Grimlock is shocked at the first revelation - Kup went somewhere far away, and nothing interesting happened? Inconceivable! At least to Grimlock, anyway, since all he ever hears from him is good stories, never boring ones. Kup good storyteller. <3
Grimlock's audios are trained on the elder for the next part of his explaination...the gears start turnin' in Grimmy's noggin', snyapses firing and such things that go with mental activity go on. "So...Kup from future...Arcee from past...but now we here" the Dinobot mumbles, shaking his head a bit. "Me Grimlock...think me get it...sort-of. Make Grimlock's head hurt, though."
Oh, boy, Decepticons! At least while he's here, Grimlock can do some of what he's good at - Bashing stuff! "All me Grimlock know for sure is Decepticons here! Me Grimlock going to munch metal!"
...and then the elder jabs his finger at Grimlock, and gives him the rundown on Long Haul. For one, Grimlock doesn't like to be bossed around. Him GRIMLOCK! Dinobot Commander! He steps up, looking down at the elder rather menacingly. Nobody bosses Grimlock! ...except maybe Rodimus. ...and Kup. And since this is Kup, Grimlock's instinctual looming and defiance is very short-lived, and he steps back. "...me Grimlock no like Constructicons. But...me Grimlock will give Constructici...'bot' a chance" he replies, looking over at the transformed Omega Supreme. Don't wanna cheese that big guy off, especially not without the other Dinobots here to back him up. And don't wanna make Kup mad. Kup might not tell Grimlock stories, then! And...that would make Grimlock unhappy. Grimlock likes being happy, so Grimlock will keep Kup happy, and not try to eat Long Haul.

Omega Supreme, in base mode, swivels his turret lazily over to Grimlock, and he rumbles, "Long Haul: inedible."
Maybe Dinobots are scary to most people, but Omega Supreme's only fear relating to Dinobots is that he might accidentally step on one.

Sideburn stares at Kup in open shock. What kind of nonsense was this? It sounded like some of the strange schemes the Predacons sometimes came up with, especially Sky-Byte and his three stooges.
But if Kup was telling the truth... And he really was snatched out of his own time and dropped here... Then X-Brawn and Prowl really might not be here... NO! They'd always been there for him, to back him up (or to tease or yell at him, as the case may have been). They just hadn't shown up yet, or had broken their radios. They'd get here.
...Right?
In an attempt to ignore the dread creeping up in him, he focuses in on what Kup says to the other guy, and blinks. "Who's this 'Long Haul' and why would he-" Sideburn jerks his thumb at Grimlock- "want to eat him?"

Kup stands his ground, expression set but not angry as Grimlock looms, but even he can't hide the brief expression of relief when the Dinobot commander backs down. Kup's general strength and toughness is actually on a par with most of the Dinobots, but he's fully aware that, if Grimlock wants to, he could visit serious damage on Kup, perhaps kill him.
Thank the Matrix for these guys' love of stories.
Kup quirks a warm smile at the term 'Constructibot,' and reaches over to briefly clamp his right hand on the other robot's shoulder in a companionable manner. "Thanks, Grimlock. I appreciate that."
At Sideburn's question, Kup steps back to address them both. There's a brief glance towards Omega Supreme - Kup may be a practiced story teller, but this isn't his story, and it's not a good one. The veteran decides to give the Cliff notes version.
"Long Haul and his team were once considered the permeir construction team on our Cybetron. They designed and built whole cities that it was believed would stand for all time, including what was commonly considered to be the most beautiful on the planet, Crystal City. Unfortunately, our Megatron forcibably reprogrammed the group into Decepticons. Under his orders, they destroyed their own crowning achievement and betrayed their best friend, Omega Supreme here," Kup gestures, "leaving permanent mental scars in the process. The team, then known as the Constructicons, also became our world's first combiner team, and tend to be pretty formidable warriors in their own right. Grimlock's team of Dinobots has had a few run-ins with them, and their combined form, Devastator, has given them a pretty hard time."
The truth: though it is not an easy victory, encounters between Devastator and the Dinobots tend to favor Devastator unless something manages to decombine them. Kup does not put it this way, though, as that's likely to be something of a sore-point with the proud Dinobot commander.
"The Long Haul we have here was pulled from a point before he got reprogrammed, though, so he's still an Autobot. A..." Kup pauses, then smiles up at Grimlock. "A Constructibot. But generally speaking, in our universe, a lime green construction vehicle spells trouble. In fact, the Decepticons do actually have one from after their reprogramming, too: Hook."
Kup looks from Grimlock to Sideburn. "Now, if you two don't mind, I'm going to need both of your most recent timestamps. It'll help place where you guys are, relative to others from your realities." Then he focuses on Sideburn. "I'm also going to have to ask you a few questions, Sideburn, just to get an idea of your general skill level and abilities. There's a lot of us been just kind of tossed together here, and our odds of survival are a lot better if we all know what each other can do."
Kup, of course, already knows what Grimlock can do. Grimlock smashes Decepticons. He's very good at that. It's about all he does (well, that, and bug Kup for stories), but he’s very, very good at it.

Grimlock good listener. Grimlock might even smile, if he had a smiling mouth. Grimlock like to be bragged on!
At the timestamp inquiry, Grimlock hesitates a moment, thinking and checking his chronometer, and reporting the reading - placing him maybe a month or so after Unicron's defeat, long before the Intergalactic Olympics.
Once Kup finishes the run-down for Sideburn, Grimlock looks at the blue Viper, then looks at Kup. "...me Grimlock think him look like blue Hot Rod."

Omega Supreme watches Perceptor quietly walk away. He isn't sure how useful he was to the scientist. He also watches the newcomer, for lack of better things to do.
OOC: Consider me out of here, unless anyone needs me. I'll still be 'here' ICly, but I won't be talking, and I'll be out of the order.

Sideburn seems to look thoughtful. Beware everyone!
"Hmm... Interesting. That seems different from my universe. All of our construction vehicles are Autobots."
Once Grimlock's done, Sideburn gives his timestamp, which corresponds to some point between seasons 2 and 3 of RiD.
"Skill level and abilities, huh?" Well, Sideburn does have a bit of a vain streak... "Well, I'm the fastest Autobot in the galaxy, for the first thing. And me and my brothers tend to be Optimus' right-hand mechs for general fights against the Predacons and Decepticons. I mean, he'll call out other teams for more specialized stuff, but it's usually us he calls for. I'm a decent enough shot with my Backfire Exhaust...
"And I'm responsible for mine and my brothers' repairs and general maintenance." Sideburn is happy enough to give Kup the info he needs, though he fails to mention his love of little red sports cars. It's not like there's any here, that he's seen...

The veteran considers Grimlock's observation. He narrows his optics and looks over Sideburn. Finally, he says, "I'm afraid I don't really see the resemblance, Grimlock."
Kup once more removes his stylus and 'notepad' from subspace, then nods to Sideburn. "So generalized combatant, used to working with a team, and repairs?" he asks, making a few notations. "Good! Very good! We could use someone else to help take the pressure off Perceptor." Kup gestures in the direction of the Autobase-in-progress, not currently in view. "Head south down the street right outside the zoo's gate, right after about seven blocks, then left after another six, and you'll see the multi-story parking garage that serves as our base. You don't have to go there just yet, just letting you know where it is. Anyways, Perceptor, the red guy who wandered off while we were talking, has been handling the bulk of the repairs since we got here. Sounds like him, you, Long Haul, and Swerve will all have to be doubling as our repair team."
Kup didn't ask questions about who Sideburn thought was in charge there (he just got there!) or how leaders were chosen in his reality (he already got that from Wedge).
"From your timestamp, Wedge was pulled from a later time than yours, so you'll want to get together with him to compare notes."
"Oh, also, since none of us are used to work together, I'll be holding some training sessions later on. I'd like you both to be there." He grins at Grimlock. "Yeah, I already know what you're capable of, so just think of it as a chance to show off, huh?" That should work.

Grimlock would once again be grinning, if he had a mouth. A chance to show off is always good. It garners respect for Grimlock! (And probably a good bit of fear in some mechs.) "Me Grimlock show everybody why me Grimlock Dinobot Commander!" His announcement is rather gleeful. Well, as gleeful as a Serious Grimlock can get.

OOC: Just posting through, nothing to see here.
That dull roar in the air is the sound of a finely-tuned racing engine doing exactly what it was built to do. Swerve is on his way out of the city and he's doing his best to hit open road again as quickly as he possibly can. That he passes the Zoo gates is pure coincidence, but he does so in his customary hasty fashion.
This of course means that a small red sportscar – it's nothing from Earth, but any idiot knows a sportscar when he sees one – rockets past the interview party at the gate and drifts around the corner just beyond so it can hit the road that leads north.

"Alright," Sideburn replies, amiable enough now to the thought of training. Of course, when it actually comes time for the training, he may find something red and convenient to have a date with. ...Or maybe not, training tends to be less boring than, say, patrol or guard duty.
However, whatever he has to say next is completely wiped from his CPU as his optics catch sight of something red and moving fast. Immediately his systems lock onto Swerve, and anyone watching him can almost see his optics turning heart-shaped. Before anything else can process, he's off after the unfortunate victim of his affections. He transforms to car mode for more speed, heedless of everything else.
"Hey there, cutie! Wait up! That's a nice paint job you got there!"
OOC: And Sideburn's out, following Swerve. Have fun!

"Thanks," answers Kup as they both agree to training without coaxing. Nice!
And then Sideburn suddenly takes off. Kup's optics flicker with surprise, and he turns after the blue race car. "Hey- wha- where're you going?" he shouts after him, but it's too late. Kup stares down the road for awhile. Did he just call Swerve 'cutie'? Finally, he shrugs and turns back towards Grimlock. "I think I'm seeing that resemblance to Hot Rod you mentioned," he tells the Dinobot commander before returning his stylus and the flat piece of metal that serves as his notepad to subspace.
"Grimlock, I've still got several other people to talk to, but if you like, you can tag along. Meet some of the other Autobots here and such. Otherwise, you can head over to the base we're working on. That's probably where Perceptor got to."

Grimlock stares after Sideburn in a state of confusion, before looking to Kup at just about the same time Kup looks back. "...me Grimlock take it back. Him more like Blurr."
Now, though, Grimlock ponders the interviews. Hmm...hang out with Kup, or hang out with Perceptor?
...Kup wins. Grimlock like not having to think about big words. "Me Grimlock go along. Me got nothing better to do."
Grimlock thinks a bit, then looks to Kup again. "Kup...me Grimlock want to know - You say Transformers being pulled from all over place...are Dinobots or Rodimus here, maybe?" There's a small twinge of hope in Grimlock's voice that will soon be crushed, unless time-space decides to have a few more selective hiccups...

Kup nods when Grimlock agrees to tag along, and after a brief radio conversation, establishes that several of the people he wanted to talk to are nearby, anyway. He's just about to inform the Dinobot of this, when Grimlock asks about Rodimus and the Dinobots. The veteran starts to walk as he answers, but the expression on his face speaks volumes. He shakes his head. "I'm sorry, Grimlock, but none of them are here," he says, tone sympathetic. "At least, not yet." He falls silent a moment, then finally gets around to explain why he's walking in the direction he's walking. "Turns out, there's a group out exploring that happen to be passing near here. You'll recognize the names of all of them, but the only one you'll really know is Arcee. She's the Arcee you know, but she's from our past... right after the battle of Autobot City, but before we got that radio transmission 'bout Unicron. There's also Long Haul, who I already told you about, and a Jazz. This Jazz is... well, he looks... different from any other Transformer you've ever seen. I mean, you can kinda see bits that resemble 'Jazz,' but it looks like his builder left off about half his outer armor or something. We also got a Bumblebee and a guy named Skyblast from that same reality."

Grimlock's shoulders drop, along with his head, though very slightly at this information. A world without Rodimus or his fellow Dinobots is...well, a sad one. The 'not yet' perks him very slightly, seeing that there is some chance of them showing up, like he did.
The Dinobot begins to follow the elder Autobot, plodding along behind him. Long Haul beings a knee-jerk reaction of dislike, but he remembers his agreement to not hurt/maim/eat the 'bot.
The prospect of this strange Jazz confuses Grimlock. It seems a lot of things do about this place... "Why builder make Jazz half-uncovered?" he wonders out loud, a bit more rhetorical than anything, though he'd probably ask once he arrived.
