Now this, this is something Wheelie can do! Finally, a chance to be useful and to help out his new friends.
And these, he is sure, are his friends. He can't quite put his finger on it, but there's something infinitely more trustworthy, more fundamentally good about them compared to the Decepticons.
"Wheelie's great and seek and see, just give that job to Holi and me!"

Something of a smirk quirks at the corners of Emirate Xaaron's mouth. Did Perceptor's own lips just call him a strategist?
He shakes his head and explains, "Didn't see much of anything. We were travelling fast as we could. Doesn't seem like there is anything much out there but desert. Once we're in better shape, we'll have to send Synapse and the jets out on some aerial surveillance runs. See if maybe some satellites are still working, too. We can transport back to the Zoo, if Omega Supreme has the fuel for it. Long Haul found a bit of hydro power there, and you're right about the supply situation."
He continues to hand Perceptor parts as needed and radios a few directives on broadband.

To be honest, Wheelie is a better strategist than Perceptor is, and he knows it. The scientist may be brilliant, but his is the genius of sorting out the dance of electrons and valances rather than orchestrating the ebb and flow of combat and politics. And it's quite clear that Xaaron is a leader; he simply exudes that air about him, though not in the same imposing manner as Optimus once had, or with the warm, brash confidence of Rodimus. Xaaron's confidence is a colder, more calculating thing, but present, nonetheless. Between that and the subterfuge of his diversionary tactic in stalling Dead End, Perceptor cannot help but assume that Xaaron has something in the way of practiced skills of strategy and leadership.
Assumptions which Xaaron only reinforces over the broadband.
"Thank you Wheelie, Holi. That would prove most beneficial," he replies to the smaller Autobots. "You did find the hydro-conversion facility, Long Haul? Based upon the structure and design of the settlement, I had theorized that one must be present. Did you have an opportunity to examine it before leaving the city?"
Perhaps it had been that facility that had been providing the power that was still present in the zoo. That would mean that the facility is already in working order and wouldn't need repaired - an ideal circumstance.
Perceptor pauses long enough to disconnect Jazz from his own power supply now that the damaged mech is more stable, absently noting Omega Supreme's transformation in the distance.
"It would be more efficient if we were to make our way to Omega Supreme for transport rather than he come to us, now. Once inside, Jazz can be moved. Thank you for your patience, Long Haul; your initial work in emergency stabilization and solid patience has saved Jazz's life."

Aerial surveillance runs are something Synapse would love to get a chance to do more on this planet. A chance to catalog some more of this strangely organic world and perhaps a closer look at its strange crystalline moon are high up on Synapse's own to-do list. It might take a little more time with just one node, but he's still functional. To be just like those great space explorers from before the War...
"I would be very willing to perform surveillance runs," he says, a light smile returning to his face. "But if any help is going to be needed in transporting parts and items, I would be happy to help."
Let Perceptor and Xaaron be the big planners, and perhaps this Kup. Synapse is quite pleased to continue his work in a smaller sort of field.

Long Haul's engine starts up, meaning everyone will have to speak a bit louder to be heard. Omega Supreme's transformed, which means it's time to return. He tells the others, "Well, it was working, but it looked like a back-up just for the zoo itself. And... erm... I hadda leave it uncovered coming here. If anymore water falls from the sky, it might short. On the other hand, might be something else in the city we can get running without too much trouble, though." And, in fact, there is, now that the receiving stations are once more receiving. Long Haul, however, would be unaware of this.
"All right, folks. Heading back. If anyone needs a lift, time to climb in now. Otherwise, I'm off." He pauses, waiting just long enough for everyone who wants to climb in to do so, and then begins rolling back towards the form of the Guardian.

And now Death is probably sulking somewhere. Maybe drinking in a bar, talking about how he coulda been a contenda...
Jazz will live. As Perceptor disconnects, all systems remain steady-- though it's probably going to take a little more energy than Jazz currently can muster to regain consciousness for more than a moment.
The only other reason he's not struggling to wake up at this particular moment is that the sense of urgency is gone. He's not dying. He isn't going to be slipping away into that dark and cold embrace. Jazz's systems are all stable, so whatever internal alarms were screaming at him before have dulled to an uncomfortable whisper.
Perceptor and Long Haul have saved his life. And when he wakes up, he will be grateful.

Good! Turning search and rescue into search and retrieve works for Holi just fine.
"We'll be the best finder team ever!" he declares proudly, pulling himself up as tall as he can go beside Wheelie and grinning. "You'll see, Doctor, sir!" And it's only natural for him to present Perceptor with the same crisp salute he has given Kup and Emirate Xaaron on other occasions.
Then it's off for Omega Supreme. Holi transforms and waits for Wheelie before he follows after Long Haul.

Two phrases you'll never hear together are "Wheelie" and "military discipline." And possibly also "respect for your elders." He doesn't salute, but simply transforms.
"When it comes to racing, I am not slow! It's hip pip pip and awaaaay I go!"
With a rev of his small but highly efficient engine, he drives after Holi.

Emirate Xaaron quickly settles himself in Long Haul's bed, somewhere inobtrusive where a) he won't disrupt Perceptor's work and b) the dragonette cannot get him. His alternate mode is slower than Long Haul is, even if Emirate Xaaron could transform well enough that he could reliably use it. Those little cars and the spaceship have no idea how good they have it.
He notes down Synapse's zeal and enthusiasm with a chuckle. Emirate Xaaron murmurs, "That's the spirit, Synapse."
Emirate Xaaron watches Holi and Wheelie, too, and he rubs his chin thoughtfully. Aloud, he asks, "Just what is that symbol Wheelie's wearing? Looks like a... wasp?"

Jazz is stable for now; Perceptor doesn't want to risk that stability by continuing repairs on delicate systems while Long Haul is in transit. Try as he might, the terrain and Long Haul's own specifications do not combine gracefully to provide a stable platform for working when the dump truck is in motion. Since Jazz is no longer in any danger of slipping away, these seconds and minutes of work are not so critical as to need risking what has already been accomplished.
Sorting through the parts and piece-mealed remains and collecting it all into neat and - more importantly - easily moved and unloaded bundles, however, is.
After the demoralizing loss of the energy facility and the significant injuries sustained by several of the Autobots, compounded by the rather macabre source of replacement parts available - a source that Perceptor still feels a deep sense of guilt and responsibility for - the youthful exuberance of Synapse, Wheelie, and Holi are a welcome sight. Holi's obvious respect and earnest enthusiasm, especially, are something of an antidote to the slow poison of despair that Perceptor has been succumbing to since first confronted with the realization of what darker worlds there are and how the Autobots have adapted to survive there. There are darker worlds, perhaps, but there are also worlds less dark where hope is the norm, rather than an impossible dream.
Perceptor sighs; although his current task is too solemn a thing to be performed lightly, his spirit feels lighter now as he continues his work. Though some are damaged, all have survived thus far. Though their ideals may not always be in full accord, they have faced their enemies together, coming to one another's aid, regardless of reality of origin. They are Autobots. It is enough to restore one scientist's flagging faith.
"I am not certain what that symbol is," he calls over the rumble of Long Haul's engine, pausing for a moment as he recalls what brief bit of the battle that he did participate in. "The Decepticon who transformed into a shark may have been wearing something similar, however, at the time, I had been more concerned with locating the controls for the facility's defenses and avoiding that mechanism's teeth than worrying about the details of his faction symbol." Perceptor shrugs apologetically.
Yes. He just admitted to having not been observant about something. Watch out; the sky may be falling.
"Your mention of precipitation reminds me, Long Haul. Xaaron, did either of you, during your stay in the city, find a location which we might convert most easily into a repair facility? Some manner of isolating the injured from exposure to the weather will be vital in such a humid climate."

Synapse barely manages to push down a flustered yet pleased expression at Emirate Xaaron's statement. Instead, he manages a short nod before transforming and lifting off into the air. His speed is a bit slower than usual. The gaping hole in this windshield still making his cockpit no better than a large air catcher. Synapse isn't used to this, all this air whipping about inside him. The granules of sand that come along with the wind certainly doesn't help as the grains get lodged in his controls. Do transformers have equivalents to giant feather dusters?
Off to Omega Supreme, and perhaps to see what damage the others have accrued. Synapse won't admit to hoping that Wedge didn't damage himself too badly, impetuous bot that the orange mech was.

"Erm... the building what we found the little guy on, it might work. I'd have to examine the floors, but if it's safe to knock a few of 'em out, that'll be good. Vehicles in there, too. Some might work for more parts."
After a few more minutes driving, he comes upon Omega Supreme's entry ramp. He sees Omega Supreme's condition, and feels almost embarrassed. So many hurt, so many injured here, and he hasn't taken a scratch.
Well, okay, maybe a few scratches. Sand is gritty!
He pauses before driving up the ramp. "Hey, Omega," he says as greeting, before driving up. Then he pulls up to where the fold out medical beds are, rolling over a paint can that's been strewn about in the process. It's this that causes him to realize something.
"Oh, man... it's a mess in here!" He sighs. That's something else to take care of.
OOC: Because I'm boarding Omega Supreme, I'm moving to the thread he's in now. Those who are either riding me or accompanying me (probably everyone) are free to jump over immediately. You don't have to wait your turn. You'll be removed from the rotation of this thread as soon as you've posted into the other one.
