Month 2, Week 1, Day 3. Event Horizon Biosphere. Open.
Seaspinner is in awe of the biosphere, her mouth gaping wide in the way only a shark's can. In her beast mode, she strolls along one of the many paths that wind their way through the forest, her spider-feet remarkably silent as they pick their way over the gravel.
It's so very different from the rest of the ship, with all its angles and ordered metal. Everything here is all shapely and chaotic! So strange, and yet somehow familiar, though she knows it's not like Earth, and she was never conscious while on Earth, anyway. And yet the sights, the sounds, the scents! They all stir something inside her and make her feel oddly at home.
A flicker of motion in a tree draws her attention, and she tilts her head to stare at it with one round, black eye. It's a little songbird, piping a cheerful song!
"Oh, aren't you just darling!" Seaspinner says and transforms so that she stands on her back four spider legs. She's found that she actually can transform further and produce a pair of legs like most Transformers, but she's rather fond of her spider legs. Pursing her lips, she attempts to mimic the bird's call.

Seaspinner is not the only one who feels at home in the biosphere. Swoop has quickly taken to spending as much time here as he can, since unlike the rest of the ship, this room cleverly disguises the fact that it is a big box.
Despite the disguise, though, the ceiling isn't high enough for proper soaring, so the pterodactyl has to content himself with skimming over the treetops, flapping to stay aloft. He notices Seaspinner through a gap in the trees and alights on a branch to watch her, cocking his head to one side when she sings back at the bird.

The bird startles as Swoop lands, flitting off to deeper parts of the forest. Seaspinner pouts slightly in disappointment, but quickly replaces it with a smile that's a tad too wide and toothy to be the sweet grin she intends it to be. Turning, she looks up at Swoop where he perches over her. "A bit large to be part of the natural wildlife, aren't you? I don't suppose you're a Maximal, hm?" she muses, then touches a knuckle to her lips in thought, considering the database entries she's been reading since her arrival. Then a metaphorical lightbulb goes off and she claps her hands together. "Oh! Are you a Dinobot, like those Grimlock and S- sss- ahem. Well, like those two fellows in the database entry?" Why someone would ever name someone after a swear word is beyond her! How uncouth.

Swoop watches the bird fly away, then turns his attention back to Seaspinner, shuffling his feet along the branch and adjusting his wings. "Yes. Me Swoop Dinobot like him Grimlock and him Snarl." The Snarl in question being analogous to the guy with the swear-word name, not the other guy named Snarl. "But them Dinobots not here. Him Grimlock and her Bambi here instead," he finishes. Please don't make Swoop talk about this topic, Spidershark-lady. He isn't good at talking and this topic makes his head hurt.
"What database entry?"

Oh dear, all these Dinobots seem to have a bit of a grammar problem, don't they? Well, it's not polite to comment on, though she does feel stirrings to sit Swoop down and try to correct his sentence structure.
Quashing those inappropriate urges, Seaspinner nods understandingly. She doesn't actually remember anyone for her own universe - or remember her native universe at all - but she has come to understand that it's all terribly confusing for others who keep meeting people they know who aren't actually people they know.
"Oh, the database entry by Grimlock and, uh, his friend. Kup made a note too!" Clasping her hands in front of her, she asks, "Would you like to come down here? Or I suppose I could go up there, if you prefer. Looking up all the time is a bit of a strain on the struts."

Swoop's ignorance is as vast and majestic as the sea, Seaspinner. Attempt to educate him at your own risk.
The mechanical pterodactyl cocks his head to one side as the odd-looking fuzor asks if he'd like to come down. Is this a dominance thing? He's not sure. If it is, she clearly ought to have to climb the tree rather than him coming down. "Me Swoop stay up here."
He, Swoop, has not actually accessed the database yet. "You know him Meltdown?"

"Well, I'll just have to join you then!" Seaspinner says with a broad smile. Approaching the tree, she proceeds to scale it, a simple task between her clawed hands and spider feet! Reaching Swoop's chosen branch, she lets her robot legs unfold from her beast mode abdomen and settles carefully next to him, bracing one hand on the trunk.
"Meltdown?" she repeats curiously. "No, I'm sorry. I can't say I've heard of any Meltdown. It's not someone on the ship, is it? I do feel dreadful when I don't know the names of my own shipmates!"

Swoop watches Seaspinner climb the tree with interest. He's watched spiders, and he's gotten a bird's eye view of some of the larger fish in Lake Erie, but he's never seen anything quite like her. He shuffles out further onto the branch, spreading his wings for balance, to make room for the fuzor.
"I hope him Meltdown not here!" the pterodactyl says, fanning his wings in consternation hard enough to blow the leaves off some trees. He also rubs his beak against a place on his leg where an acid burn has long-since healed. "Him Meltdown bad guy. Him hurt Dinobots, make Dinobots do stuff for him. Him make little squishy people look like you look." The Dinobot pauses. "Not how you look now. How you look before. Um, him Meltdown not robot. Him tiny, but really strong."

Seaspinner raises a hand to keep any leaves out of her face when Swoop flaps, but gives him a sympathetic look when she lowers it.
"Little people that look like fuzors? How terribly bizarre!" Reaching out, she attempts to pat Swoop comfortingly on one foot. "But you poor dear, this Meltdown sounds like an absolutely dreadful man! Hurting people to make them do your bidding, why I never!"
Ooh, the idea of it just makes her so mad! Mad enough for her to make a fist and shake it a little.

Swoop looks bemused as Seaspinner shakes her impotent, polite, little fist. "Him Meltdown bad guy. One of them little squishy people look more like you than other one. Him have same head, sort of," he says, reaching out with one of the little hands on his wings to touch the piece of shark face on the Maximal's shoulder.

"Hm? What's that?" Seaspinner says, looking over at the shoulder pad Swoop is poking at with his little wing hands - they're so cute, because they're tiny compared to the rest of him! "A shark head? Really?" Perhaps she's not quite as odd as people have made her out to be!
Suddenly a thought occurs to her. "Oh! Have you been to Earth, then? What's it like? Is it much like this?" She waves a hand at the forest surrounding them, swinging her legs slightly.

There is no part of Swoop that is cute. He is handsome. Clipper can be cute if she wants to be. Swoop will have none of that, thank you.
The pterodactyl nods an affirmative. Yes, a shark head, really. Among various other horrific mixed and matched bits.
"Us Dinobots from Earth," he states simply, considering her question for a while. "It much bigger, and not in box. There less robots, and more tiny screaming people."

Sorry, Swoop. Seaspinner with never think of your little claws as anything other than adorable. If it's any consolation, she does think he has a very handsome crest.
"Tiny screaming people? Well, that doesn't sound very nice at all." Perhaps she should change the topic to something more pleasant. "Well, Swoop, how are you liking your stay aboard the Event Horizon?"

"Us Dinobots not see them much, except at first. They not bother us." Swoop adjusts his perch, shuffling back and forth on the tree limb as he considers Seaspinner's latest inquiry.
"It okay. There lots of robots here. Everyone want to talk to me, Swoop." No-one ever wanted to talk to him, Swoop, back home. "Me Swoop wish me could go outside, but me can't. This box," he gestures expansively with a wing, indicating the Biosphere, "like being outside." There's a pause. "Also, me Swoop never have to look for food. It always in same place."
He would tell Seaspinner that he misses Grimlock and Snarl, even though he now has Other Grimlock and Bambi to hang out with, but that is Personal.

"I'm glad to hear you're settling in fairly well, then," Seaspinner says with a smile. "I'm sure we'll stop by another planet at some point, too, and then you'll be able to go outside! I've never been to a planet, you know. Well, I mean, I was on one for awhile, but I wasn't... awake for it."
She knows about planets, sure enough, given that she was intended to be part of an exploration team, but that's really not the same as seeing one with your own eight eyes. She lets out a small sigh of longing. She supposes she could indulge in a simulation of a planet, but that's just not the same thing.
