"Ooh, nice," Rodney says appreciatively, even if he still feels this doesn't really take away from the coolness of a mach hovercar. It's just a distinct kind of cool. Then he grins. "And yes, yes, I did. Mostly... a lot of explosions." He's rather hoping she doesn't probe into what it was like to work on that movie, because he really has no idea. He knows his name is on the credits, but he has no memories of the event. He'd just have to make best guesses from his experience on MLP3 and bluff.

"So, uh, MLP3," Stella says awkwardly, running her fingers through some of her wet braids, "Is it actually any good? I know, I know, you have to tell me it's the best movie ever, and I oughta take all my friends, but... really? I was never really into that stuff as a kid, you see. My aunt always told me, 'Lass, those ain't ponies. In my day, mares were wild beasts that would only calm down if you fed 'em human flesh, so that's just what we did.'" Stella smiles wistfully and shakes her head. "She was so full of BS. Best MP I ever knew. Anyway, some of the guys I know will probably drag me off to see it, and.... ehn. I saw the first and that snotty wossname just about made me want to punch someone, and the second one, I was so wasted when I saw it, I don't even know. Does... does his acting get any better?"
Stella pays as little attention to Hollywood as she can, but anti-gun actors who sneer at the troops and hunters1 really get her goat.
1 Based off this line, "In fact, Addison has some memories of having participated in various campaigns against wars, firearms, and hunting at various points in his life." It is entirely possible that Springer is being uncharitable here and that Mirage really isn't that bad, but Springer and Mirage generally don't get along, so Springer may be over exaggerating.

Rodney grins. "Yeah, that is a pretty wild story," he agrees. And... familiar. Not the story itself, of course, but the phrasing, the... level of unbelievability...
But naw. This is just some human.
... And right now, so is Kup. And he... she... has a fully fleshed background. She has an ex-husband.
Does she have a niece?
But no, it can't be. She's not a MP. But... does that mean she was never one?
"This aunt... what was she like?" And then she realizes that Stella... might be asking about his official boyfriend. And possibly calling him a snotty wossname. "And, uhm, you wouldn't happen to mean Danny, would you?"

Stella blinks and looks pained when asked about her aunt. She shifts uncomfortably and seems to sift through her mind for a happy memory to latch onto, and then she's back to her cocky self. Stella rattles off, "I owe that old-timer. I'd lay it all on the line, just to go some way to repaying her. She taught me everything I know that's worth knowing - how to shoot, how to hunt, right from wrong. Raised me after my parents died."
She has a water-proof pack around her waist. Stella unzips the front compartment and pulls out her wallet. She flips it open, and there, in the little plastic sleeve, is a rather battered photograph of an old women who might look pretty familiar to Rodney.
"That's her. Why?" Stella searches Rodney's face, and there is something dangerous about her bearing.
Then she laughs. "Danny? Is that what that scrawny dandy's name was? I felt sorry for the horse... unicorn, whatever stuck with him! Where does he get off, looking down on the troops? And I bet he eats duck like any hunter - he just calls it some fancy name. Fwah gwar? Isn't GWAR a band? Like he's so much better than us plebes because he has some servant buy his meat at a store instead of getting off his behind and catching it himself."

Rodney is ready to dismiss the whole matter as bizarre coincidence when Stella mentions being raised by the woman - after all, he's pretty sure that if Kate had raised some one, there'd be some indication around her place. And then he sees the picture, and his eyes widen and his jaw drops. He makes a grab for the picture and if allowed, he'll even snatch it from Stella. "What's her name?" he demands.
Wait, and isn't there something going on about insulting his boyfriend? Doesn't matter, Rodney can deal with that later.

"Whoa there, buddy," Stella says, bristling at the thought of some crazy guy she just met, you know, grabbing her wallet. She snaps the wallet shut and takes a step back. She accidentally bumps the guy behind her in line, and he gives her a dirty look. Stella just shrugs at him.
She demands right back, "What's it to you?" and she puts her wallet back and zips up her pack. Her aunt is awesome, and Stella doesn't mind talking about her, but she is not sure if this redhead is just trying to steal her wallet or what.
Stella lets the matter of Addison Payne drop. There are plenty of celebrities like him, and the redhead acting all strange about her aunt is a more pressing concern.

"Sorry," Rodney apologizes, backing away, hands up, palms towards Stella. "It's just... I know someone who looks just like her. Exactly. Well, maybe a bit older, but..."
He shakes his head. "It's probably just a coincidence," he explains. "I mean, I don't mean to get your hopes up or anything," Rodney had not missed that she spoke about her aunt in past tense. "I can maybe give her a call? Ask her if she has a niece or something?"

Part of Stella is thinking that maybe this guy is an enemy spy or something, but the rest of Stella is almost feverish with hope. Her eyes light up, and she tries to grab him by the forearm as if to hold him and see if he's real. Stella says excitedly, "Yeah? We... never found a body. I've always hoped that she might be alive after that... mess. It would be like the tough old bird. What's her name? Do you have an international phone?"

As Rodney's grabbed, reflexes kick in (especially since he's been on the defensive over Stella's somewhat aggressive, somewhat suspicious behavior). He flips her over his shoulder and into the sand and then immediately drops down, holding his forearm against her neck.
And then his eyes widen.
"Ah. Gods. Sorry," he says hurriedly, backing off immediately. At this point, the two are being given rather odd looks by the others in line, and Rodney holds up his hands and says louder, this time addressing them, "Erm, sorry! I, uhm, that was an accident."

Stella doesn't have melee training. Heck, she wasn't even allowed to play with the other kids on the playground for fear that she might break someone's darling! So while she's strong, this is not an area where she has expertise. Stella is a pilot and a ranged combatant.
Anyway, Rodney just racked up a tidy sum of 'probable enemy agent' points by flipping Stella like that. Her first action is to try to get her hands under his arm to try to pry it away from her neck. Then as he backs away, she digs her feet into the sand and rises into a crouch. Stella growls, "Okay, buddy. Who the >firetruck< do you work for?"
Then she lunges for him. Stella tries to grab him and take a flying leap off into the ocean.

Stella may leap into the ocean, but she doesn't bring Rodney with him. Despite his stuttering apologies, he isn't ready to let himself be grabbed, and he's quick enough to twist out of the way.
"I told you! I work for Paramount!" he shouts, but by that point she's... leaping away? Into the ocean in one jump? He stares. The issue isn't that she's a meta, but...
She's a meta with green hair, an 'aunt' who looks exactly like Kup's human form, and a leaping ability.
And she miiiiiiight be attempting to kill him here in a moment, he realizes. He'll have to deal with that. But away from these humans. If there's going to be a fight, it can't be near them. He turns and runs along the beach, looking, not for cover, but for a place that isn't occupied.

The thing about jumping is that it is difficult to stop in mid jump. So while Stella does not connect with her grab on Rodney, she still ends up dumped into the ocean.
She swears, ">Ambulance<, I need a gun." Sadly, her current pride and joy is back at the airfield. Stella was not supposed to get into a fight with an enemy agent! She was supposed to do innocuous things while Carolyn finds the bad guys!
Stella takes a deep breath and dives underwater until she hits the bottom. She plants her feet. She jumps. Water resistance makes this leap not nearly as impressive as the first one, but she lands in the shallows, anyway. One more jump, and she might well be on top of Rodney, unless he moves fast. Stella taps her left ear a few times. She ought to mention something to Carolyn or Control. She ought to.

Okay, so... the jumping woman is jumping after him, a heck of a lot faster than he can run. Probably not faster than he can fly, but he'd prefer not to give up the game on that so soon. She already seems to be assuming he's some sort of secret agent (which would be cool, of course, but isn't quite the truth. He's something even less likely, a robot in a human body who sometimes plays superhero).
As he runs, he starts to dig into the pouch around his waist. Regardless of how fashion unforward such packs may be, he's on the beach by himself in an outfit without pockets and can't just leave his wallet and phone laying around in the sand (and besides, it is waterproof, at the least). Besides, this is THE FUTURE. Maybe such belt-pouches are back in style!
(But probably not.)
He fumbles in it. He's only got three things in there - wallet, phone, and keys. However, even three things is a lot when someone's trying to grab one thing in particular while running. Naturally, it'll be the last thing he grabs. He's just pulling the phone out of his pouch when Stella cuts him off...
OOC: Posting of Stella cutting him off with permission.

Stella leaps again, twists in the air, and lands facing Rodney. Her general vague plan is to grab him, drag him off to an undisclosed location, lock him up somehow, and then go find a rubber hose. Somewhere in there, Stella should call Carolyn or Control.
She studies him. He looks faintly familiar. She asks, "Hey. You ever incited destabilisation of authoritarian states?"
Maybe Stella remembers him from that? He looks rebellious, she thinks. He could be a rebel of some kind.

Pretty much as she's landing, Rodney finally manages to get his phone from his pouch. He's about to dial it, when she asks her question. He blinks. "What?! No!" Even though the Decepticons more or less ruled Cybertron and the Autobots were largely driven underground, that doesn't count. The Decepticons totally weren't stable to begin with.
He hits a button - well, the screen, which has buttons on it - and swings it to face Stella. "Look, see, I told you!" then he mutters, "C'mon, you old rust bucket, pick up..."
And then the screen lights up, and a very familiar looking woman shows up on it. She blinks, startled, at being shown some green haired woman she's never met, but she recognizes the number. "What th- what kind of trouble did you manage to get into this time, lad?" she demands of the off-screen (to her) Rodney.
