My, my, my, but Kup presumes to order Emirate Xaaron around? It sets a dangerous precedent to just follow what Kup demands he do. On the other hand, this is an important thing that has to be done, and it's not like Emirate Xaaron was doing anything better, just standing there on his lonesome where anyone with malevolent intent could just pop him and be done with it. Not doing important things that need to be done also sets a bad precedent.
He radioed his coordinates earlier, so Arcee should be able to find him. He casts his gaze about this particular area, sighing heavily.
Aloud, Emirate Xaaron muses to himself, "This just goes to show that we need to set security clearances and run background checks before we allow people to wander about alone."

Arcee pulls up to Xaaron's location and transforms. She's not entirely certain of the protocol involved here, so she offers the golden Autobot a salute. Considering he's a government official, rather than military, she doesn't exactly have the background for properly dealing with that. After all, for her Autobots, military and political were the same thing. The Matrix bearer was their leader in all aspects.
"How to you recommend we begin... sir?"

Emirate Xaaron was a governmental figure. Now, he is a rebel leader. Emirate Xaaron has more military experience than his Optimus Prime does. His Optimus Prime only had a scanty thousand years before he was lost to the sleep of aeons and has gathered the loose change of years since awakening. Emirate Xaaron led a war in those millions of years that Optimus Prime slumbered, and he grew wily and cunning.
At her salute, he gives her a sharp nod and advises, "Keep your optics out for anything disturbed around here or any shadowy alcoves. I don't suppose you have any experience in searching for bombs?"
If she doesn't, he hopes they were assigned a low priority section.
Emirate Xaaron is still sporting several small injuries. To look at the injuries and to look at him, one would think they were exceptionally low powered shots. One would be quite wrong. They were average shots. Emirate Xaaron just isn't built like the neutral he looks to be. They injuries don't seem to be hindering him any, although they do hurt.

And Arcee's Optimus Prime had about five million years, before his four million year dirtnap. Still, Xaaron wouldn't be up for the leadership position if he didn't have some skills. She had been listening to the radio, after all.
Then again, Wheelie had put Holi up for it too.
"Some," she replies. "The Combaticons tried to plant some in Autobot City, back when it was first built."

And how many Decepticon tyrants has Arcee's Optimus Prime killed? One, and he ended up dead because he just had to do it man to man. Emirate Xaaron might have just dealt with Trannis, someone the Decepticons would have probably killed anyway, but all the same, he's still alive to show for it.
Arcee's reply is fairly encouraging, and Emirate Xaaron asks, "What did they tell you to do, then?"
He busies himself looking through a rubbish bin. The stuff inside seems mostly rotten and moldy but not overly bomb-like.

"Ultra Magnus had us working a double priority list. Some of us checked for high profile targets, and the others checked for low-key areas that would cause more cumulative disruptions," she explains.
Autobot City, after all, had primarily been built with the purpose of energy collection in mind. Sure, you could destroy the generators outright, but if you served some of the supply lines and such, it could cause greater back-ups and further disruptions.
"Of course, it helped that Autobot City is also Metroplex, an Autobot."

Emirate Xaaron points out, "If you look closely, there's a pattern to how the assignments were handed out by Kup."
Emirate Xaaron and Arcee were handed a low priority area. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Kup. He notes, "I am familiar with the concept of city Transformers. It's the planet Transformers that worry me."
He works on checking the windows and doors of the buildings. Most of the doors seem firmly locked, which is good.

On the other hand, it might be a vote of confidence in Arcee to protect Xaaron from whatever might come up. It's all in how you look at it.
She, too, is checking alone similar lines to Xaaron. "Nothing's running here," she says. "A bomb's bound to be hot. If we check for a heat signature, we might be able to find it."

Emirate Xaaron waves a hand absently and chatters, "Not necessarily. It would depend on the design of the bomb. It could have a tiny battery and transceiver for the radio pulse, which would be easily lost against background radiation." He did run a guerilla war for several million years, after all. "Of course, if you can see IR, by all means, key that up. It's just easier, if more work, to assume a competent enemy and work off that theory, rather than assume an incompetent enemy, pay dearly for it, and waste even more time cleaning up."
He pausing, staring up at a roof that's too tall for him to just see from his robotic height. With something of a flourish, he gestures up at that roof and offers, "Would you like a boost up? The Decepticon can fly, so the roofs are fair game for searching."

((apologies. I really fell behind here.))
"Might as well," she says. Damn dirty Decepticons. Thinking they're so smug just because they can fly.

Emirate Xaaron drops to one knee and cups both his hands above said knee, such that Arcee can stand there and get a boost up. It seems a bit more dignified and polite than just grabbing her. He offers, "Ready when you are."

Arcee takes the boost and is up on the roof after a moment's work. She may not be the strongest or biggest fighter around, but sometimes, it pays to be a little bit of a lighter build.
"Don't see anything... yet."

Emirate Xaaron has been known, once in a blue moon, to throw around red scientists. He only does it for really good reasons, not to fear! Arcee wasn't a problem at all to boost. Emirate Xaaron calls up to her, "Can you see anything from up there elsewhere?"
Might as well make use of the vantage point.

"Hold on, I'll check."
Arcee's visor drops into place and she runs the telescopic function up to the maximum, scanning around for anything worth seeing.
"Doesn't look like any of the other groups around here have found anything either."

Emirate Xaaron sighs and mutters, "No news is either good news, or he's cleverer than he looks. Come down, then, and we'll be off to rest of this section."
