He shrugs. "Getting beheaded is not exactly a death sentence for our kind, at least not in my reality. So long as the consciousness remains intact, one can almost always be repaired." A good thing for Shockwave, and the thoughts prompt him to rub his own neck, remembering. That slip up has stayed with him, and Shockwave well knows how lucky he is that Skystalker needed his creator as a figurehead. Literally. At least Hellbender can not see that momentary lapse in composure. Shockwave works silently and quickly for the next little while. By the time he has finished, Hellbender will have access to quite a few subspace pockets, places to shunt non-essential parts of his bulk when in robot mode. Or at least the worm will have that access once Shockwave and Hook are done with him. Exiting the worm's body once more, Shockwave puts away his tools, "I have other business to attend to for the next while, and need to finish up some other components for your rebuild. And I am sure Hook has his own work to add." Shockwave strokes Hellbender's head, "Do not worry. He and I have our differences, but you will not suffer because of them. And if you do...you will tell me of it when I return." Order, not request, that. Shockwave will do grievous harm to his own if needs must, but he does not tolerate others abusing his pets. OOC: Shockwave will catch any reply Hellbender cares to make and then will be out of thread for the time being. He's tagging out to Hook.

"Well, that's as may be," Hellbender replied slowly. "Where Ah came from, tends to be terminal--head shot gets the brain component, or gettin' decapitated de-powers it for too long. Though Straxus kinda survived gettin' everything but his head destroyed--Ah hear they had to hook him up to fixed life support, and Megatron came through and finished him off anyway, so didn't help him much."
He falls silent as Shockwave works, and acknowledges his master when Shockwave again speaks. "Yes, sir, and thank you. Hook seems to know what he's doing, suh. He's very particular about getting everything just right."

Hook returns after some time, rather irritated at having gotten a blaster shoved into his chest. A thick-woven wire basket hangs off his crane-boom, filled with trays of the carefully designed parts he's been running off the synthesizer for the past few days. A rebuild job of this size required a lot more supplies than he habitually kept in his toolbox.
The crane-boom extends and sets the basket down on a work bench, and Hook transforms back to robot-mode. There are other parts on the bench, parts that are delicate, artistic, and yet with an obvious mind towards reproducability - certain Needlenose hallmarks.
He picks one up to admire and examine, barely touching his fingers to it. "Needlenose came by?"

Hellbender, who has more parts installed than he did when Hook left, replies, "No, suh. Lord Shockwave was here working on me. He left those parts there, Ah think for your use, sir."
He falls silent for a moment, then says, "Sir, what color is Lord Shockwave? Ah been assumin' he's purple like my Shockwave, but that there might be a bad guess, seein' as he's from a different reality than me."

Is that a red haze settling over Hook's vision? No, his visor-light is always red.
"Was he now." Not a question. The Needlenose-made part gets set on the counter, then Hook alights on the edge of Hellbender's peeled back armor. It seems a precarious balance point, but the mining worm can feel the lifters that make the idea of 'balance' entirely moot.
Hands on his hips, the Constructicon surveyed the damage wrought by the second-in-command of the Decepticons. "That addle-pated, crack-opticked- yes, he's purple!- imbecile! He does understand that someone is going to have to repair you and do maintenance, doesn't he? Or are such things beyond his very limited comprehension!"
Metaphorically gnashing his teeth, Hook steps off the edge of Hellbender's armor and dives into rearranging what Shockwave has put in place so that it fits the Constructicon's view of 'the right way of doing things, wot'.

Hellbender... rumbles; there' s a deep undertone of anger in it, and in his voice: "With all due respect for your rank and station, sir, Ah must request that you do not refer to Lord Shockwave in such disrespectful terms. Sir!"

"My Lord Shockwave is not damaged in the CPU, nor is he underclocked, nor is he uneducated in the technical arts," Hellbender says precisely and quite indignantly, his accent only adding a certain dignified emphasis to his points.
"He is in fact a very skilled designer, having built myself and others. Lord Hook, you are well aware of these facts, therefore Ah can only conclude that you mean to insult and disparage Lord Shockwave in mah hearing as an act of deliberate disrepect, possibly to influence me. Ah cannot acquiesce, which silence would indicate, to such callous disrepect of mah superior and creator," Hellbender finally concludes his rather formal complaint.

"The actual sane assumption, of course, is that your opinion doesn't matter at all to me." Hook walks the length of Hellbender, pausing now and then to adjust sensors. Hellbender may notice that as the Constructicon proceeds, less and less of his body is giving him sensor reports.

"Yes, suh. Ah have registered my protest, sir." Hellbender falls silent after that... externally.
Ah have given you fair warning, Lord Hook. It is up to you to care or not. Ah will not ignore such disrepect in the future. He was willing to give Hook this warning and disregard what had been a heated outburst--a low opinion of Lord Shockwave's work was hardly treasonous... unless it became a pattern of publically undermining confidence in the most powerful of Decepticons.
Things must be moving along, if Hook is turning down his sensors. Hellbender feels a slight sense of relief at that. "Ah sense you've moved to the next phase of your work, sir."

"Do you?" Hook sounds amused. He's not just turning down sensors - he's turn them off. All of them, so that Hellbender can't even feel the ground under his belly.

"Well, Ah figure you're turning off my sensors to work on that there system, right?" Hellbender asks, curious.
"Will Ah be gettin' mah old face back?"

"That's an interesting theory." Hook busies himself with turning off the last of Hellbender's sensors in the so-called tactile array. The mining worm should feel absolutely no sensations throughout his body. Then he turns to disabling the mining worm's radio. "Incorrect, but it's interesting."

Hellbender was slightly miffed that Hook ignored his question--an emotion that changed to mild alarm when Hook turned off his radio.
He's cutting me off from Shockwave! Momentary panic, then resolve: he would not show distrust now! Hook would not dare to truly harm him, and would not logically want to just for Hellbender's formal protest.
"Well, since Ah don't know then, what are you workin' on, sir?"

Finding Hellbender's chronometer to disable it requires some digging through the electronics. "I was being polite by allowing you to remain sensate for this. It's not necessary for me to do so and do my work."
Once he cuts off Hellbender's ability to keep time, Hook turns his attention to disabling the myriad lesser senses in the great worm. Each flipped switch and crossed wire takes away a little more of the world.
The sense of hearing, he'll leave for last.
