As you all know, the winner of the plot poll was the DZ-3 plot. The description, as originally included in the poll, was:
DZ-3? You know, as in Earth-3, the Earth in DC comics where all the heroes are villains? In chat, this has generally been called the "Mirrorverse" plot, but "Mirrorverse" has a very specific meaning in Transfandom, so we'd like to avoid that. The idea, though, is simple: just as in DZ there is some force randomly pulling characters from the known canon Transformers realities, so there is an alternate Deadzone universe where a similar force is pulling characters from a group of mirror Transformers realities. Depending on what percentage of the player base wants to do this one, it can be handled as a group of our characters go there, a group of their characters come here, or a switch ala the Star Trek episode, "Mirror, Mirror."
Now, as a note, a person's DZ-3 alternate need not be a complete and total reversal of their normal character. Often, it's the combinations of similarities and differences that really make a reverse-universe type character interesting. Besides, most of us picked the characters we're playing for particular reasons. While reversing some of their normal qualities can be fascinating and amusing, if you change too much, you risk resulting in a character that you don't actually want to play, not even in the short term.
A good example of a DZ-3 that's been discussed which reverses some things but keeps other parallels are the ideas mentioned for Cannonball. Normal Cannonball is an evil Decepticon pirate. DZ-3 Cannonball has been proposed to be a noble, dashing captain in the Royal Decepticon Navy. They both keep to a nautical theme and include a level of flamboyance, but are still two radically different takes on those themes.
Anyway, as with all plots, those who do not wish to participate do not have to, but it will help us in planning alternate storylines to know who's participating and who isn't. Also, at this point we've not yet decided whether DZ-3 characters are coming here, our characters are going to their universe, or if it's going to be a bit of swapping out - a lot of that depends on how many people sign up and with what characters.
In addition to flat out not participating, there are a rather large number of options for how you guys want to participate if you do, as follows:
1) I wish to play both my normal character and my mirror.
2) I wish to play my DZ-3 only.
3) I wish to participate, and play my normal character only.
4) I wish to participate, and someone else may play my DZ-3.
5) I wish to participate, and would like to play someone else's DZ-3, but not my normal character.
6) I wish to participate, and would like to play both my normal character and someone else's DZ-3.
7) I wish to participate, and would like to play my normal character, my DZ-3, and, if there are spares, someone else's DZ-3
8) I do not wish to participate, but do not mind if someone else plays my DZ-3.
9) I do not wish to participate and do not want anyone else playing my DZ-3.
10) Some permutation of the above.
When you sign up, please specify which option you are going with, and with which characters. It's possible, for example, to play your normal and DZ-3 for one character, participate with only your normal version in another but let someone else run the DZ-3, and flat not participate at all with a third.
Please note that just because you're willing to let someone else run your DZ-3 does not mean that someone else will. There will be a separate thread for those who are putting DZ-3s up for "adoption," but if no one's actually interested, that's just the way it happens.
