This takes place somewhere in Days 6-8 of the DZ-3 plot.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and to get a pound of flesh out, first you need to take off an inch of skin. It's time to pay a visit to the good doctor and let him know what kind of trauma he might have to deal with if she gets wheeled into ER.
Pee-Dee clatters into Medical. "Dr. First Aid? We need to talk about my medical needs."

There are things more frustrating than trying to brush up on your botany while everything you know about botany is from entirely the wrong solar system for your purposes, and First Aid knows it, but the distraction of Pee Dee is welcome anyway.
“Sounds like a good plan,” he says, straightening up and turning around to face her, “Where’d you want to start?”

She blinks her optics at his question. "The beginning, of course!"
Now, where the beginning is on a topic like this, that's a question for another day. "You've already heard about how we can take a lot of damage without going down, right? Because sometimes we can go down, and things get a little trickier then.
"But! Let's start with the easy stuff. I hope you've been collecting some of the scrap all around this town for a cache in Medical. No point in wasting good parts on me, and the stuff you guys use for armor is just terrible for what I need." Pee-Dee perches on the edge of one of First Aid's medical tables.
"Now, if I'm walking in under my own power, just point me at the parts and maybe some fuel. Unless my arms are missing, in which case, it'd be nice if you could help me rig up a manipulator, but it's not really necessary if you're busy. It's just tedious to use my mouth until I get something better rebuilt.
"But if I'm not brought in on my power, and I've still got a hand, just make sure I'm conscious and put a parts bin near me. I'll manage. No arms, and we go back to the manipulator."

First Aid pushes himself up onto a neighboring table and listens carefully throughout Pee Dee’s explanation, with an air of someone committing each word to memory. “I’ve got salvage, yes. I’ll make sure I set some aside for you. A bit jumbled’s best, right?” Which means de-organizing, a difficult task for a compulsive organizer, but for the good of a patient, he can do it!
How busy is he? It’s always the question. “I should have enough time to help with a manipulator. Definitely.”

"Yeah, jumbled's for the best." It's easier to jury-rig something if you don't have everything all organized with how it's supposed to go. Jury-rigging and pre-conceived notions don't go well together.
"Now, if I'm unconscious, just fiddle around with my circuits until you find wherever the short is or wake me up." She shrugs. "Either option's likely. It'll probably take some work on your part - takes a lot of damage to knock me out.
"Now if I'm dismembered... Things get trickier then."

“Get you back on line if you’re unconscious. Got it.” First Aid nods and leans forward just a little.
“Trickier?” Dismemberment is generally tricky, but he’s sure it has implications unique to Junkions.

"Well..." Pee-Dee clasps her hands behind her head. "Well, if I'm dismembered and still conscious, there's not much of a problem besides me being in pieces.
"But if I'm not conscious... Well, put all the pieces you can find back together and give me a day or two. I'll prooooobably wake up."

First Aid nods. "What's the margin, there? That is - "
When is it likely you won't wake up is possibly not the most tactful question. But he's got to ask. "A day or two, yes, but should I let you alone for longer than that after you've woken up? And if you're not awake by then, how long is waiting useful?"

"If I don't wake up in a day or two, I'm not going to." Pee-Dee crosses her arms. "If it's been three days with no change, then just dump me out with the scrap because the really important parts are gone."

First Aid nods. “Understood,” he says.
“Anything else I should know?”

He nods. "It does happen. It's not a good indictor, though."

"Well, I've never seen it happen to one of us, so I don't think Junkions do that." She tilts her head up as she tries to figure out if there's anything she's missed. Nothing immediately occurs to her, so she hops off of First Aid's table. "Well, I think we're done here."

"I'll remember that!"
First Aid slides off the table he's perched on. "Thank you. I really appreciate the information." He holds out his right hand in a hopeful manner. Handshake?

Handshake! A very enthusiastic handshake accompanied by a quirky little salute.
"See you around, First Aid."
And off Pee-Dee goes, merrily clattering down the halls.

Unless First Aid has anything else to say to her?
