Addison looks up from where he is kneeling next to his car, watching and listening to the back and forth between the two men and the robot. His eyes narrow as they turn toward Willard. Now that is a very familiar stream of invective- and since Addison knows who Kup really is....
The actor straightens. "Gentlemen," and Addison's tone of voice makes it clear that he is using the term in a very loose manner, "Let us not lose ourselves in a conflict of personalities. We do not want to be swerved from the issue at hand by a mirage built of misunderstanding. I am sure that everyone here has absolutely the best of intentions."
He fixes a look at each of the others, "Now, I believe this gentleman here," Addison gestures at Willard, "has the best chance of helping me at the moment. I appreciate the assistance offered by you other two, so do allow me to compensate you for your attempts at altruism."
With that, Addison opens up his wallet, removes $200 and attempts to hand it to Guido. It turns the actor's stomach to do so, but the gangster is assuredly a Decepticon. Hopefully, Guido hasn't "woken up" enough to not be swayed by the sight of cold hard cash.
As for Mistwind, "I'm afraid I'm unsure how to compensate you. Perhaps this?" Addison hesitantly takes a gas card out of his wallet and offers it to the robot. He'll call and put an amount cap on it as soon as he has cell service again.
OOC: I rolled odds, so the image of Mistwind did not go through to the Autobots. Addison may notice this and try again to send it later.

Guido scowls darkly. "Who you callin' a punk, punk? You t'ink youse the only guy that's done the underground circruit? Youse--huh?"
Guido abruptly stops talking to stare in puzzlement at Willard--why does the moron think he can call in Wreckers? Does this punk think he's an Autobot?
"GAAHHH!" Robot in the face! Guido stumbles back, startled by Mistwind's outburst. Doesn't the kid recognize him? Guido blinks, something, an idea trying desperately to make its way through his brain--
Then Addison hands money to Guido. Guido may or may not have "woken up", but Duskwing is also a greedy bastard. All confusion vanishes from his mind--this, he understands. He scarfs up the cash in a move only slightly slower than Blurr. "Smart move, wise guy. Now everybody just hold on a minute while I take care of dis. Dat means you, too, robot."
Then he steps back several feet and yells at a surly-looking teenager who had been watching from a battered doorway. "Hey, you! Fade! Pass the word, dis guy done paid up. Anybody strips his car or mugs him, you know who dey's crossing."
Fade edges down the sidewalk toward Guido, hand out. "Need Sooner's cut."
Guido's eyes narrow and he peels off a twenty. "Dat's for now, and for deliverin' the message. He gets the rest when I see him, an' don't forget dat I'm gonna tell him I gave you dis, so don't get forgetful 'bout deliverin' his cut, see?"
Fade eyes Guido; something about the gangster's stance and known propensity for unreasoning violence encourages to mumble a "yeah" and move on.

Willard – rather, Swerve – knows Guido's type. One-stroke thugs, too stupid to do an oil change but given enough power to make them dangerous, getting their poison into everything they can. They make him sick with rage. Guido doesn't earn so much as a blink with his reply, though Addison gets a sidelong glare with those bizarrely out of place words. Who in Primus' name says clunky things like swerved from the issue at hand and mirage built of misunderstandings? Most people just call it a misunderstanding.
Is this really Mirage?
That line of thought is abandoned for the moment in favour of raw, murderous hatred focused on Guido after the exchange with that kid. Just a kid.
"You," he snarls, low, knuckles nearly white, "best get gone while I've got work to do, you half-clocked piece of slime. And if I ever see you in my neighbourhood again, if I even hear you're talkin' to these kids again, I'll break you so your own maker won't recognise you." He'll get started right here if Guido says the wrong thing, car be damned.

There is little as satisfying as seeing a confused soul grasp at the nearest source of imagined safety. Mistwind observes how the thug attempts to assume instant control by means of 'who-pays-who-tribute'. The only mistake he makes regarding Mistwind is telling the mech to 'hold on' in a bossy manner. This earns him a subtle glare. Then Fade appears and Mistwind is unsure of what to think. It's just some human kid and while he could potentially hear Duskwing talking by now (did that increase over time?), it is not the same as Duskwing's conversations with Mistwind. Still, Mistwind wonders what Guido would do if Mistwind were to fade this 'Fade' creature to a heap of stardust and deliver it to his front door in a box. If Duskwing can be possessive about Mistwind, then Mistwind should be possessive about Duskwing, right?
Willard bristles towards Guido, and Mistwind leaves the two be. Seems someone else is also bothered by the kid. "Human Addison Payne." He states, "This one is attempting to understand human culture. It is correct in that refusing compensation for attempted help is rude? Then this one must accept." He crouches on one knee and will indeed take the card if allowed. He doesn't say 'thank you' because 1. this is a human, and 2. Duskwing taught him that you shouldn't say thanks unless you trust them or they're equally strong.
So, the thug stores Duskwing, the mechanic is a Lost one too, and the actor is just talking weird enough to make the suspicion meter tilt dangerously near Lost. He nods at Addison and turns to leave. He gives Guido a playful look, and his optics brighten just a bit in an excited flash. Mistwind will start to walk off. It just so happens to be in the same direction Fade went off to...
Heading to leave the thread.

"Ah, sometimes, yes," Addison answers Mistwind, somewhat nervously. At least the robot appears to be leaving. Now if the thug will only do the same....
He looks over at Willard. "I suppose pushing it is best, unless you've a wrecker at your shop?" The last is said rather hopefully. Addison doesn't really like the idea of getting any more dirty and rumpled than he already is.

Alas for Mistwind's designs on Fade, Guido just knows Fade as one of Sooner's gangbangers--he's just a messenger boy as far as Guido is concerned... and not a very reliable one, hence the implied threats.
The robot wanders off, leaving Guido C. Ala still slightly confused. He knows the kid from somewhere, but from where? He turns back to the business at hand with a shrug--
Which is Willard.
Guido's eyes widen, and he clenches his own fists as he whirls to face Willard again. He should just haul out his pistol and plug the guy, but there's too many witnesses. Killing the rich guy witness would probably stir up all kinds of high-profile trouble, and he was told very specifically by the consigliere not to do that slag. He said to keep a low profile, and Guido has followed orders faithfully--he's been working out of town for Lord Slaughter. He's just back in town on vacation, with a fat minion paycheck just cashed--and now this low-life is coming around and threatening him in his own neighborhood! Uncertain just what to do, he falls back to his default: bluster and threaten.
"Who the frag do you think you are? You think you got the bearings to run me outta my own neighborhood? You ain't no wiseguy--you just some loudmouth...." Guido finally notices that Willard isn't actually some teenage punk, but is even older than Guido is, "...uh, geezer. I oughtta teach you a lesson 'bout lettin' your mouth write checks you can't cash, rust-bucket!"
Guido is completely oblivious to the Cybertronian idioms creeping into his angry rant.

OOC: Skipping Willard due to time out.
Do not worry, Addison. Mistwind is leaving. He doesn't even turn back as the conversation between Willard and Guido is about to reach its breaking point. He'll make sure to be somewhere else in case they get rowdy enough to attract peace-keepers.
Out of thread!

"I said," Willard barks at Addison, "I'll push it. Now shut that trap and put this heap of yours in neutral." He turns back to Guido. "You, punk, don't have the bearings to do anything without your boss's say-so. I know your type. Good-for-nothing bottom of the bucket freeloading slime." He sees those fists at Guido's sides; he just doesn't care. He's too angry to care. Guido's no more a threat than Ransack ever was. "Go on," Willard mutters. "Run back to boss crying about the angry old man who doesn't give a damn who you've got paying for your shiny shoes and nice jacket. Because this isn't your neighbourhood, you worthless sack of lugnuts."
Willard steps back only to crack his neck and brace himself behind the car. He doesn't dignify Guido with another wayward glance.
"Decent people around here have actual work to do," he growls at the thug all the same. Then he looks up toward the driver's seat. "Any time, pretty boy!"
