Elly winces over the serial killer joke and chooses to ignore it.
"That, and if he really thought corporations were people, he ought to be trying to free them from being owned by other people," Elly mutters, squinting suspiciously at the Senator from Wyoming.
She thinks that Det. Dahlia is being much too blase with her life, but it is her life and death to lead. Elly already has one more than she deserves to worry about.

Sadly for Elly, Petunia really is just that thoughtless again. She catches the wince and winces herself as she realizes what she said. "Sorry."
She sighs. "I know that doesn't make up for it, but... I should probably go now before I put my foot in it some more."
Wrap?

"You don't need anything else?" Elly asks. That cop had better do a slagging good job of finding that murderer! Also, the company really was nice, even if Det. Dahlia is a disgusting sack of meat.
When she goes, it will be back to C-SPAN and the History Channel for Elly.
Oh joy.
Wrap.

"Not at the moment." Petunia smiles. "I'll come back if I think of anything, though."
She glances up at the teevee. "Do you get Syfy? They've got great stupid movies on Saturdays."

"Uh? I don't know. Why would I want to watch stupid movies?" Elly asks. She is genuinely confused.

"Because they're fun to laugh at." Petunia stands and ambles towards the door.

Elly and 'fun' may not be on speaking terms.
The End?

Petunia may have a little too much fun.
The End.
