Previously, we've been pretty profligate with allowing retcons. However, we're afraid we're going to change that as we feel it has a bad effect on the game and encourages players to feel as if they don't have to pay much attention to what has previously happened in a thread.
From now on, in order for a retcon to be allowed, it must be okayed by all affected players in a thread. It must then also have two out of three of the admin discuss and agree that the proposed retcon is for the good of the game.
In situations where two or more of the admin are affected by the retcon, all three must agree and there will be a day or two's grace period while we try to come up with a better alternative.
This will cut down on the number of allowed retcons. Players who are unduly unpleasant about being refused a retcon will have this weighed against them when they apply for a new character.
Please note that these rules do not apply to edits made to a post before anyone else posts after you. Thus, if Needlenose's player forgot to address the shining crystal dropped in his hands but edits the post before Hook (who is next in rotation) gets around to calling him an imbecile for letting it shatter on the floor, then it's all good.
Also, you may edit spelling and grammar errors at any time.
We strongly encourage all of our players to read over the posts that have been made since the last time their character posted in that thread. If necessary, please refresh yourself over the last few pages of thread. We would like to minimize the amount of retconning that needs to be done because players miss things in other people's posts.
