Hey there! Do you have AIM or another chat client that can work with AIM? A lot of evenings/nights a bunch of us tend to hang around in an AIM chat titled 'dzchat'. It's an entirely OOC chat that we just use to talk about things, sometimes RP-related.

We just use AIM rather than messing with any browser-based chats (I tend to neglect them and miss when things are said in those, anyway).

Been a loooong time since I used "real" AIM, but there's a trick where you can invite yourself to a chat room - and the room you're wanting is indeed called "dzchat".

You have to have yourself on your buddy list in order to invite yourself into a chat room.

umm I was wondering, I've got Rev as another of Velocitron and she's gone PooF to DZ at a point after Override has gone PooF, does Rev know/remember Override dissapearing from the Cybertron universe or is there still a Override there when Rev went PooF? (Ie. is there still a version of Rev in the Cybertron universe - a clone/duplicate/xerox? Is the DZ Rev real or a copy?)
...I is confused...

Characters do not remember other characters from their home realities being missing. For example, IDW Guzzle does not remember IDW Springer being missing.
Are the characters clones or copies? They don't ICly know. There are a few options. It's possible that everyone, at some point in DZ's future, goes back 'home' at exactly the same point as they were taken with no memory of what happened in DZ. It is possible everyone came from slightly different reality streams. And so on.
So no one knows if there's still a version of them left 'home'. No one has been able to check.

is there a realistic minimum size for the recipient of the Decepticon robot mode flight upgrade? why have the Autobots never managed to steal the data for it? and can characters from continuities who dont normally have subspace learn to access subspace? If BW Megs changes into a t-rex, how come he is still tiny compared to the 'bots on the Ark (and all this implies)? Mostly just musing, work is boring and the mind wanders.

Ive always considered that the BW era TFs didnt do much in the way of Mass-Shifting (Ravage aside, he is a throwback!) so thier alt-modes were comparative in size to thier robot modes. This accounts for the giant Waspinator and Scorponok guys. Just my own work-bored, mind wanderings

All right, going off of memory here. I ask one of the other admin to correct me if I get something wrong. One has to be very careful about the application of the word 'realistic' in a game about giant alien transforming robots, but at this point in time, we haven't set any minimum. If a Decepticon player lists in their app that they cannot get robot mode flight for some particular reason or another as a physical weakness, we accept that, and will hold them to it, but would kind of handwave and gloss over if some similar character wanted to get it, since that other character didn't ask for it as a weakness and shouldn't be penalized. Mind you, it's possible to 'buy off' a weakness by using up an upgrade slot, but this basically amounts to paying for the robot-mode flight upgrade that other Decepticons get as a freebie. The OOC explanation for this is, 'Because the admin and several of the players like this aspect of Transformers "flavor."' The IC explanation is because, over the millions of years, both sides have evolved their technology just differently enough that it's more difficult to incorporate the robot-mode flight into an Autobot system than a Decepticon. Say perhaps that due to compatability issues, the system is less efficient, energy-wise, and we all know that energy consumption is, thematically, a big issue for Transformers. Or maybe those same compatability quirks make it less reliable. Basically, the differances in technology are just enough that it is not as easy to add robot mode flight to an already existant Autobot system than a Decepticon one. That said, it's not impossible. There are Autobots with anti-grav based robot mode flight. Just look at the G1 'Toon Dinobots! What this amounts to is that it's not impossible for an Autobot to get it, but as with the Decepticons who include it as a weakness, it is not a free upgrade. However, with Autobots, especially, I would encourage the player to consider whether it's even thematically appropriate for the character. As mentioned before, the 'Autobots don't usually fly' thing happens to be a 'flavor aspect' that some of us are fond of, so when using up your non-free upgrade slots, we'd suggest you think hard on how fitting the upgrade is for the character. Also keep in mind that ICly, for some continuities, this is a pretty deeply ingrained cultural thing, too. Sure, maybe you can adapt an anti-grav system to Kup, but suggesting it to him is just likely to piss him off. This is also a cultural aspect that Counterpunch takes advantage of - he has robot mode flight in his Decepticon mode, only, and simply using it from time to time is enough to reinforce the idea, 'Car with robot mode flight? Yeah, definitely a 'Con, not a 'Bot' in the minds of many Transformers! Look, subspace! We tend to assume that BW-era characters have some limited subspace access, but it is much more limited to than the G1-era guys, so you get Maximals occasionally pulling out huge old weapons out of nowhere, but you don't get the size-changing, as Bulkhead mentions. It's pretty easy to imagine that accessing an extra-dimensional storage space is a huge energy drain, and considering energy efficiency is the whole canon reason that the BW characters are smaller, it makes sense that they'd make less use of something like this. Meanwhile, Beast Machines, with their semi-organic nature, lose access to subspace entirely. This is generally included as a physical weakness on the application (as is the fact that semi-organic characters are a royal pain to upgrade). As far as I can remember, for game purposes, we never at any point declare that Bayverse Transformers don't have subspace (again, we largely use subspace as a way to compensate for the fact that robots don't have pockets), although we know it's not really canon and it's pretty obvious that they make much less use of it than, say, the G1 types. We just ask that people keep our subspace rules in mind - about a 'robo-backpack' worth of stuff. There are characters with a greater amount of subspace storage (excluding body part storage, like Rodimus's trailer), such as Long Haul (Swindle's storage uses different tech, though it's a similar idea), but these characters have to apply for it as a special ability. I think that's already covered. Anyway, hope that helps!
