Was thinking of doing a few urban exploration threads with Phobia but the G1 folks don't have hologram riders. One option was going through the creepy riderless-bike routine but that'd be awkward in more densely populated areas. Other option was blowup doll. >.>
I was thinking maybe this could one of the cross-universe shared techs? Like the voluntary upgrades for the lifters? It would be pretty practical for the non-hologram-verse intel mechs at least-

After thinking it over, we've come to the conclusion that this is the sort of thing that it makes sense to make widely available (Marvel, incidentally, actually made use of blowup dolls, so the idea of commonly available fake-riders has been in canon for a long time, even if it hasn't always been hologram form).
If a character from a non-holo-driver reality wants to get a holographic driver as a free upgrade, they may (although, as with the antigravs, we actually want people to send us a quick app - answer all the questions, but the answers can be the obvious ones, like, "So he can pass as a real car more easily"). However, the device installed in the free upgrade only creates a driver. The driver has no physical form and cannot leave the vehicle, and the driver's appearance is set at the time the character gets the upgrade; the character will have to go to the medics in order to have it reset to something else. Anything more flexible requires an upgrade slot.
