OOC: This, like all attack threads, takes place on Day 11. It is assumed that Skyfire-3 has already transported the Autobots-3 within driving range, and they are currently approachng the Autobots' city from the west (uprvier). The fliers are flying, the drivers are driving, and anyone else is left to figure out how they're coming along. Consider Rodimus Prime's trailer volunteered for transport, if anyone's stuck. Swerve-3 has been left securely locked up back at camp with Bluestreak-3 as guard.
This thread begins just as the city comes into view. From the IC perspective, the Decepticon aerial prong of the attack (not yet posted) should be just starting, but barely.
The roads to Autobot City on Gillanan III sing.
Massive tires tear down the metal road and speeds impressive for a vehicle that size. The vibration of so many taking the same route cause the road, built for magnetic gliders, to hum in response, an eerie, wordless screech-song of terror, violence, and spilt energon.
The roads to Autobot City weep. They cry aloud for being forced to support such a wretched charge as this.
And leading the pack is the flame-clad Demon Prime, ruler of Cybertron, destroyer of the Americas, and slaver of a god. He takes hairpin turns with better maneuverability than many racecars, never slowing, never stopping. Indeed, he even speeds marginally faster when the city, so like the one he left behind, comes into view.
"Oh, my, look!" he shouts to his troops, using his radio to enhance his voice and be sure it carries. "Theirs is still standing! Well, we can't have that, can we?"
"Tear it down," he orders as he tears over the final turnoff. "Tear it down, and tear them down. Be alert for traps! Keep in mind the maps you've been given! Do not assume that, simply because they are more foolish than we are, they are also stupider! Work to outthink yourselves!"
"Autobots!!" he cries at the top of his voice, over the roar of his engines and the song of the road. "It is time to smash the mirror!!"

Some tires make the roads sing pain and sorrow. Some simply rip the roads to pieces.
Pee-Dee has been running middle of the pack, but now that they're almost to the city, she slips between the heavier cars, eking her way forwards. She's got a few jobs to do before she can get involved in the fun.
Not that her jobs won't be fun, but they'll be fun with Roddy running her into the red lines.
Darting out from the big pack of cars as soon as they're among the buildings, she takes off through the alleys, weaving her way towards the maintenance section of the Zoo.
---
In and out, Pee-Dee is off to a new topic.

Though more than capable of using all his weapons in robot mode, Nightbeat is, perhaps, at his most deadly in vehicle mode. Insanely fast, with spectacular reflexes, a roof-mounted rifle and two hood-mounted guns, he's sent more Decepticons and neutrals and aliens to sleep with the sharkticons than even his incredible memory can recount. He might not quite be the stylish killer what Wheelie is, but his bodycount is higher.
The blue, flame-decoed car that is his alternate mode races alongside Rodimus, eager to pull ahead and wreck mayhem.
"Yeah! Let's show dese guys what we're made of!"

The Prime is filled with battle fire, and it roils from him in waves. There is a fierce grin of anticipation on Perceptor's face as he pounds along on foot in the midst of the pack.
"With pleasure!" His features twist with wild, cold fury as his concussion rifle swings up into line. Ahead, he watches Pee-Dee swing off on a different heading with eager anticipation. He cannot wait to see what the talented and skilled Junkion can... find for him.
Until then, there is a mirror to shatter.

Mirage is as he always is, at the Prime's side, a proper hound keeping pace at his master's heels. Even if Mirage currently more in the mood to fight his master than these doppelgangers.
It had been worth it. That does not stop Mirage from being angry at being tricked in such a manner, tricked, and then left bereft. Later, in private, Mirage will make his displeasure known, but not now. Now is the time to hunt.
He does not shout out in glee or fury, instead radioing the Prime. If his voice still has a thread of anger that can't quite be hidden, so be it. //I'll be peeling off shortly to get in position for sniping, Prime. Keep in mind, I didn't see everything, and they've had time to make some adjustments.// No, he is not saying be careful. //You want him to yourself?//
Primus forbid Mirage put a shot through that other Prime and take away his master's fun.

The yellow Camaro, dilligently following behind the Winnebago-of-doom, knows how it goes. Rodimus is going to want to challenge the biggest and meanest adversary there is in the battlefield. And while typically, that would be himself, that takes on a whole new meaning in this world. However, as it usually happens, someone beneath Rodimus' notice will engage him first. Sometimes they'll just bounce off his flame-decoed bonnet, but if they are going to be more of a distraction, the Camaro will be there to interject. It's content to keep Rodimus from the main opponent, and it doesn't honestly mind who it tears to pieces, just so long as it's someone. It keeps in Rodimus' good graces, and he'd do it anyway, so why not?

Rodimus, for all that he is both violent and supremely arrogant, also has a very keen tactical mind. Would he prefer to throw down with this other, no doubt weaker, self? Certainly. But he's canny enough to realize that there are still two Dinobots and an Omega Supreme to remember, among others.
Thus, Mirage gets an answer that he may well find surprising. //Yes, but if you get the opportunity, take it.//
After all, there's something enjoyable about denying his other-self a grand throw-down, too.
The attacking Autobots are speeding towards the city, but from the city, a different group of Autobots are, by now, rolling. And just now, they are coming into view.
"Oh, look, gentlemen,"1 he laughs. "They've sent out the welcome wagon."
"If this is the best they can do, we should have no problems here."
1 Even if Ironfire is there, he does not amend it to, "and lady." He's from an alternate Marvel universe. The idea that there might be other genders of Transformers as part of the charge isn't something he's prone to think of instinctually.

The welcome wagon has, indeed, arrived, lead by Kup, although hopefully not consisting only of him.1 And right now he's driving towards the oncoming Autobots at the stunning speed of one hundred miles per hour.
Incidentally, and perhaps significantly, although he's on the road that stretches out towards highway, he hasn't left the city-proper yet.
To the others,2 he orders, "Let them see you, but then try to split 'em up and lead 'em off. Use the environment to your advantage."
1 That'll depend on who else posts in!
2 Assuming there are others. Otherwise, he's just driving around talking to himself. Eh. Geezers do that sometimes, right?

"Roger an' Wilco!"
No. Kup is not alone. There's a silver Autobot that's been practicing restraint from the moment the first rumblings of a warning went out over broadband. It wasn't hard to round Jazz up. There were a few final tweaks on that arieal defenses that he'd been working on, among other things, but at a call, he was right there. And now Jazz is right here.
This is familiar. Lead the enemy through the hither and yon, make sure they don't lose you before the two buildings rigged to collapse on a second person through... And at a hundred miles an hour or so, hopefully the debris won't even scratch his paint. Just have to see who takes the bait.

Mirrors shatter so nicely when they're made of glass, and not chrome. And certainly when they're not made of stone and cement they don't shatter easily. Jazz doesn't like mirrors. Never has. The Prime may desire the destruction of the city that mirrors their own, but this Jazz... simply doesn't care. The silver Autobot has an agenda that involves the other city, the mirror. A specific mirror image.
Now that the road's song is dimmed, and the city approaches, it is time to make a plan to find the price of freedom.
Jazz smiles, though it cannot be seen in vehicle mode, and does not yell in response to the Prime's speech.
There is still some distance to go, and terrifying hazards to overcome, but this is just the beginning.

"Oh boy, oh boy," Nightbeat says, the hint of what would be a grin if he were in robot mode in his voice. "Been a long time since I got to deliver a truly unrighteous beat-down. Make them an offer dey can't refuse. Die... or die!"
Truly, however, Nightbeat intends for any scrapes of his to be quick and deadly. He didn't get to where he is in life by being soft, nor by going for long, drawn out battles. Kill and move on.

Arcee is, naturally, one of the better choices for a group situated to off-road combat. With her arsenal of off-road weaponry, it only makes sense.
She's keeping pace with Kup, though she could easily outdistance the veteran. "Understood, Kup," she replies.

While hardly the most suited for this, Goldbug brings a good amount of experience busting Decepti-chops to the table, thus why he's down on the ground with the others. Small but sturdy, he's ready to fight.
Even if, as a VW Bug, he's probably the least fancified vehicle on the road. "You've got it."

Ah, and the Alternates have arrived, and most of them far too swift for Perceptor to catch up with, and pausing to draw a bead on any of them leaves him far too exposed.
There is one Alternate, however, that even a fleshling could manage to hit. And one that he can find a safe location to attack from that is relatively covered.
Omega Supreme.
Perceptor smiles another nasty smile and peels off away from the others, trying to slip into the city to make his way to the looming Guardian.

Post by Spinister on May 4, 2008 21:01:57 GMT -5
Spinister is lurking somewhat behind the main charge of the evil Autobots. He sticks to the alleys and the shade, silent as always. Starscream dispatched him to follow the demon Prime. Following is easy enough. Spinister is faster than the Prime, after all.
However, despite all of Spinister's secrecy, it is more likely than Spinister knows that the Prime knows he is being tailed. Spinister has never had to practise against someone who can detect people by the bit of Primus they carry inside of them. The only mystically inclined people he knew were Bludgeon, who was busy levitating swords, and Mindwipe, who was interested in the voices of the dead.
OOC: Skippable. Poke me if you want to mess around with Spinister. He's hiding in an alley but uncloaked.
