When developing DZ-3 characters, it helps to have an idea of what their original universe is like. As with regular Deadzone, these characters are all being pulled from realities that have certain set groups of characteristics, although the one thing that will be common to all the -3 realities is that they are AAEDAG (Autobots Are Evil, Decepticons Are Good) universes (or MAEPAG, or AAEPAG, or MAEVAG). Specific details can vary from universe to universe, though. Perhaps the Decepticons are a group of noble but desperate rebels in one reality, an established democracy in another, and a benevolent Empire in the third? Meanwhile, the Autobots might be the stereotypical Evil Empire in one place, a group of violent malcontents in a second reality, and a corrupt state run on profit at the expense of others elsewhere.
We don't really need too much detail. Just enough to get a springboard for the characters that come from them. After all, these are universes that we're never going to actually see. It's just a way to bounce around ideas while getting a feel for our alternates, and to have fun in the discussion besides.
The usual cliché when it comes to a "reverse-universe" type plot, based on my personal experiences of watching way too much television in the '80's and reading way too many comic books, is that the "reverse-universe" is always a much darker reflection of the original in order to leave the viewer or reader with a feeling of, "Boy, wouldn't it be suck if that were the normal fiction reality? Aren't you glad we write the series the way we do instead?" Often, interactions with the normal universe inspire changes in the better in the reverse universe, either by giving the beleaguered heroes of the reverse universe (the counterparts of the normal universe villains) a greater glimmer of hope, or by somehow inspiring the normal universe's evil counterparts to become better people. You know what, though? There's no reason we need to follow the cliche. Especially when we've got so many different realities to work with. Sure, I imagine some will be darker. Maybe some, however, will be brighter. Like normal Deadzone, we're looking at a mismatch here, but maybe, just maybe, while looking into the mirror, our normal characters can find something to inspire them rather than it always be the other way around. We've got a lot of stuff to play with, a lot of areas to explore.
As with normal Deadzone, there are only going to be set reality "groups" that get pulled from, and within that set, the only thing that changes is the pull-point for the various characters. Thus, all DZ-3s who come from G1 Cartoon-3 are going to come from pretty similar home realities, all the ones from the G1 Marvel-3 have similar homes, and so forth. The exact nature of each -3 home reality is being left up for discussion by the individual players who run characters in those realities and who are also participating in the DZ-3 plot itself.
This thread is for the discussion of what the 2007 Movie-3 universe is like, to be determined by those who run characters in from the normal 2007 Movie universe and who wish to participate in the plot in some way (even if it's just by running their normal characters).
Current characters from the 2007 Movie universe are: Jazz, Bumblebee, Skyblast, and Wreckage

An idea that I had is that the Decepticons want to use the Allspark to bring all machinery to sapience so that it can exist in peaceful harmony with organic life. The Autobots, however, want to keep the Working Man down, seeing that you can profit more if you don't have to pay your toaster. Thoughts?

Your ideas intrigue me. This also allows for the long-suffering "Can't we all just get along?" DZ-3 Wreckage, which makes me oddly happy. Harmonious coexistence between machine and organic sounds like a fine and noble cause, indeed. It makes no sense that the Autobots would want to deny that!

I'm thinking that the Autobot are sort of Evil Big Business/Mafia with a protection racket. They want to be the only robots in town, so that they can keep up a profit. Thus, they see the Allspark-created robots that the Decepticons wants to make as a threat.
This, of course, seems very strange to the Decepticons.
Bumblebee suggested in chat that he lost his voice when Optimus Prime punished him.

Yes. Both sides are arguing over the All Spark, the Autobots have it and Megatron wishes to relieve them of it. This works well with Skyblast's thoughts. The Autobots still threw it into space, keeping in harmony with the original comic. However while regular Megatron crushed Bumblebee's vocal capacitor for keeping him from accurately chasing the cube, we could say Prime punished Bumblebee for failing to completely distract Megatron while it was launched.
On earth, Bumblebee found out that Sam has feelings for Mikaela, and had attempted to capture her so that Sam could bring her the glasses, when Barricade interfered.

Barricade interferes, still manages to get his aft handed to him, but instead of landing in a mangled pile tangled in the remains of the power station, gets tossed back toward where Mikaela and Sam are huddling, trying to keep their heads down. Discretion being the better part of valor and all that, he takes advantage of that fact, rescues Sam and Mikaela, and books it out of there as fast as he can - which, even injured, is still fortunately faster than 'Bee.
DZ-3 Barricade is a bit brash, maybe a little reckless, and something of a prankster. He lives for the "reveal," that moment of "gotcha" when those caught in his - always harmless - pranks realize that they've been had. Despite this, he would sooner crack his own spark chamber than truly betray the trust another has placed in him. One might almost call Barricade a little idealistic. He looks forward to the day when the power of the Allspark can be freed to grant the gift of sapience which the Decepticons and Autobots enjoy to mechanisms throughout the universe. Earth and its creatures, particularly the humans, fascinate him, but he worries about what the Autobots may resort to in order to keep the Allspark hidden or gain control of it for themselves. He also worries for the safety of his fellow Decepticons, especially when it becomes clear that Bumblebee has summoned Optimus Prime. He particularly worries about his buddy Wreckage, whom he knows takes the violence and chaos of the battlefield rather hard. That he worries for Frenzy's safety whenever they are separated goes without saying. Barricade-3 is utterly and unabashedly devoted to his partner, and, although he has all the confidence in the world for his partner's abilities to keep himself out of trouble, he still can't help but worry when he's not there to look out for the smaller 'Con. Or when Frenzy isn't there to look out for him.
Physically, the only difference between Barricade-3 and Barricade is that Barricade-3's rear fender panels have the "To punish and enslave..." replaced with "To serve and protect..."

It occurs to me I should probably describe DZ-3 Wreckage more properly.
Although he resents the war and the chaos it has brought to Cybertron, Wreckage is not a pacifist by any means. He is still a fighter and, despite his misgivings about the practise of warfare and his preference to not need it at all, a very good one. His skill with his blades is still admirable and known in scattered parts of the Decepticon ranks. Perhaps even some Autobots have heard of him.
But none of that really matters to him. Battle shakes him badly; the war levies a dire tax on his psyche, leading him to withdraw often from his comrades and spend much of his time alone after skirmishes with Autobot enforcers. Better to retreat into the tenuous protection of silence and numbness than to suffer the constant pain of warring his own kin. Wreckage-3 is not a truly violent person at his core, and wants nothing more than for the war to end and Cybertron to be reunited in the peace it once enjoyed. To see that peace extended to other worlds seems a pipe dream by now; nevertheless, it is something that gives him hope yet. He will fight for that cause, and he will do so faithfully in Lord High Protector Megatron's name and for the sake of Megatron's vision, but he will not enjoy the fight.
Beneath the veneer of sad, tense calm lies spark-deep turmoil. In recent months, Wreckage-3 has felt himself slip a little more with every sortie, felt himself crack a little further with every battle. He realises that he can and does lose himself in the fighting, and every time it happens, he feels it takes him a little longer to come back to himself. He fears that he is, somewhere within, truly little more than a stone-cold killer and he is terrified that he really will become such a thing if the war goes on much longer. He can be difficult to motivate into combat because of this.
Wreckage-3's stats are the same as Wreckage's; he is not kill_ok.

Known in many Autobot circles as 'Master of Lies' or 'Optimus Prime's left hand', often sent to do the jobs that Prime himself finds just a shade too distasteful. Petty and self-serving, Jazz-3 finds information, retains it, and is not above using it for personal advantage, rather than for the Autobot cause. Most information is given to Optimus Prime, however there are secrets that Jazz-3 does keep hidden. Would rather avoid getting scratched in a fight, therefore normally stays in the shadows, preferring to call shots than be shot. Because of Jazz-3's failure to retrieve the Allspark from the Decepticons-- despite taking a few (paint searing) shots from the rag-tag band of humans helping to protect it, Optimus Prime struck his own lieutenant down with his energy axe in a fit of rage. And thus, Jazz-3 was delivered into Perceptor-3's 'merciful' care.
Other than that, weapons and skills should be pretty much the same-- just applied in a different way.

Blackout-3 is a being of immense regret. He regrets failing to prevent the war; he regrets failing to stop Prime from launching the Allspark into space; most of all, he regrets losing Lord Megatron in the endless void. He bears the lives of the Decepticons lost in battle on his conscience, despite the knowledge that they chose their own path.
Blackout was a guardian of peace before the war, and he continues that path now. He doesn't like to fight; it only begets more fighting. However, he will throw himself into the fires of war to protect life without hesitation. He is just as capable as his counterpart, and just as loyal to his cause.
Blackout-3's abilities are identical to his alternate. He is not kill-ok; however, if Scorponok-3 bites it, Blackout-3 will probably follow.
