"Excellent. I shall bring the pertinent paperwork with me tomorrow. I am certain we can arrange to meet again during the break. Tomorrow, or the next day at the very least," Victoria smiles slightly, "There will of course be the usual disclosure and confidentiality agreements."
Victoria finishes her tea and twists to place the bottle in the recycle bin next to the bench. She stands, adjusts her purse strap on her shoulder, and holds out her hand to Persephone.
"I look forward to a mutually beneficial working relationship, Persephone," she says, that slight smile still in place.
Victoria thinks she knows now why the young teacher seems so familiar to her. She may be incorrect, but finding out is she is or is not should be quite fun.

"I would expect nothing less. I shall look forward to it," Persephone replies as she replaces her bottle in her handbag and rises to return that handshake. "I must admit that I am quite eager to explore the opportunities that your company facilities are certain to provide. Your generous assistance has done much to outfit our facilities here at the university, however, there is little that could compare to cutting edge research and development laboratories."

It is now day three of the lecture series...
The surgery was completely routine, which is just how James likes it. If everything continues to go well, those replacement hearts could hit the mainstream in less than a year, saving many lives. He has a flight out of town later in the day, but for now, he is wasting his time listening to this lecture series.
Pausing to look at a poster, James mutters to himself, "It is a criminal shame no one has a working transmat reduction beam yet," and he munches on his grape-jelly and lime-marmalade sandwich. (Purple and green being the best colours, of course.)
If a certain someone is around, she might just ping on that muttered phrase.

A familiar purple-haired woman walks up at the doctor's right shoulder. She hears the mutterings, but Victoria is from the wrong reality to get the exact reference. She does, however, get the gist of what Hook is pining for.
"One must be careful when rolling out technology which has such a broad spectrum of uses such as that," she says, "The average human is more against technology that seems heretical than for it, even when history proves their fears ridiculous."
She holds out her hand and introduces herself, "Victoria Raines. I have long been desiring your acquaintance, Dr. Hook. Please allow me to congratulate you on your recent successful surgery. Your work may well save many lives in the future."

There is another certain someone nearby who is from the appropriate reality to understand the reference, though, as Persephone crosses the corridor to meet up with Victoria.
Transmat Reduction Beam?! Surely I did not hear that correctly! It isn't possible! How could-- Dr. Hook? Surely not...
"Good morning, Ms. Raines. Dr. Hook?" Persephone greets politely as he joins the pair. "I was not aware that you were attending the conference, Doctor." Surely it couldn't be Hook. Oh, but that would be so very convenient for Victoria, wouldn't it, to retrieve the engineer and twist his mind back to them again. Persephone much prevent that, if she can.
If this is Hook.

James offers his hand and shakes briskly. The hand is warm, the skin is supple, and the flesh yields just so, but something seems wrong about the bone structure under the flesh. This would be because a crocodilian bit off his right hand, and he replaced it with a rather cunning cyborg hand, which is loaded with all sorts of interesting things.
"Ms. Raines. There is no 'may'. It will," James corrects, seemingly unimpressed by this most formidable of women, "It already has. Anyway, if I let stupid people hold me back, I'd never get anything done."
So much for those who condemn heretical technology!
He continues to appear unimpressed as he looks over Dr. Cortice, and he has another bite of his sandwich before explaining, "I was bored. I am still bored."

Victoria notes the odd feel of Hook's hand and files it away for later consideration. The Doctor's words draw and arched eyebrow from her, and then an odd sound that is almost a giggle. If this is not Hook, than this is Hook's human separated at birth twin.
"You will find that more of the general populace falls into that category, Doctor. Humanity is still rather low on the evolutionary scale in regards to such things, thinking more with their collective heart than with their collective head."
"They care not if a process saves a life, if it betters the world, or even if it is the free choice of the individual undergoing the process. They worry more about tenements set down by in bygone ages that have no real applicability in today's world."
Victoria greets Persephone with a slight smile, "Do you not agree, Persephone? Your field often comes under such scrutiny."
