Rodney, also answering in a soft, conversational tone, replies, "And you know that the issue isn't that I don't like it." He sounds a little tired at the statement, perhaps because of the number of times he's gone over it before... or perhaps because he realizes that as soon as the Decepticons realize who they both are, Mirage will most certainly become a target.
His lips twist into a frown, pulling a bit more on the right corner as he works out how to explain what happened. "I'm not... not really sure. We were looking into the abandoned lab that Shockwave had supposedly gone off to, and in the center was some sort of strange energy well." He shakes his head. "More than an energy well. A... a life well. Like, the planet's life." He waves a hand absently, towards himself and towards Addison. "I almost think this was some sort of... self-defense measure."

Addison says, "I know you like it because you like me. That isn't what I meant."
"But... we can argue about our personal lives later."
He listens to Rodney's explanations, and is soon enough frowning right along with the Prime. This will likely puzzle the paparazzi, and lead to all sorts of speculations about what the two are discussing.
"But Rodney, I wasn't just turned into a human. I have a complete memory of being human. A complete life, profession, funds. Even family members! I-"
Addison runs his fingers through his hair. "I have a sister. Adopted."
"I think she is Bambi."

Rodney snuggles against Addison. He hasn't done anything to prevent the other man's snuggling, and now seems to be an active participant. Still, it almost seems an unconscious act.
He nods at the other's explanations, mouth drawn and serious. "Yeah, Kate's the same way." Then he realizes he probably needs to explain who 'Kate' is. "Erm. Kup. It got Kup, too. And he's a she. Kate Mason." He frowns at the last bit. "Think. You don't know?"

Addison is never going to turn down snuggles. He won't press Rodney, because of the aforementioned boundaries. But is isn't going to stop them. Besides, snuggles help with their cover at the moment, as does Addison slipping an arm around the FX expert.
He raises an eyebrow. "Kup is... female. Well. I imagine that is one experience for which he didn't have a story on autoplay."
"And no," the playboy continues, "I don't know. She's a meta, a were-dinosaur. A bambiraptor to be specific. She has given no indication that she has memories other than as a human. Some of the things she says though...."
Addison grins, "She said she'd smash anyone who hurt me."

Rodney opens his eyes up wide, not out of surprise, but due to distressing memory. "You know what the worst part is? She did! And she had a story for Autobots getting turned human, but not the same story. It apparently happened to her native-reality me. But that first story..." he breaths out, shaking his head. "And I can't even just delete that memory in this body!"
He listens to Addison's explanation of maybe-Bambi and purses his lips, tilting his head. "Well, you know, I seem able to pick out Cybertr- well, Transformer life-force from human. It's not reliable, so if she doesn't 'feel' Transformer to me, that doesn't rule out the possibility, but if she does, that should clear things up."

Addison adopts a pained expression. Female Kup is not something he wants to ponder. Female human Kup is.... workable in his brain. Female robot Kup for some reason is not. Mainly because Mirage knew a younger Kup, and that younger Kup could be a bit less... straight-laced and... well....
He needs to stop thinking. Right now.
Oh look, there is a waitress. She is doing her best not to grin and giggle at the very handsome pair at her table. Addison places an order for a beer, a burger, and fries, which the waitress will take along with any order that Rodney might have.
Smirking over at Rodney, Addison asks, "Well, if you don't mind a few more outings like this, we can pass you off as one of my current lovers. I make a habit of not bringing them home, but I have let Lynn meet a few of my more... serious companions." he purses his lips, "According to my memories though, she never likes them, and they tend to stop being serious companions after that. Hmm."

And just think: Addison isn't even the one who had to hear the story!
Rodney gives the waitress a bright smile as he orders a cheeseburger and fries of his own, plus a soda. Apparently he forgoes the beer. Once she's gone, he turns towards Addison and considers. He seems a bit uncertain about the other's plan. "Well, I guess... I mean, those rumors are already going to get started now, anyway..." he seems to be persuading himself more than anything else. Then he shrugs. "And if she's Bambi, she already doesn't like me, anyway, so I'm ready for that."

"Rodney, if being in the spotlight bothers you, we can drop... this after tonight. As many partners as I apparently tend to go through, you'd be old news in but a few days. Especially if I made a point of finding another and parading him or her about."
Addison says all this very casually, but Rodney is close enough to him to notice the slight tensing of the model's body. Something about what Addison said bothers him.
"But- it would be the less suspicious way. Lynn doesn't interact well with people, and I keep her out of the public eye as much as possible. I'd rather not ask her to accompany me to the set and expose her to the those mongrel tabloid writers. The last time, one of them decided to start the rumor that she was my daughter, of all things!"
It might be odd how passionately Addison speaks about such things, when he knows the memories are false. So interwoven are the memories that separating them is very difficult.

Certainly, Rodney looks surprised by the feelings Addison puts into it when describing his "other life." Surprised... and a bit worried.
Is he going to face resistance when trying to get the Autobots to leave their new lives behind?
"If it's less suspicious, we'll go with that. With as much scrutiny as you're under, it's probably not a bad idea for us to maintain an excuse to stay in regular contact."

Mirage has always been one to love passionately, be it familial or sexual love. The emotions Addison feels for Lynn are exceptionally strong, and when layered on top of the fondness he feels for Bambi, well. It is so hard to separate fact and fiction.
Addison rubs his hand across his brow and shakes his head. Not a negation to Rodney's comment, but in an attempt to re-sort things in his mind.
"It would be simpler yes, especially since we work together now." Addison doesn't comment on how that will just make the tabloid talk even more juicy.
"Have you found anyone else?"

"A few," Rodney answers. He continues, even as the waitress returns with his food, though he's careful about his wording. "Some didn't change, and I got in contact with them; have a number for them, too. They've also been giving out my number to call, and Kate's in a pretty good position to track people down."
He looks up at the waitress and gives her a dazzling as she sets down their plates. "Thanks."
As she leaves, he asks, "Anyone in particular you need?" Of course, once the waitress is away from the table, he can also mention who didn't change.

"I saw the number. It isn't exactly a good way for me to get in touch," Addison says, adding his own smile of thanks for the waitress to Rodney's, "Admittedly, I only became sure of myself a handful of days ago."
Shaking his head, he replies, "I don't need anyone no. I just would like to know that... certain people are all right. Skyblast, Perceptor...." Basically the people Mirage cares about.
"Staying in contact with any of them would be difficult, given my position in the limelight."

"Actually, Skyblast is one of the ones who works on-set, but he's... trying to avoid drawing notice," Rodney answers.
If he happens to know what became of Perceptor by this point, he'll share that, as well, but we're going to gloss over that.
He dips his head as Addison reminds him of the difficultly of maintaining contact. "Well, I guess that's another argument in favor of me playing your... latest." He starts on his burger. It's obvious that he either has no problem with animals being killed for their meat, or views it as, 'regrettable, but unavoidable.' Or he hasn't thought about it. Or he realizes that plants are living things, too, and damn it, he has to eat something.

Addison tucks into his own meal as well. His expression on first bites say that he finds it... palatable. That's about it. He puts his burger down though, and looks surprised when Rodimus mentions that Skyblast also works on the set.
"He does? Who is-?" Addison's face falls, "I... never mind. It is better if I don't know." Because if Skyblast is keeping a low profile, the worst thing would be for him to suddenly get glomped by one of the movies "names."
After taking a sip of his beer, he asks, "So what's the plan going forward? And ah, you should know- I do not still posses my special ability."

"You sure, Addison?" Rodney asks warily. "I mean, I think it might be for the best if we know who each other are, just so we know if something happens to one of us. You can just pretend not to know him. You are an actor, right?" And with this last phrase, he smirks faintly.
"Current plan is just to gather up who we can - try to contact everyone. Once we have time, we can probably attempt going back to the well and seeing if there isn't a way to undo it, but..." he shakes his head, frowning. "I don't think it's going to be that simple, and the 'Bots who are still... 'Bots are pretty limited. Even if all of them remain on the Event Horizon all the time, that thing is still woefully undermanned, and we can't just keep them there."
