"Ah, yeah, good idea," Kate nods as Elly suggests Nightbeat, not really realizing that she's encouraging Elly's love of invading privacy. "I'll let him now."
She frowns. "So in other words... whoever's doing that has some pretty good resources and is in a position to notice some pretty odd stuff. Good to know. I'll keep an eye out for anything odd in my line.
She frowns. "If it's Riot, why would he be a villain?" she points out.

"Sometimes good Autobots go bad," Elly says, a far-off look in her eyes. She is thinking about Wasp, of course. "I just think the tech level of some of his gadgets is fishy... speaking of..."
"Have you looked at some of the cyborg parts Dr. Hook makes?" Now, Perceptor or Breakaway or Mayday might have already reported Hook by now, but Hook was mentioned in the info thread, so he's being mentioned now. She brings up pictures.
"Mirage's cousin has a few arrests on his record," which Kate may have known and is really only notable because this is Mirage's cousin.

Not thinking of Blackarachnia with that? Kate nods, frowning. "We'll have to look into him, then," she says, speaking of Professor Sharp. "Won't be too surprised if I get called in for him on the job, anyway." Except it won't happen, because Kate's player runs both.
Kate shrugs when Elly mentions Hook. "I ain't looked at 'em, no, 'cos they wouldn't make much sense to me, but he's on our radar, yeah." She snorts at the final mention. "The cousin thing... 'a few arrests' is pretty tenuous. By itself, it don't mean much. But as it turns out, Roddy met the guy and can confirm he's Cybertronian, so... track 'em."

Elly thinks about Blackarachnia all the time! Mostly about how Blackarachnia would laugh to see Sentinel Prime in such a condition... and then still maintain that Blackarachnia has it worse off and that nothing Sentinel Prime can do will ever make it better and that she will never, forgive him, ever, but she will totally make his life a living Pit.
Well. At least Sentinel Prime's life won't be a living Pit, no matter what Blackarachnia does.
Because he's dead.
"Speaking of Mordred..." she pulls up some pictures, "Mordred has a fairly specific method of knocking down buildings, which looks a whole lot like how PILTI was knocked down." The Feds may have put these pieces together; Kate may have already heard this. "Which raises the question... did Mordred want to kill someone in PILTI... or get someone out? Or yes?"
"There's whoever killed this stupid body of mine out on the loose. Might be a creepy redhead? Det. Dahlia has probably mentioned about that to you."
"There is also a rash of missing persons in the Detroit area, which you probably also knew. Not much a pattern to it that I can see."

Kate nods at each point. A lot of these things aren't things that she has an answer to right at this moment, but most of them sound worth investigating. She frowns at the last bit, however. "Yeah, knew about that. Hadn't even been enough to call in MCU so far. Any reason to believe that it's related to us?"

"That it started after we all got turned human?" Elly replies, scuffing her foot on the floor. They didn't all get turned human. Optimus didn't, lucky skidplate.
She pulls up another slide, "So... there's this evil fashion line in Italy that makes humans more likely to support Decepticons."
Elly has some items from it in her closet. She has covered them in foil to keep them from getting to her.

Kate hnhs. "Yeah, that's a reason. Could just be a coincidence, but I don't trust coincidences. One tricky thing to remember, though, is that things starting before we got turned human don't mean it's not us." Screwy rewritten histories.
She scowls as Elly mentions the fashion line. Fortunately, she's from one of the weirder realities, so she takes the news pretty easily (whether or not it's the weirdest is open to debate; brainwashing car washes and video game suicides put up pretty tough competition). "Yeah? Get me the details on the line, and we'll get someone over there to look into it." She hrms. "We identify Farlane yet? He's probably the best one to look into a fashion mystery."

"Maybe? I checked the database about an hour ago, but it could have updated since then," or Elly might just have missed something, "but I would have to go back into my closet to access the secure connection to check."
This is Elly's player glossing over being uncertain about Farlane.
She gives Kate more information about the evil fashion.
Elly also adds, "Yeah, it's crazy how many pies Shockwave has her fingers in. It's like giving her an extra hand made her extra finger-pie-y."
Is that a thing? It is now.

Kate scowls. "It's not the number of hands, it's the head start." She stands up, twists the chair around, and sits back on it backwards, resting her arms on the seat back. "Hate to say it, but getting her back in her normal form is a high priority. It'll actually weaken her on this planet, I'm thinking." She snorts, and then adds, "'Less we can come up with a way of taking her out without it getting traced back to us."
She looks at Elly. "You got anything else?" Kate asks, pulling a thumb-drive out of her pocket.

Elly sighs and admits, "That's all, sir, but I will work tirelessly..." she pauses and thinks about that, "...erm, I will work as hard as my condition allows to find more conspiracies!" She clenches a fist as she makes this vow.
Interrupted, of course, by brief periods of subjecting her Optimus toy to untold horrors, such as the time he foolishly will forget to wear snow tyres, will become stuck in a snow drift, and will be completely helpless and in need of a snow plow, but Hasbro never made a toy of that, so blows to be him!
Then toy-Mirage will get stuck in the snow drift, too. He will complain about how plebeian snow is.
Toy-Optimus will contemplate poking out his own audios.
It will be great.

Kate tosses Elly the thumb drive. "All right. Thanks. Go ahead and transfer the power-point to that thing. Encryption code six." Kate's going to assume that Elly has all the standard encryption codes memorized. "It's already been scanned," she assures, standing back up.

Of course Elly has them memorised. She scans the flash drive for viruses anyway, because that is what she does. Then Elly loads the PowerPoint onto the flash drive, properly ejects it, and tries to hand it back to Kate. She asks, almost eagerly, "Anything else you need me to do?" - - - OOC: Probably fade?

"Naw, just keep up the good work," Kate answers, accepting the thumb drive back. She smirks. "I would say make sure you're taking some down time to unwind, but... looks like you are, anyway."
OOC: Good with fade.
