harm to Optimus. However, she shouldn't have been able to punch through Sentinel's armor, either. Something to keep in mind.
Just before she might connect with Optimus, her optic color shifts from blue to red.
OOC: Scenemod says she'll stay out of rotation for awhile, unless we need something with the console.

OOC: Posting out of order with permission.
Optimus doesn't care if it seems there's nothing left of the Elita-1 he knows and . . . cares about. Obviously there has to still be some spark of Autobot-ity(?) left in her. Which is why instead of dodging out of the way of her lunge, or taking a swing at her, he raises his axe like a batter preparing to bunt, trying to block her with the handle as he extends the weapon into it's two-handed configuration.
"Elita-1! It's me! Optimus!"

"Get out of the way, you idiot!" Impactor yells at Optimus, yanking violently to the right on the line attached to the harpoon in Elita's shoulder, attempting to throw off her attack on the Prime.
"New orders! We're withdrawing!"

Impactor's quick yank does pull Elita out of line. That movement combined with Optimus's block brings her down to the floor, where she digs her claws into the metal until the harpoon is forcibly ripped from her arm.
She shows not indication that even understands Optimus's words, let alone has any Autobot-ity (wonderful word!) left in her. Once free of the tether, she leaps again at Optimus. This time, she stays lower to present a smaller profile and tries to dart under the blocking axe handle.
Elita is much faster and much tougher right now than her norm. The number of torn and fallen Lithone bodies scattered around Sentinel's fallen body probably has something to do with that.

"Withdrawing? But how are we supposed to-" Optimus doesn't finish the sentence. How are they supposed to bring Elita-1 with them when she's acting rabid?
Elita-1 who is currently ducking under Optimus's guard, trying to do horrible things to him. He tries to strike her with the butt of his axe handle to fend her off. The blow isn't as forceful as it could be.

"You idiot! Damn it, quit trying to fight him toe to toe!" Impactor yells, snatching the pistol from his boot to fire at Elita. He reads the database - he knows about her absorbing power. He also probably knows she's female, but apparently he's chosen to ignore this. The use of a pistol instead of his shoulder cannon is about as much kindness as he's willing to spare in the issue. That pistol is low enough power that he has a better chance of disabling without killing.
He's about to move closer, anyway, to tray to snatch Optimus out of the way when a sudden artificial gravity shift from the failing systems slams him against the control console. He pushes himself away from it, pistol-holding hand hitting a few buttons as he does...
A message plays over the ship's intercom system.
Thank you for pressing the self-destruct button. This ship will self destruct in exactly two minutes and forty-five seconds.
"... Aw, scrap," Impactor groans.
