Arlen can have all the shoes when this debacle is over. He can have the clothes too. Carolyn will spin it to Control that feeling pretty keeps him more stable. It could work.
With a grimace, she slips the shoes on and stands. As she said, she has perfect balance, and the issue isn't that she can't walk in the shoes. The problem is that she can't walk properly. The sexiest heels in the world look terrible if one stomps in them as if they are combat boots.
"Hmpf. Why don't you have to do it then, if it's so big a deal?" She stalks across the room, the water only sloshing a little, and then back again. "And if it's so easy, why don't you show me how it's done?"

"You wear a different shoe size than I do," Arlen observes, one brow arched. He walks over to the hotel room closet and pulls out a pair of shoes that picked up on a whim. They're definitely masculine in styling, but they just happen to have four inch heels. He sits back down and pulls on the heels. Arlen stands up slowly. As long as he moves slowly, he can pull off graceful, and his stiff joints don't protest too much. He tries to take the bowl from her and set it on his head if allowed. Arlen warns, "I'm not sure how useful this will be for you. Men and women tend to have differences in gait. Then again, you tend to walk more like a man. You don't swing at the hips as much as one would expect of the average woman."
Arlen walks. She may notice that he has to engage a slightly different set of muscles to walk in the heels without clomping. He walks over to the television, in fact, and brings up a fashion show after flicking through some channels.

Carolyn cocks her head to the side and watches Arlen walk, frowning all the while.
"The only reason I can see for making women wear those shoes is because it makes their butts look more attractive to those behind them. It surely doesn't do anything to make their fronts look more attractive." Which is not entirely true. Wearing heels properly actually improves posture, which means the shoulders are back and the chest is out, which does improve appearance. Carolyn however, walks like that normally, so she doesn't see the difference.
She tries the walk again. This time, she tries placing her steps closer to in-line rather than side by side, so she gets a bit more of that hip swivel she was lacking. It also looks terribly unnatural for her.

"It's also a height thing, specifically a leg length thing. It isn't as noticeable on you, because while you're designed to look plain, you're also designed in proportion, so you don't need to worry about too-short legs throwing off your whole look. That, and it pulls your shoulders back and your chest out, which you do anyway," Arlen explains.
He sits back down and takes the bowl off his head, so that he can shake it. "I can't believe you've never had better coaching in disguise. Pretend you're walking on a balance beam and have to keep one foot ahead of the other."

Carolyn scowls. "I'm the one who does it from miles away, Arlen. If I'm getting close to a mark, it isn't disguise that I need, it' stealth, and that I do have training in."
The balance beam analogy, though, she gets. If she can walk on a few inches wide ledge twenty stories up, she can walk a balance beam. She shoots Arlen a slightly exasperated look, props one hand on her hip, and walks the imaginary line. Each foot strikes hard in front of the other. She's stalking that line like she's stepping on people's faces, and maybe she is. It's attitude and balance that models work for years to develop.
Carolyn just things it's all rather stupid. And uncomfortable. These things hurt her feet.

Arlen frowns and amends his advice, "Pretend you're walking on a balance beam in a minefield."
Will the woman not stop stomping?

After she adjusts her gait (again) and walks up and down a few more times, Carolyn actually seems to be getting a feel for the shoes.
"Better?" she finally asks as she stops and leans against the entertainment unit. Carolyn looks at the clock and frowns.
"It's getting late."

"Better," Arlen says, and he nods his head in approval, "There is anti-chafe cream for the heels. You will want to use it. You need to be off now?"
Arlen supposes he could use the sleep and that she... probably has better things to be doing.

She nods. "Need to catch up with Stella. Also, see if I can track down exactly which hotel he's at." Carolyn frowns. Doing so shouldn't be as difficult as it has been.
"It would probably be beneficial if you and I went out in company once I start scouting. You'll be able to help keep me in character. Are you willing to do that?"
This is his vacation. So yes, she will ask, not command.

Arlen throws his head back and laughs, "I'm yours."
OOC: Fade, so you can go get other threads started?
