OOC: Month 5, Week 2, Day 6. Event Horizon Hard Light Sim Room. Open.
The debris crunches beneath Rodimus Prime's tires as he roars down the wrecked Cybertronian road amongst the ruins in one of the more run-down sections of the planet. The Cybertron, and the Decepticon jets firing at him, resemble those from his own reality, largely because he created the simulation and, like many of the Autobots, he tends to be a bit home-universe-centric. He jerks back and forth, avoiding what blasts he can and letting his thick armor handle the rest as he once more mentally curses the lack of a weapon in his alternate mode.
Why did the Matrix not see fit to leave him even one frigging gun as a vehicle? Hot Rod had a gun as a car!
"We got a little off track, but we should be able to cut through a building and get back on path," he states. "How you holding up, Arcee?"

Arcee zigzags back and forth to avoid laser fire from her pursuers. Unlike Rodimus, she can't take too many hits and just keep going. She's falling a bit behind Rodimus because of it, which just won't do. Putting on a bit of speed, she uses a fallen bit of wall as a ramp, sailing through the air and landing hard next to the Prime.
"I'm holding up just fine, Roddy, but this wasn't exactly how I planned to spend my night! That was bad intel; there were at least twice as many guards on that supply train as we expected!"
Arcee's tone is teasing, even though the words seem critical. It's a sim, but what's the fun in making it predictable? She should have expected that Rodimus would figure in some random variables to make it more challenging.

Rodimus laughs, a delighted, boyish noise. "You should have known when you decided to spend the evening with me that I'd show you an exciting time!" he chides jokingly.
"Here's our turn!" he says, suddenly screeching left before pulling ahead and then rolling, full force, through a weakened section of wall. Inside the building and under partial cover of the roof, he stays a bit ahead from Arcee in order to clear the path. Hot Rod has never been shy about driving through things when it suited him (road blocks being put up by Kup, Insecticons...), but the number of things that Rodimus Prime can drive right through is considerably greater.

"Roddy, you always show me an exciting time!" she calls back as the Prime turns himself into a battering ram.
She falls in line behind Rodimus. Arcee really can't argue with letting him lead here at least. At least the view is nice. Not as nice as the view when she was behind Hot Rod, because Rodimus is definitely less svelte as a Space Winnebago than as a sports car. But it's still a nice view.
"Watch it!" she warns as a section of the wall alongside starts to crumble. The sound of laser fire quickly explains what's causing the collapse.

"I see it!" Rodimus shouts, slowing down and moving towards the wall before transforming and crouching, throwing his arms out wide. As the wall comes crashing down against his back, burying him, he attempts to protect Arcee. Perhaps she manages to avoid it, but more likely, she'll end up stuck with him beneath a load of wall, although in her case without the wall actually pinning her down.
Luckily, as strong as Rodimus is, getting back out shouldn't be a problem.

With Rodimus playing shield, Arcee does almost make it. A roof support blocks her path at a perfectly plot-appropriate time, and she transforms just in time to allow her smaller form to be more adequately protected by Rodimus's larger one.
At least they are stuck front to front, which is only slightly less awkward than back to front.
//Well. I'll admit I've been wanting to get closer to you, but this isn't exactly what I had in mind.//

//We'll just have to take the opportunities as they present themselves!// Rodimus answers over the radio, though his voice is a bid strained from the effort of keeping the wall from crushing them.
He shifts slightly, testing the rocks. Finally, he turns back on the radio. // All right. Got it. I should be able to get us out of here at any moment, but...//
//We might get the most out of it if we wait until the Decepticons close on us to investigate. Take advantage of a chance to surprise them.//
Rodimus smirks down at Arcee. //So... get comfy!//

Arcee smirks back up at Rodimus. Her hands, originally grasping for purchase as the two mechs were buried, now rest easily, familiarly on Rodimus's torso. Idly, she traces a seam in his armor.
//I'm perfectly comfy,// she replies slyly, //and I'm all for making the most of it.//
Some silt, rust or mortar or some such trickles over Rodimus's shoulder and down onto Arcee. Her expression turns to one of concern.
//You sure you're all right?//

Rodimus, as occupied as he is with keeping the two from being crushed, doesn't really have any free hands to respond to Arcee suddenly getting tochy-feely. // Hey, no fair! // he protests. // Now that's just underhanded! //
He glances at the thin trickle of dust from over his shoulder. He doesn't shrug, because he's not in a position to shrug, but he does confirm, //Yeah, I'm fine. The only tricky part is keeping things from shifting, but I could stay here all day if I had to.//

//Yeah, well, just because you can doesn't mean you're all right,// Arcee says, frowning again. Suddenly she sighs over the radio, her expression matching the sound. //Of course, you're a Big Bad Prime now. You don't need me to worry over you.//
The laser fire has ceased, but there are definitely sounds of someone coming closer. They probably won't be close enough to dramatically explode upon for at least another round, though.
//And you really aren't complaining about my flirting with you, are you?// she asks, smirking slightly. Her fingers still on his plating as she cocks her head, listening to those approaching steps.

// That's not- I didn't- // Rodimus sputters in protest. Is it over the Big Bad Prime comment, or her asking if he's complaining about the flirting? Well, a little bit of both, really. Finally, he goes the bravado route. // I never needed anyone worrying over me! //
Oh, yeah, that'll help. Good answer, Rodimus.
// And I wasn't complaining about the flirting, just that it's a low blow to be doing this when I can't touch you back.// The words come out without much thought behind them, focused, as he is, on what can be heard outside, and they're liable just to cause trouble.

//Hah!// Arcee laughs, //Then you're telling me you weren't reckless, didn't tend to run off half-cocked, and didn't sometimes need someone to pull your aft out of the fire?// Of course, that could still describe Rodimus, couldn't it?
Her hands slip off Rodimus and move to brace herself a bit against the rubble. One hand is holding a pistol. Her body tenses as the sounds move closer. She's ready to spring up whenever Rodimus busts through.
//Not like you've never taken a little advantage when opportunity presented, anyway,// she says, still smirking. Though she might be referring to her Hot Rod, and not Rodimus with that comment.

//I haven't gotten into a mess I haven't been able to get out of yet!// Rodimus protests. //Although I... guess a bit of help now and then is part of that,// and he winks. //But that still doesn't mean I want you worrying!//
He hmphs over the radio as Arcee points out that he's been known to take a little advantage. // You're supposed to do as I say, not as I do now, you know,// he observes as he prepares to burst out of there. He falls completely silent for just a moment, waiting for the footsteps to get just a bit louder... and then it's time to move! He straightens, throwing the debris and rubble off his back and towards some very surprised Decepticon Hunter Seekers before turning and firing several blasts at them from the pipes on his arm.

//Rodimus Prime, you did not just say you expect me to do what you say without argument, did you?// Arcee asks in mock outrage.
When Rodimus tosses his rocks off at the approaching Seekers, they are surprised in the way that stock comic villains always are. Really, what's the point of being a walking cliche if you aren't going to fall for the cliche? The Prime's shots take down one easily enough, and Arcee, shooting from around Rodimus's body, neatly ventilates the other.
//Let's roll, before the noise pulls more of them here!// she says, scrambling over the rocks and dropping down into her car mode.

// I would hope there are some times when you would! // Rodimus answers, exasperated. He is, after all, the Big Bad Prime now. That means occasionally people are supposed to do what he says without argument!
Rodimus transforms into vehicle mode while the Seekers are still falling and surges ahead, engine roaring. This, of course, makes them more traceable, but they're getting to the point where they want that. He reaches another street and makes a hard right.
//Back on track. Tunnel should be ahead. Slow down a little, to get as many of them following us as possible.//
