Rattrap has been very quiet. As far as the plot is concerned, his silence has nothing to do with his player losing track of things; he's just been making good on his comment of playing nice. Besides, everyone else seems to already have the issue in the bag.
But that record scratch seems to play in his head as he swivels around to stare at Perceptor.
"Shockwave who what now?" And does he now have to worry about setting one of his spooks on the big guy in case the big guy is a spook in a plain brown wrapper?

Emirate Xaaron sighs as Botanica manages to send Perceptor into a passive-aggressive tizzy.
Then he has to prop his hands under his chin at what Perceptor has to say. He blurts, "Shockwave what?"
Emirate Xaaron played full-stasis with Ultra Magnus! He'd sort of like to do so again. If Shockwave says 'mindcrime', will Ultra Magnus murder Emirate Xaaron?

Kup straightens up a bit, gives Springer a sharp look, and says, "Ultra Magnus's all'a ours."
Right, Springer? Because if Springer's playing favourites with his Wreckers over the rest of MilSec, over the rest of the Autobots, that's a behaviour that needs to be stomped to the curb, and Kup'll be the one to do it.
He then looks over at Perceptor and starts asking the security questions, because he's Kup, "Is Ultra Magnus still cleared for unrestricted duty? What are we talking, here, 'Attack of the Autobots' bad, or Robo-Smasher bad?"

Oh Perceptor, you shouldn't wear your lasercore on your shoulder plating. Botanica doesn't find you trying. She just knows that you would science the talk up, and most folks won't appreciate it.
Perceptor's revelation gets much the same reaction from her as from everyone else.
"What?" she exclaims, turning in her seat to fully face the scientist. "There's nothing in his med file about this. Why has this not been filtered to the proper channels?"

Rodimus's optics open wide at Perceptor's revelation, and though he exclaims with a shocked "What?!" at about the time many others are talking, he really has nothing more to add that hasn't already been said.
Kup's reaction to Springer, however, draws a puzzled frown as he looks between the veteran and the Wrecker.

"I did file the appropriate report!" Perceptor replies, indignant as he pings his work station for the file in question... only to find that, while he wrote the report...
"Oh. Errr... I seem to have forgotten to submit it." Excellent work. Wonderful. As if he was not already on everyone's "list" just for being himself, now he has this, too. Perhaps he should simply shut himself up in his lab and not come back out? Everyone would be happier that way, he thinks.
Once the eruption of shocked exclamations finally quiet down, he sorts through the various questions and responses that had all been blurted out at the same time, and decides to address Kup, first.
"No, nothing so drastic as all that, Kup," he replies, turning toward the elder mech. "During the detailed and directed systems examination, I discovered components and coding integrated into Magnus' systems that... for lack of a better description, had a familiar 'signature' to them. Shockwave's."
"Contrary to what Magnus had explained that Shockwave had claimed to him, these hardwired personality modifiers did not inhibit his innate tendencies toward violence, but, instead, enhanced them. There was no other attempt to more directly influence Magnus' behavior - no 'sleeper programs' or conditioning triggers, merely the enhanced aggression. I was not able to determine the full extent to which these enhancements actually influenced Magnus' behavior, if at all, however--"
He breaks off sharply, realizing that he's winding up to launch into another one of those dissertations that everyone seems to find so irritating.
"I am attempting to rectify the conditioning," he finishes lamely.

"Well, yeah, I know that." Springer makes a bit of a put-out face. "He's a Wrecker - you mess with one of us, that scrap gets a little personal for all of us." Which...is kind of a stupid knee-jerk reaction which usually gets them into more trouble, but Springer's not gonna admit that in such a public setting. And of course Springer plays favorites. He sent Guzzle's former squad to their deaths, as well as many other Autobots just to get his Kup back.
He frowns a bit at Perceptor. That turns into a lot of frowning, actually, and Springer falls quiet with crossed arms.
Shockwave's dicking with coding? That can't be right, can it?
"Are you sure he's not just a generally violent Magnus?" Springer asks. "He led the Wreckers back home, and for all his talk about them being a civilized security squad, they're still generally the more violent Autobots in general."

OOC: Concurrent with the collision alert going up, therefore concurrent with Sturm und Drang.
As if somehow timed to pile yet more chaos onto their plates, the ship sounds a collision alert. Rattrap doesn't freeze and gasp like he would have had he been pulled an episode later when Sentinel malfunctioned thanks to his horseplay; he does, however, stiffen. His fur's actually standing on end.
"What inna name a' Vector Sigma's goin' on?" he demands, scowling and looking surprised all at once. "Don't they got traffic controllers at this lousy station?"

Odd interplay between Kup and Springer.
So Shockwave has made Ultra Magnus angry with an extra side of violent, and Perceptor missed it on his first pass. Stonily, Emirate Xaaron starts to ask, "So what else did you -" -miss, but then the alarm klaxons go off, and the lights turn red, as in every good military action movie.
He stands up, because in a situation like this, he's probably going to have to do a lot of running, and he starts to do what he does and give directions.

Springer confirms Kup's fear, that Springer is thinking of his silly little Wrecker team first and the other Autobots second. That won't do. Kup's going to have to have it out with Xaaron, Rodimus, and Springer over this cockamamie idea. So he may become the second Kup to try to break up the Wreckers for no adequately explained reason!
He isn't all that reassured when Perceptor says Ultra Magnus's problem isn't that drastic. Shockwave still made Ultra Magnus into someone he's not! Which means that Shockwave could have bent other minds, probably has...
Then the emergency alarms and lights go off. Kup stands, shoves away from the table - leaving some hand prints and dents behind - and moves to stalk out of the room. He's not running. He's not panicking. However, by golly, he will be at the site of the crisis, and he'll be there soon.

Botanica opens her mouth to comment on the issue with Ultra Magnus when the alarm goes off. At Xaaron's radio orders, she nods.
"On it. All the emergency med stations through the ship should be adequately stocked for those in a pinch."
Then she's gone.

Rodimus gives Springer a puzzled look. "Back h-?" he starts to ask, and then he's interrupted by the alarm. No time to ponder the implications of Ultra Magnus's altered code or to wonder about Springer slightly off wording or anything like that.
"Direct frontal assault?" he asks, then shakes his head and rushes towards the door. Unlike Kup, he transforms and begins roaring down the hall.

"I am quite certain, Springer," Perceptor replies crossly. "Magnus' code has been tampered with, not--" He is interrupted by the ship's claxons and alarms. And then Xaaron stands and begins rattling off orders via radio.
"Understood. I am en route to the spacebridge now, Xaaron," he calls over his shoulder as he follows the others out the door and heads to his lab as fast as his feet will carry him.

Springer would react to the responses, but the responses get cut off by the alarms.
"Looks like we'll have to pick this up later..." he says with a grumble, pulling a pistol out, and taking off after the others.

Rattrap makes a spectacularly unremarkable exit by slipping out amid the chaos and hustle. He's small and sneaky like that, and he's plotting ways his division can do something other than provide extra guns.
