"Just please don't tell me you have any kids," Rodney groans, covering his eyes. It's not that he has any trouble picturing Kate as a parental figure - far from it! No, the problem is that for Kate to have children, she would have had to have had S-E-X at some point, and that's just...
No.
Then Kate says his name, and he lowers his hand and blinks. "Huh? Why so formal?"

"I've got one sitting right there," Kate snorts and reaches over to try to poke Rodney, neither confirming nor denying if she has any others, perhaps ominously.
Then she points at the screen and observes, "You're in the credits. I always told you to pay better attention, you goof-bot."

Rodney actually grins as he's prodded, but any 'warm and fuzzy moment' is interrupted when Kate points at the screen. He blinks in confusion. "Huh? I am?"
He grabs the remote. "You can rewind this, right?" He's actually watching cable, but thanks to Vivo (descendant of Tivo), the answer turns out to be "yes." He rewinds a bit, plays it forward, then pauses and blinks. "Hnh. I guess you're right!" Then he shakes his head. "Guess I'd better Google myself when I get a chance."

"Gotta be careful about that, lad, or you might go blind," Kate says. Surely, she is joking?

Rodney laughs. "Don't be so old fashioned, Kate! It's perfectly normal for healthy young people to Google themselves from time to time! In fact, it's recommended!"
Rodney's going to assume she's joking, and play along.

"Yeah, yeah," Kate complains, "Just don't forget your anti-virus."

"Of course not!" Rodney sounds offended that Kate would even suggest he might. He straightens up, then leans back into the couch. "So anything interesting? Potential Transformers that need to be looked into, that sort of thing?"

Kate takes a moment to consider and replies, "Nothing definite. However, a lot of us have been turning out metas. Thing is, I mostly just see the bad side of 'em. Some of them might be 'cons, maybe."
"Y'remember hearing about PILTI on the news? First, we thought it was just straight domestic terrorism, but now it's looking like it might be meta-related. They didn't find no traces of explosives, and the place was levelled, but they did find a circle of charred grass just outside."
"At least one body's not accounted for."

Rodney's lips pull into a frown and he nods. "Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Worth looking into, at least." He winces. "Though by now, the trail might have gone cold."
He looks up at Kate. "Confirmed that Addison's sister is also one of us, Bambi. But one of his cousins is also a Transformer and..." he shakes his head. "I'm not sure who he is." He hesitates. "She is? Erm, pretty sure it's he." Rodney's always had a problem with gender among Transformers, but it's fairly unusual for him to have the same issues with humans.

"Yeah, the First Bunch of Idiots probably bungled gathering the evidence," Kate says, grimacing.
At Rodney's faltering about Addison's cousin's gender, Kate suggests, "Farlane? And oh... there's a girl in my department, Petunia Dahlia. I don't much like to gossip, but word has it that she's an amnesiac. Let me tell you, it's hard enough for a woman to become a police officer as it is. But going right to Detective with no background that anyone remembers? I mean, Captain Fanzone's crazy, but he ain't that kind of crazy."

"Maybe?" Rodney answers. "Colors don't seem right, but you can't always go by that. Humans change their coloration so often, anyway." Hair is dyed, skin tans, all more frequently than Transformers typically gets a new paint job, and that's ignoring the clothing situation.
He nods as Kate describes the girl. "Petunia?" He shrugs. "Think I should meet her, then?"

"What colour are his eyes?" Kate asks. Then she remembers that Rodney has green, and she frowns. "You... keeping okay with your... passengers?"
She snorts. "Would be easy enough to get her to meet you if I mentioned I had a buddy working on MLP3. Girl loves her some movies."

"Light blue," Rodney answers quickly, apparently having little problem remembering the detail. He gives a faintly puzzled frown. "There's something strange about both him and Addison, really."
That frown grows more definite and less puzzled when Kate brings up the rider. "Well, he's been... quiet, but..." His right hand goes up to touch his temple. "It's not bad yet, but I've got a lot more grays than I did when I first got changed. He's..." Rodney can't quite keep the fear out of his voice as he continues. "He's burning me out faster in this body."
As Kate continues on over her movie-loving coworker, however, he cheers up, happy for the change in topic. "Loves them, huh? Does she quote them constantly, then?"

"You don't know if he's a he or a she, but you know what colour his eyes are?" Kate asks, raising a brow. "That'd make a lot of ladies happy, lad. Light blue... maybe Oracle?" She shrugs. Light blue is not very helpful. Kate could be tossing out the names of Autobots all day. "Meta strange or high class strange or what?"
Then she goes quiet. It's just not right, what's happened to the boy. If anyone ought to be noticing more grey hairs, it ought to be her. She reaches over to try to put an arm around his shoulders.
Before Kate can say anything, he's gone and changed the topic on her, so she rolls with it, "Petunia doesn't quote movies constantly. Just often enough to be noteworthy. It slips into her conversation, but she doesn't really notice it. If you call her on it, she can tell you what movie or episode or song it's from. See, normally, I'd think she's just a nerd, but given that amnesia... kinda weird to remember trivia like that and not more important stuff."

Rodney accepts the arm around his shoulders, and without thinking even leans into it for comfort. "Meta strange. Addison doesn't have the abilities Mirage did, and he doesn't seem to think he's one, but..." and now Rodney pushes back some hair back behind his ears and shifts, blushing a little. "This is going to sound strange, but he wears humanity well. I mean, he was good looking as a robot and all, but he's really good looking as a human. Except it... doesn't make any sense for me to think this way!" He spreads out his hands, looking at his palms. "I don't have double-sets of memories like most of you, and for the most part I still have all my Transformer... sensibilities, I guess. It's not that humans look bad or anything, but for everyone but him, well..." he shrugs. "Robots look better."
He nods as Kate describes Petunia. "Well, worth looking into, anyway. Sure, let her know I work on set."
